The Junior cup could be a better trophy if extended to all sfl clubs. Rename the trophyLet me get this right , you’ve ridiculed TJ and the SJFA for the past year or so as part of your campaign to join the pyramid but now want to participate in the Junior cup?0 -
Scrap the Challenge Cup and use the Junior cup as the SFL Trophy. The introduction of Senior sides in the Junior Cup seems such a sensible move to build up consensus and cooperation. Who on earth would be opposed to such a move in the Junior hierarchy and what would be their reasons? Sorry if I appear naive.

I think everyone on here is looking at this WOSL believing it might be the best option. It needs to be done properly though.

Ok Einstein. We all bow to your superior knowledge of all
Its still in the South of East Ayrshire so giruy [emoji14]0 -
If's and buts hysteria. That's probably why so many have jumped ship in the East. It will be interesting to see how it goes with them and how they manage to navigate their clubs. It's not that much better supported. The main difference between east and west in what's going on right now is that there's no rival senior league in the west. If that changes, and it lures Clydebank, then maybe the Buffs, then Maryhill, then Pollok... it could well start a stampede as happened in the east.
I've said it from the start the East have nothing to lose as the competition is varied but for the West to leave it'll need to be a different viewpoint. The West juniors is the strongest product in the sjfa region.

The difference is the west is far far stronger league ands better supported. Just look hope close all west leagues wete this season. The product is strong. Transfer it to a newco league as whole you may get a few raised eyebrows and backing.Until a few months ago I'd have said the same about Linlithgow Rose, Bo'ness, Bonnyrigg, Penicuik...
Things change fast when clubs fear getting left behind.

You seem to know more about the Talbot than I do. Some good points though. Already said a few times before on here.
Course it would. Fun though [emoji14]
But in all seriousness there wouldnt be much in the way of sporting integrity if anyone was turned away.
Talbot could actually be a cracking senior team if your fans just actually had the vision to see it, you obviously already pay senior wages and the only thing missing from Beechwood is floodlights ( and a projectile free parking space for visiting buses [emoji6] ). So why not just look a bit beyond South Ayrshire, theres no reason why you can’t better Brechin City who ok had a shit season last year but still played at the second highest level in Scottish Football being from a town of similar size. No one wants to see a West League actually happen without Cumnock and Talbot (even if I personally dont enjoy visiting). You as Talbot fans have to view it as the next step in your clubs journey, because if you dont you’ll get left behind.
Ps. It's East Ayrshire not South Ayrshire. Please do your homework before getting on your soap box0 -
I'll agree with you there but it would be foolish not to accept them.
Thats if they are accepted.0 -
The likes of Talbot, Cumnock, Beith,Kilbirnie and possibly Buffs are not daft.
These teams if they go will go together. Despite mutual dislike and possible hatred there is too much history and allegiances for just one to go then another.
I expect if and when it happens all the big west teams will go together.0 -
Hush ya clown
Not really any great loss if the South Ayrshire ones dont, they want to remain junior and looking at the thread about nock/talbot they only really seem to care about local rivals. would like Beith, Ladeside and Buffs to be involved along with Largs. Im sure it’ll be a great addition to the senior leagues.1 -
No slipping on the west, And results prove the west is way stronger. You say that, but nothing I’ve seen this season suggests there’s much of a gap between east and west. It’s more a question of overall standard in the juniors, and my hunch is that it’s slipping.
There may well be a change in the air but don't be fooled into thinking the big west junior teams will not be part of it.
Financially the juniors in the west has done superb without the added input of the East.
It'll be a loss to the juniors though.0 -
The east are weaker than the west by a heavy margin.
Bonnyrigg are the big team in the east at the moment but were never able to topple the west big dogs. I do wish them luck in the future unlike red rose who must still have a few thorns up his backside.
