If Mercer wasn’t performing, then I’d be inclined to put Miller at right back and see how he does. I don’t know why, but I’d quite like to see Alston and Todd in the centre together

It’ll be interesting to see if the young Kilmarnock loanee is tried at left midfield. Even though I’ve not seen much of him, I’m hoping he’s got energy, which is what we need in midfield just now

His footballing career will be over if he doesn’t make some sort of impression this season, so I’d expect him to be putting himself about

Teams will quite rightly try and pick up Morrison to nullify him but there is an easy solution to this. If the managers can give him a free role across the midfield, and get the other three understanding that they need to move about depending on where he is, then this would make it awkward for the opposing team to stop him

Agreed, but M&M still have a chance to change the game and bringing that duffer on isn’t going to do it

I said I wasn’t that fussed about signing Kingsley, as I didn’t believe he would sign and now we appear to be struggling to find a left back/centre half, so I still stand by comment

Of course it’ll be a big plus. I said on a previous post that I wouldn’t be too bothered, as I think we’d still get someone adequate enough to play centre half of Kingsley doesn’t sign. Kingsley is head and shoulders above this level, so of course he’ll be a great signing

I’m not disagreeing with this at all. All I’m saying is it will be a great signing but I won’t be too bothered if it doesn’t happen. If we’d signed Kingsley and McManus last season, then Kingsley would have been deemed the better/bigger signing, however, as we know McManus would have had a bigger impact on winning games. I’m not against signing him, and I’ll be as happy as any other fan if we do, but I don’t see him making or breaking our season.

I know this will be a very unpopular opinion but, ah well. I’m not too bothered if Kingsley signs or not. Yes, he would be a very good signing, but he’s a left back. It’s not a position that’ll win you games and I think Dixon is still good enough for this level. If he signs then great, but if not, I’m sure we’ll get someone else in that’ll be good enough

No it shouldn’t. The reduced rate for my seat is still the same as the south stand plus top up. If I decided not to top up I’d still be paying the same as you with top up so you can’t prioritise fans based on whether they topped up or not

Why would they offer Laverty a contract and then put him out on loan? I’d understand if he had two years left, but I can’t see him going out when he only has this year to break through
