Looked like BBC Scotland built a camera platform lower down in the old Railway Stand, below the usual RaithTV position. Someone suggested it was due to the weight of their equipment being too much for the normal position.

BBC didn’t use the gantry before, not enough room. Their cameras were on scaffolding too in previous seasons but it was further back in the stand. Can’t go as far back because there is an area that is now used where they used to be.

  2. Most cameras you see on highlights in the Championship are manned (including Rovers). Don’t know what United’s set up is but Pixelott AI cameras are installed at every ground, however not often used by the clubs for highlights, they are instead used for an SPFL streaming service. Folk watching illegal streams quite often watch the pixelot feed thinking it is a club TV feed.

I'm guessing the highlights were provided by Ayr, now this is meant as no disrespect to anyone involved at either Ayr or Raith TV but the camera angle is poor whybwas it so low down?

The RaithTV highlights for this game were filmed by RaithTV in the only space allowed to film, which was a pitchside gantry in front of home supporters. There will be a credit on the highlights package if the footage was provided by someone else.

As to why that’s the only filming position, that’s one for Ayr. At Stark’s a cable is run from one side of the pitch to the other to try and get the best angle possible and keep the cameras from both clubs undercover, but this may not be possible there.

There is a lot to like about Hamilton and he is clearly an excellent nunbee 9 but we are yet to see this lethal finishing that we saw him do for Arbroath so often. Looks a wee bit short of confidence in front of goal.

One for @Roath Raver, why have we not included Stanton being (possibly) fouled when clean through? Was keen to see that again.

Chances are noted down during the game. Some are missed, but some people’s interpretation of a chance is different I would say. Could argue it was a defensive tackle outside the box with a man coming to cover that the ref had good sight of and saw no issues with… so that is probably why it wasn’t noted down.

When we do a stream of the game, like we were able to yesterday, there is a full match replay available to season ticket and RaithTV pass holders if you want to see anything back.

    On the highlights.

First off, Raith TV and all the folks involved do an unreal job - so grateful and appreciative of all the work!

On the comms/no comms - I can see it both ways. My preference is no comms (for the crowd noise).

One wee thing I would really enjoy seeing is a little more of the celebrations after a win. There was a couple of really good minutes at FT (couple of songs, freed from desire and then the players and Murray connecting) - a wee 30 seconds of the high points from celebrations after a win would be great viewing (and is good PR!). If the folks at Raith TV think it a good idea and its easily done, it would be great to see!

There are some challenges with stuff after the match. We have to get ready for post match interviews fairly quickly after the match and, with limited equipment, RTV basically have to pack up rapid and fire over to the interview area so can’t film for much longer after the final whistle. Not to mention the music playing at the end of the games can mean there are copyright claims on videos on YT if they are heard for too long.

When we have extra volunteer support and equipment, we’ve done celebration stuff in the past (see the end of the Motherwell highlights last year). Definitely something RTV will capture if we can though. You might also see some celebration stuff on social media outside of the highlights if captured elsewhere.

Ultimately, more content = more time to produce. Think RTV have been pretty good at getting highlights out at the earliest possible time the vast majority of weeks. We know there are a lot of people who like to see them then. It won’t be the case every single week because sometimes people have things on, but RTV will try to keep up the percentages fans have been used to again this season. RTV will put a post up on its social channels when highlights will be up later than usual.

Making the deadline involves working until late on a Saturday every single week, so there needs to be a bit of balance between making something good that is also manageable within the times volunteers can commit to.

Generally, the highlights won’t have comms and there will be a video on social media put up with the goals with comms on the RTV channels later when it is applicable. There are no plans for RTV to change this. If you hear the comms on the highlights in the near future, there is some sort of technical reason for it (for example we’ve been given footage with other comms on it or the sound on the video has an issue). If there is a decision to put comms on them permanently (to make them more accessible, for example) we will outright say.
