Remember last season saw us bring in 400k for Kingsley, 200k Gallagher, 300k for a televised cup 1/4 final, good ST, decent strip sales, and six figures from Little Mix. That is why we now have cash.

The club has cash because it no longer loses £600k before any of this sort of unpredictable stuff comes in. Previously these losses just soaked up this cash and didn’t improve the bank balance. This is also why it will have money to invest in January.

Given the current situation that we find ourselves in any director going near hospitality would be like entering the lions den and no one in there right mind would do that.

That situation just goes round in cycles and has been the case for years. Dis-trust and no togetherness. Board are all arseholes....fans abuse the board......board avoid fans.....board are remote...board are all arseholes....fans abuse the board.....board avoid fans...board are remote etc etc etc.

Just had enough. I have spent a fortune this season already watching an utter pile of shite.

In hospitality yesterday Muirhead was interview after the game. To paraphrase he said “I think some have come here from abroad and England and they thought Scottish football was some sort of holiday camp. We all need to get a grip or we are in big trouble”

But 7 of the starting 11 came from Scottish teams?

I am in the wait and see camp after the summers debacle. How fit is he? What is his fitness record like. Decent signing on paper. But till I see him I am reserving judgement

Sometimes you need to take a mitigated risk though. How long would it take to “reserve judgement”? When should a decision to sign (or not) be made?

It seems ironic that people are now looking for a fans organisation to buy shares when a few years back one existed to do just that. And that it ultimately folded because of lack of fan support.

Or at least I think it did; maybe it still exists legally and those shares are in abeyance somewhere waiting for someone to claim them. Or were they owned by individual fans and the Trust had proxy to use them for  voting at things like AGMs?

If folk are wanting a new fans shareholding group I'd suggest finding out what the status is with the previous one. I think BPM may have been the last ever Chairman of it. Brian Guthrie would certainly know.

The club held two supporters' open evenings last year with reps from St Mirren, Motherwell and Hearts fans groups to share their story and to see if there was interest in fan/community ownership.

30 turned up to the first one and less than 10 for the second one.

The problem Falkirk and all other teams with academy's outwith the elite are/were going to have is that the elite academies are going to hoover up all the best players, even more so than before. They are going to be sell it that only by playing in the top tier are you going to develop to be the best player you can be. So, Falkirk and all the other non-elite clubs are going to struggle to recruit players and if by chance they do, Celtic, rangers, etc will come along and take them and pay minimum compensation. It'll barely be worth running an academy for the return. Alternatively, clubs like Falkirk can wait on the drop-outs from the elite academies at 18/19/20 and sign them then and give them the platform to play first team football and develop from there. Take Zak Rudden, Andy Irving. They might not make it in the first team at Rangers and Hearts, but they might at Falkirk if they get released. That's where Falkirk and the rest have to look. And, it doesn't cost the running of an academy.

Commonly known as the "Brentford Model".
