Hard fought win for Darvel, just about deserved in very difficult conditions! Referee and assistants were first class! Poor show from the Petershill bench. Well done the Vale! And good luck!

Darvel were very poor today, Petershill well worth their draw. The home team played the plastic pitch much better than Darvel - one to forget for them.

What's going on at Darvel? Their best player sees red, gets sent off, is sacked. The "replacement" changes his mind. Is the manager up for this? He talks a lot - maybe he should have stayed "amateur". All at Darvel should forget the "banter" and get on with the job in hand!

Disappointing performance from Darvel today, 2 up, opposition player sent off, yet again fail to put game to bed. But still a win - 3 points in the bag and result never in doubt. (Knapp greatly missed!) Always like to give the referee benefit of the doubt when there are no linesmen but today's official was poor.

John(ny) Leckie - Darvel's greatest player - in poor health - talks fondly of his time at Darvel - played as a Bellfield BC player. in a Kilmarnock FC 2-0 win over Dundee Utd and, of course, in the 1976 cup final - Congratulations to the Legend, Pieman or J.Gall - great things happening at Darvel - I recall a 3-0 win over Parkhead standing under the 'predecessor' of the new enclosure. All the best for the season!

Who is Darvel Legend? Who is The Pieman? Who is John Gall? Are they the same person? Has Johnny Leckie (Darvel greatest ever player) - recently - ever been invited to Recreation Park? He is not in great health but talks fondly of his time at Darvel and the 1976 cup final. (A Bellfield BC player he played for Kilmarnock in a 2-0 win over Dundee Utd). The 'new' enclosure is not new - I watched Darvel from a 'barn' in the same position. Happy days!

One idiot I heard was also claiming that Whitletts practice tackling in training. Darvel could not handle the physicality. They moaned about it at every opportunity.
Nonsense? He ran 50 yards and invited the spectator to come closer and "have a go". Then he thought better of it and retreated to his dugout where he should have been in the first place. So - I suppose he was challenging "the idiot". Physicality? His actions were a disgrace and he should be above that. He needs to take a long hard look at himself.

I don't agree - players and officials suffer dogs abuse every game - much more severe than the Whitletts coach did on Saturday. I've never seen a player or a referee challenging their abusers to a fight. He was out of order, should be ashamed of himself and had he been seen or heard by the referee he'd have been sent off and ordered to appear before the appropriate authorities. No excuses!

Whitletts coach was out of order challenging fans to fight. Vernon deserved to be substituted - hasn't kicked a ball in last two games and is missing chance after chance. Other than a 20 minute spell after half-time Darvel were better side by far - and played much better after substitutes came on. Good referee let play flow as much as he could considering he had no linesmen. Get Jenkins back from Dalbeattie. Darvel coaching staff still looking for their top 11 - but they're getting there.

Better team? Maybe - just. Hell of a park? No. Two ordinary teams playing on a park that was too big for them. Whatever happened to passing on the ground? Darvel maybe slightly the better team in the first half but could have lost it. Good referee considering no linesmen. Armour has to start. Vernon? Lazy! Maybe he is a potential match winner but the one chance he got today he fluffed. Maybe he should listen to his management team and not his father! A luxury Darvel can't afford. A team struggling to consolidate. Disappointing.
