Fallin -2 in a local derby . Have you seen both teams this season ?

    Yes. Multiple times.

Braehead had momentum and had they won on Sat they may have carried that on to this week. Just feel they have had the wind knocked out their sails. Going out the majors back to back is not uncommon.

Fallin are a better side and have more big game experience over the last couple seasons.

Why good luck to the ref?

Some of the support on the sideline were completely away with it (drinking, grappling with players taking throw ins etc) and would be interested if the ref reported any of the handbags at FT in his match report.

At the very least he should have assistants. There will be red card(s) in the replay.

To those quoting rules etc, this is a genuine question.

IF a team raised a problem with, for example, corner flags and the referee didn’t know he/she should have captains sign team lines what would happen? You can hardly ‘punish’ a team because the referee didn’t know what they were supposed to do.

Like I said, it’s a genuine question and not designed to criticise anyone.

Referees are quick to use the old “check the rule book” shout when they are justifying their decisions during a game.

as rob roy says, if they aren't aware of protocol, they shouldn't be doing the job.

My understanding is Harestanes don’t have to appeal,if ref has asked home team and there’s no corner flags he will finish game and say in his report no corner flags were present,it would then go to committee level and if found to be the case Laurieston will be disqualified for breaking rules and harestanes will go through to next round

Spanner and works spring to mind 😂😂

  7. If it was mentioned at ht then the ref should stop game until they sort it. Especially at 0each its an easy call to make.

maybe they just appealed it so they can get another big breakfast at Nonnas..

  8. Some cracking ties this weekend in the last 32. I'm surprised not to see more Saturday morning teams left in, given their good results earlier in the season.

Tie of the round for me is the Castlemilk v Shortless game. Home win for me.

Good luck to all left in.

  9. Todays result was never in doubt. This is the time of year that mick and his players will be licking their lips at. Tick the big games off one at a time and see where they end up.

Mick and the squad will will have played in more big games than the players they are coming up against in the league and scottish cup, with the exception of one or two teams.

they will be very happy with where he is at this stage of the season.

  10. Good squad and good result. Although Whitburn are a poor lot.

Re Knapp. The Select manager has always had a difficult task picking his strongest team, usually due to the fact the good players have a little baggage that comes with them. Saw it with numerous players over the years, misbehaving when away etc. Manager then gets told he cant select certain individuals.

When was the last time they've won the Inter League Trophy again????

i don't know. When was the last time the CSAFL played its strongest team possible?

  12. For me it shows what a shambles the Scottish game has become. Quarter of the way through the season and a Junior team need to look to a successful Stirling and District level group of players and management team to keep going.

I find it hilarious that a team who last week, harped on about how good "their" facility is, join forces with a team who have recently been horsed out the very same facility.

Laurel and hardy don't have a look in with these guys.

  13. Very difficult to get it right as scottish/west ties get called off then its the following week, so hard to find a date that would suit all players of the top teams.

i personally think its a bit of a non event, given that players would no doubt prefer to be in scotland set up, and its a bit much to ask the top players to commit to all 3 teams.

selects and scotland managers are onto a hiding to nothing in terms of players selected (or not) and where games fall in relation to club fixtures.

    Thorn

    Giffnock

Dumbarton (would change that if it's true about them losing a number of players though)

    Milton

    Cambusbarron

    Kilsyth

Cant see Milton being near top of the league. outside top 6.

Doune, Callander or Kilsyth for the winner.

  15. I would agree with the aforementioned pyramid type system for amateur to follow Scottish leagues in general. However I don't feel all clubs would benefit from going back to regionalised games, as the cream would come back to the top anyway and would have wasted a year or so.

Teams should be asked to apply for super league set up 1 or 2 leagues, governed by the SAFA, those who don't apply should be grouped locally. The promotion to super league set up could be play off from all regional winners and relegated teams would go back to their local area.

Super league teams should have ownership of facilities. long term sponsors (guaranteed for couple of years), proof of funds to be sustainable etc etc.
