I heard that Whitletts had a few players missing today.

was there a falling out with Grierson??

Must have had same players missing through preseason and first three games as they’re team selection has been pretty consistent throughout.

It was considered Grierson done them a wrong turn in the manner in which he left, took the team to Saltcoats and then left them weeks later.

    Predictions for the positions.

i think Maybole will do well this season. Carlo is a good manager and will show this season. Arthurlie look strong with new signings.

other Ayrshire teams like muirkirk Lugar will struggle imo.

Whitletts maybe dark horses for the league but I think we have what it takes to beat them.

    This has aged well already

Took in the game against Muirkirk today kirk were deserved winners VOC could and should of had 3 players sent off, they looked like a bit of a gang today

Got to agree with you George. Number 9 landing a punch in front of the referee going unpunished was a strange one.

muirkirk were never really tested or under pressure out with playing against wind in first half, second half was all played in vale of Clyde half. Good 3 points for them.

  4. If you think new Tinto is bad you’ll have had kittens at Gartcairns MTC Park where Blantyre and Muirkirk played today. I’m not sure how the ground can be in the Juniors it’s just a normal sports centre park with advertisements stuck to the fence, wide open and absolutely no shelter.

That can't be correct. We beat them to win the league in April/May this year.  Good record nonetheless

Just checked 259 days. Carluke beat Muirkirk two days after Lanark. Good to see you doing well hopefully back to back promotions!

  6. Muirkirk are exactly half way through won 12 lost 2 and couldn’t be happier. Beat promition rivals yoker home and away now, beat vale of leven away in the league and battered them in the cup at home and still to play them at home in league. Not played Johnstone yet but looking forward to it.

long way to go but this has been a great season to date. Seen the club posted on social media they haven’t lost of home league game for nearly 300 days!

  7. Paul Lovering is an great shout! Bens not cash rich by any means but what a job has been done.

Jamie Nesbit for what he done at Royal Albert.

Stuart Davidson at Largs has go to be worth a mention and as someone has already mentioned Muirhead at Muirkirk, took a team of whipping boys and got them playing exciting football, committee man told me he’s got more points this season than muirkirk had in a total of seven seasons prior to his arrival.

  8. Well known Glasgow team called their game off at 8am saying pitch was frozen last week. Then by 930am the park was fit the play the champions league final on. No keeper, few injuries and a boy in Cyprus watching Scotland had no bearing on the decision though.

While were on the subject why are clubs allowed to call off a game without a referees inspection?

Absolute shambles games being off today there is no chance (apart from Miaybe forth

it was light dusting of frost and was clear in Glasgow by 9:30
the  ants is Neva off  movie cos they were rushing around to sign a goalie last night ?

Exactly! Common knowledge, no keepers, players injured and others in Cyprus watching Scotland.

i am still waiting on the fixtures secretary to answer my question as to why St Anthony’s can call a game off without a pitch inspection....

A really terrific performance last night, well worth braving the cold for. A damn shame we couldn't get just rewards for the performance in the shootout. Can't fault any of the boys and if we can carry that kind of form to the league games, I'm confident we can get promotion.

It’s going to be a tight one this year. Could be any three from Vale of Leven, Muirkirk, Burgh, Yoker and Ashfield I think. Although looking at how Muirkirk destroyed Vale of Leven today perhaps they’ll now fall away if they turn in that performance in the league.

  11. A much better performance from Kirk tonight. Back to playing for each other and battling away. They’ve looked tired in recent weeks but much better tonight. Carluke should be a cracking game on Saturday, two games up there this season have been tight

  12. Aaah didn’t realise Kieran had left Wishaw. According to you it’s now Irvine Vics, Larkhall, Ardrossan, Darvel, Ardeer, East Kilbride and now Wishaw. Looks like he’s looking to move then. I’m sure Kieran went to Wishaw a couple of weeks after our manager came in not many manager stay at a club for two weeks and leave again though. You seem to be a man in the know yo-yo finger in every pie

Lovely finish vale 3rd goal. As predicted muirkirk have bottled it

Was an excellent finish. As was the composure shown by the young 16 year old boy Lenny who came of the bench. Not sure Kirk bottled it more likely ran out of steam, injuries to players like Steedman and McVey really hurt the smaller squad in the closing stages. Really hope to keep the manager he’s been excellent since he came in

Just to be clear, I’m not this poster having a go at Muirkirk, I’ve enough going on in my life to worry about.

As for the thumping we took from Talbot, yes that was very hard to take, I wish you all the best as I enjoyed my time at Muirkirk. You should maybe have tried to contact me 1st to ask if this poster was me, before having a go at me.

    Regards George

Maybe have a word with your ‘connection’ as he’s embarrassing you all over this site not just in this particular thread.

  15. There he is. Go away George your making an absolute fool of yourself. The job Kevin has done in turning the train wreck you left into a very good footballing team has been excellent.

Yes today was poor but I think you’ll have to travel a long way to say Muirkirk are embarrassing now, not since you departed anyway.

I myself, along with the rest of the supporters and committee couldn’t be happier with the way the team are just now. Hardest part will be stopping much bigger clubs tempting Kevin away.
