  1. Was Irvine not signed by Totten shortly after McAllister?
  2. As I’ve been banned from talking about the only topic in town - namely Covid , we have to suffer all this nostalgia crap, then how about an underrated manager mentioned earlier - Billy Lamont!! Can’t quite remember his teams too well apart from the magnificent Gerry McCoy. Any reminiscences gratefully received.
  3. I seem to remember Celtic slaughtering him in a midweek match at Parkhead.
  4. What- I don’t swear but he was worse than useless.
  5. We’ve only received £75000. Balance still to come.
  6. Interesting point. As flexible furlough is allowed I think it will be okay but the employee has to be on the payroll on or before 30 th October. Gary Holt will not be eligible
  7. Yes - it was good but the people who took over we’re terrible.
  8. I think Roberts was signed by Hartley on a 2 year deal at Dundee, if I recall.
  9. Pleased to see that LyleTaylor is refusing to ‘take the knee’ on the grounds that BLM is a nasty organisation.
  10. How come most of the lower leagues in England are still playing?
  11. Okay, let’s not be pedantic. on the basis that we (FFC) haven’t signed anyone, then, in practice, it doesn’t matter.
  12. Fair enough but this is an FFC forum. Toddle off back to your dump.
  13. Yes, you are correct. The window wasn’t open in December therefore doesn’t apply in practice.
  14. Furlough relates to people employed on the date we were closed down. I see also that the SG have announced a further grant of £9000 for leisure businesses that are closed. i imagine FFC will qualify or at least part thereof for the period we’re closed.
  15. Yes - average death age is still well into the 80’s and total UK deaths in under 60’s is still only around 400.
  16. Don’t agree. Yes, people will catch it but it’ll be at a manageable level. There is no way the general population will agree to living their lives like this on a permanent basis. Human beings are sociable creatures and being cooped up, muzzled and kept apart reduces us to no more than zombies. Life is full of risk - Covid will just join cancer,MND, Parkinson’s, bad seasonal flu, premature death you name it. Maybe we just need to accept a higher death rate? All part of the rich tapestry of life.
  17. The only way out of this mess is to get everyone vaccinated, especially NHS staff, the old and vulnerable. Once that is done it doesn’t really matter about the young and fit as the folks they can contaminate will have had the jab. After that, there is nothing more the state can do and just like seasonal flu everyone just needs to ‘take their chances’. To that end the roll- out programme needs to be dramatically expanded. 163000 to date is just pitiful out of 560000 available. Like Israel we should be doing this on a 24/7 military basis. I don’t know any folks in my age group who have heard anything yet most of our friends down south have had their first jab. Maybe somebody can tell me otherwise regarding their parents, relatives? Well, that’s how I see it. Will certainly miss the football even though it’s crap. Just need to step up online bridge matches.
  18. Not possible in the UK. You can go to certain Arab states and pay.
  19. SG has received 500000 doses. Vaccinations carried out by yesterday were 163000.
