First 20 odd minutes of the other semi final, neither time looking too great, Inverness creating more chances however the colts being clinical where it counts.

Thought it was an even first 10/15 when we probably had the majority of the chances but never tested Fox.
The remainder of the half was all Thistle and very nervy for us, however, probably the first goal I’ve seen from a header in what feels like ages.
The second half was the complete opposite as I felt we controlled large portions and played some good football on a poor surface with Thistle not getting to close to us. Hendry’s goal was a touch of class and so was the celebration! The last ten were incredibly shaky and when the goal went in I was convinced they’d come back.
Great effort from the whole team with a special mention to Benedictus who was absolutely brilliant and brought back the best of his form we’ve seen from him. Buzzing for the final now, only thing left to see if the opposition.

Difficult game against Inverness but also difficult against the colts, tremendous performance tonight and a deserved party for now. Back to league business soon however, something more important than the trophy.

Big performance needed today, regardless of how the Airdrie fans feel about it with our away form - which has somewhat gotten better this season - anything can happen, stick with the same as last week and tighten up defensively and we can put ourselves into a good position to bring home an important three points.

Would be happy with McLean can definitely do a job at this level, only worry is that he’s not played week in week out this season and could take a strain on his body with the parks. Would the Anderson loan be replaced by McLean or is that our replacement for Gullan?

Not too sure on the Peaky Blinder’s look but he’d be a great option if the rumours are true about him signing after the game. Gullan playing today might all but confirm we won’t get him back. I’d like us to look at another striker as a back up option if Miller really doesn’t work out, Mansell’s stats certainly don’t excite me.0 -

Probably worth a punt but also while bringing someone else in as insurance, this is vital for our season we need a striker who’s going to score goals
