  1. Hate Crime Bill or whatever it’s correct title is.
  2. Always thought this forum was a place for opinions? Maybe the HCB will put a stop to that?
  3. Absolutely correct. When I start telling people who are getting ‘romantic and braveheartish’ about Independence that they’ve got 10 to 15 years of austerity ahead, that their pensions are in doubt, that their mortgage interest rates will soar, that their currency (the groat?) will be worthless, they may think I’m talking crap, but they will pay attention and give it some thought amidst the growing doubts that will increasingly set in.
  4. Understand we’ll be at home to Montrose next Saturday which is a continuation of the programme at the time we stopped.
  5. Okay, I defer to your better knowledge but I certainly didn’t reckon that was Josh Todd.
  6. I can’t place the player, top left in the 3rd batch of photos next to Lee Miller. Can someone please assist?
  7. A drop of 20% on Gross earnings translates into a drop of around 10% on net earnings depending on income levels. Net earnings is the important thing. Furlough is a lifesaver and - well done Sunak.
  8. Sandy- some fairly sensible advice there. Totally agree about life’s ups and downs. Never take anything for granted. Regarding furlough, I currently have some people on 80% furlough as business is completely shut. What they tell me is that they’re not worse off as they have less tax and NI plus no travel expenses to work. In addition there isn’t much to spend their money on recreationally so all in all they’re , in some cases better off, but certainly not worse off. It’s a strange old world.
  9. Sandy- you’re not listening to him. What he’s saying has nothing to do with independence. Its a much bigger problem. Maybe further expansion of the auto enrolment system is the answer?
  10. That’s a decent summary of how most fans feel about their club, I would say.
  11. Fair enough, although I note you are against the euro which some of your fellow supporters favour. Oh well, interesting times ahead.
  12. I can follow your logic. Out of interest how do feel about being in the EU and joining the euro where you would lose Political, monetary and fiscal independence
  13. Kind of agree about the nervousness. I feel my heart pounding which I don’t get attending games. As I’ve said earlier the only plus for me is when the weather is freezing cold. I find that hard to cope with at TFS. We need to get back to normality sooner rather later. People are not dealing well with this zombie existence.
  14. Hardly surprising, considering the civil war currently raging within the SNP. Any news editor would be salivating at such a story.
  15. Sandy- I think I can agree, for once. However, the main point is made by Gaz5 about the unreliability of a state unfounded pension. Do your own thing.
  16. It would be great if we learned how to build ferries !
  17. Thanks for that. Probably the best explanation to date. What I was thinking about was, in the case of a continuing working individual, the new SG will be getting his contributions but, as, according to most on here, the UK will be paying pensioners, something seems wrong?? Anyway, the poster is correct in that everyone will get their pension but the question is obviously a political one as to which government pays? Gaz5 is correct that relying on the state for a pension, or for anything else, is a foolish game.
  18. To whom and from where? As there is no fund for anyone, I find it hard to believe. I thought Gaz5 had clarified this?
  19. Interesting! Im no expert but I would have thought that your pension, when you retire will be wholly paid by the SG, as mentioned earlier, there is NO fund. In the scenario regarding your brother, if he moved back to Scotland, I would think the UK would pay just like people who emigrate get theirs from the UK. Maybe our friend Gaz will have a more informed take on this. As you say, it was clarified in 2014 and presumably the same rules would apply in the future.
  20. Alex Totten is a great guy. Produces cash for the club and brought us some great players. During this lockdown, I’ve enjoyed watching Rangers both domestically and in Europe. They've done a great job for Scotland as has Celtic in earlier years. Absolutely no conflict with FFC being No1
  21. As the players are off furlough, I would guess we’ll be playing.
