  1. Clarke is the man just now, he ticks almost every box for me.

Agree with the concerns around him potentially falling out with players but I think he would get the backing of the TA by taking the strongest possible stance on the Tierneys etc who pull out with a fractured eyelash then play with their clubs on the Saturday, fack the lot of them.

I remember being quite excited about the Levein appointment and it didn't turn out well, it seems similar as he did a similar job with Dundee United as CLarke has done with Killie however you are hoping Clarke's experiences with Chelsea and Liverpool will prepare him for this jpb.

  2. I think Tierney would probably hold a place down at a Leicester, West Ham, Wolves. There is nothing to suggest that he would could play for a top 6 side.

Remember Wanyama and VVD went to Southampton first, did well and then made the step up, Tierney would have to follow the same path.

This is an SFA directive and is not new or just negotiated. It stems from last summer.
The lowland sub pwg group has just been brexiting it for months now. No formal alternative complete proposal has been put forward. Like Brexit it's all just what we dont want.
Once again I dont support it but I'm dismayed that the eos and ll have not actually put a firm counter proposal up that would at least give the SFA something to chew over. Just saying we dont mind the west juniors or tayside can have its own league does not fill the void.

Not sure why you would be amazed, I don't think the EOS and LL care about a counter proposal, they are happy with the situation as it is.

Because they had a board meeting and ratified it,hence Maxwells e mail in October.

All it’s been since then is the EoSL trying to come up with the same old tired points which have all been resolved with SFA staff.

If I was on the SFA board and there were a lot of licensing applications from EoS clubs I know where I’d be putting them!

What an utterly absurd way of looking at things, clubs have spent thousands of pounds on and off the pitch to get their licences.  As inept as the SFA are I don't think they would share this stupid attitude just because the EOS member clubs rejected a silly proposal.

  5. It all comes down to Rodgers thinking that he is a top 6 English Premier League Manager. He cant go back to Liverpool, he cant go to Man United as he was at Liverpool and would never get the City job so he will be looking at Tottenham, Chelsea or Arsenal, he has been overlooked recently for both positions at Chelsea and Arsenal. He could win 15 trebles at Celtic and they would still overlook him. If he can consolidate Leicester as a top 8 club maybe 2 years on the trot along with developing some younger players, being shrewd in the transfer market and playing an attractive brand of football that will get them taking notice.

So at the moment this would translate as:

Saturday 27 April : Penicuik Athletic v Broxburn Athletic

Tuesday 30 April or Wednesday 1 May : Bonnyrigg Rose v Penicuik Athletic

Saturday 3 May : Broxburn Athletic v Bonnyrigg Rose

But if Linlithgow Rose can overturn Broxburn in Conference C we would have one hell of a match to watch on 3rd May.

I think Hill of Beath are still very much in the running.  So it looks like each team has a home game and an away game with penalties giving an extra point if it ends in a draw. Should be 3 cracking games.

  7. For me there are now problems at Kelty, I have not seen a team that are close to Kelty ability wise (not seen EK) so I think they have really under achieved so far, with the squad they have just accepting top 4 isn't acceptable, they should be pushing for the title, absolutely no doubt about that.

I had reservations about the Ferguson autograph hunting appointment, for me he is not in the same league as Tam Courts as a manager although it is fairly early days and he should probably be judged at the end of the season, I don't like the way he has over turned the squad which he said at the time he didn't need to do when he took over. He has also changed the system which hasn't worked so far and the players he has brought in don't look to be better that what he has deemed not good enough, Finn Graham for instance is nowhere near the player Nimmo is. Missing games for playing in a 6 aside tournament is shocking also, how can he have any credibility in the dressing room / training this week when he hasn't been at the f"""cking game?

Quite possibly he’s learned from that experience like he has openly admitted. I haven’t seen any fall outs thus far, he’s actually went over and above the call of duty on a few occasions helping some of our players.

He will get more support in the background and a bit of stability at Kelty than I think he did at Clyde which I left him frustrated. I’m sure we won’t go through a ridiculous number of players in a short period. He always said he was happy with the squad but (as was planned by the last manager also) a couple were always going to be added to help us on our way. That will most likely be us till the summer barring any injuries.

Fair enough but letting Nimmo go is a huge mistake in my opinion, he would actually be one of the first names on the teamsheet for me.

  9. I am assuming a fee was paid for O'Neil? I find the whole situation with him a bit weird, why he was allowed to leave in the first place then rocks up at Dundonald and now he is back at Kelty after 4 months. Also can't see how Barry Ferguson would know a thing about him, he's possibly leant on some of the senior players or McDowell for advice on him.

Graham looks a brilliant signing on paper, local lad and at a great age to progress. Would imagine there will be 2 or 3 moving out the door shortly, just cant see how Hare or C Gay get anywhere near the team, even the bench now with how well some of the 20s are doing.

I'm interested in what happens at the end of this season as regards leagues A, B and C. I can't find any information relating to it on the EOSFL website which is otherwise a very good site compared to what it used to be. Can anyone enlighten me? I did start reading this thread but there's 34 pages and to be honest I got stuck on the very first post as I had no clue what PWG meant. I have heard that the top 5 in each of the 3 leagues will form 1 league of 15 next season and the remainder will go into a league below that, is that right? How is the champion decided? Will new teams still be able to apply to join the EOSFL next season?

    Thanks in advance

The three winners of each conference play each other in a round of play off games, the winner of this will then go through to play the South of Scotland champions in a two legged play off to decide promotion to the Lowland League (only if they are licenced)

The top 5 clubs from each conference then form a New East of Scotland Premier League along with the best placed 6th team + whoever is relegated from the Lowland League. That would then leave 23 teams + any new additions so the East of Scotland would need further reconstruction underneath.

  11. All three Divisions look like having a very tight battle for the winning team and even closer for the top 5 places so I actually think its very exciting and night and day from the juniors. Yes there have been some hammerings which were to be expected and probably wont happen going into next year.
