So you're saying that if you had a pedophile working for your club and someone criticised the decision to employ them, then that criticism would be invalid? Trying to shut down people calling out that sort of behaviour on the basis that it is merely "point scoring" is clearly worse.

Hopefully you lot have a bad start to the season so that trumpet can be sacked asap

Please just go away, if you are that passionate about racism go and campaign about it on the streets. Being a keyboard warrior on a football forum is not going to stop racism. Move on from 2014.....its tiresome.

    Back to the football.....🙏

  2. Seems a very strange one, and obviously i agree that his remarks were disgraceful and probably not something you should be able to come back from. The timing feels terrible as the fight against racism has never been stronger everywhere else in football. Very strange, maybe it will be a super league situation with a u-turn due to fan power but who knows.

I will be sticking with County though because changing clubs is really only acceptable if you are 9 years old and even then its a bit of a dodgy move 😂

Kennedy would have been an interesting option too but this will just bring negativity so it's a shame

  3. Bad news about Mckay especially after such a brilliant performance from him.

There should be enough attacking players in the squad to fill the void though and hopefully players like Mcmanus or graham would grab the opportunity. Im not sure how long Stewart is meant to be out for but if hes back soon that will soften the blow too.

What a season for injuries though, will be a hell of an achievement to win the league if we do manage to!

But I'd hope their brand new starting 11 does not click immediately. Meanwhile we just need to keep getting points on the board so they don't catch us.

Me too. I thought they had already become a force when they went on the wee run after Neilson took over but they were soon brought back down to earth.

Fingers crossed County keep winning anyway as you say and Dundee United and Ayr won't be an issue.

Today's huge though, the away form must improve dramatically and hopefully it will start now!

Sounds like another central belt player who patched a move north because he thinks that County play in the Arctic circle and you need to take a train, plain and reindeer hauled sledge to get there.

Haha i'm glad someone else thinks this too. Its crazy how this is still a problem when recruiting players, you would honestly think we were based in the faroes and not 12 miles away from the capital of the highlands and a city which has an airport.

But to be fair to Ayr United he may have just prefered moving there for other reasons, who knows

  6. Not too fussed about Miller but  gutted about not getting Marshall unless there's still late news to come through. I'm just hoping that somehow the lazy journalists have missed one in their frenzy of excitement over United's activity. Think i'm kidding myself on though, never mind overall its been a decent january window for County so can't complain too much.

  7. I take it we didn't get Marshall? Can't find anything else about it. Shame if so.

Dundee United had a strong window. Is anyone worried about them?

I am a bit but i think we'll get on a bit of winning run now and will stay ahead, hopefully anyway. Reynolds and Pawlett look like very good signings in particular but if we do our job we won't have to worry about them.

True, but they've also signed  a couple of players who just happened to be available, and who probably aren't an improvement on what they've already got.  Lewis Spence and Kenny, I'm looking particularly at you.

Yeah i wasn't too excited about Spence or Van Der Weg either but Semple and Armstrong seem like they will be good signings and hopefully Boyle will be solid.

Fingers crossed anyway and a change in our fortunes when it comes to injuries wouldn't go a miss either!

I think that's been plainly obvious - he's been playing within himself for a while.  At least with these two new centre backs Watson can push out to his usual right back slot if necessary, and you have three or four options at centre back still.  Left back will be Kenny until further notice, I'd imagine.

The injuries have been insane.  And they aren't contact injuries, either.  Slightly concerning.

Yeah, the Defence looking a lot stronger now after the signings so the managers have done well to address the problem.

The injuries haven't been good but thats just the way it goes sometimes. I'm just thankful that Stevie and Stuart went out there in the transfer market and got some signings in to strengthen the problem areas

Looking a lot healthier now for the run in!

Serious questions need to be asked about our medical staff, I think. Some injuries (such as Fontaine's) can't be helped, but we've got a run of persistent and niggling injuries on key players that just doesn't seem to be coming to an end. If we'd been able to put out a first choice eleven (or even close to it!) where would we be? Having to desperately thrash out makeshift defences from week to week seriously hasn't helped.

I see what you mean about the medical staff but the biggest clubs in the world with the best medical teams in the world suffer the exact same sort of problems with niggling and reoccuring injuries.

In the same way that we have had some good years with next to no injuries this one has been a bad one with loads of injuries, its just the way it goes sometimes and its just bad luck at the end of the day.

I think its fair to say we would have had a few more points if we didn't have any injuries but all things considered we're doing not too shabby sitting top. All be it with a bit of luck along the way haha

I do miss the days of seeing MARK HARD on Sky Sports news.

He's the total opposite of Kenny- decent with the ball at his feet and can occasionally ping a worldie of a pass, but for a guy who must be near 6'3" he's abject at physical situations.

I thought that was the case from the what little i've seen of him.

Seems technically good with a good left foot and a good pass but maybe lacks the real grit or fitness levels to grasp hold of the left back position and make it his own.

    Cheers

Caley have as good as handed the trophy to Ross County tonight.

    We'll always have Forfar.

Yep it was a nice favour but everyone knows its FAR from over.

The more positive Caley fans around are maybe  looking at their team going on a run and potentially catching up as they have just beaten probably the team of the season so far in their own back yard.

County though will hopefully continue to win and won't need anymore favours and life will be absolutely hunky dory :)

Morris and Fontaine might not play regularly for County again.  Fontaine could probably play in the Premiership if County go up, but I don't really fancy Morris prancing about up there.

Grivosti, on the rare occasions I've seen him, looks a little raw still to me.  For someone with such a track record in youth development, Ferguson (or Kettlewell) doesn't really seem to like playing young guys in the fist team.

Edit:  Andy Boyle seems like an interesting signing.  Going by his twitter feed, he has his own name tattooed on his chest, has absolutely shocking taste in fashion, and he's been capped by the r.o.i.  Not horrific for a back up centre half, I guess.

Without trying to sound too negative about the squad i wouldn't say i'm too excited with the thought of many of them trying to compete in the premiership if we go up.

You would hope that from now until the end of the season the boys will be playing out of their skin to not only win the league but to prove they are worth keeping on for the step up if we're still there come the end.

I think if we do finish top there will be an overhaul but as to how dramatic that will be will depend on who shows their worth in the coming months

It will feel a lot different to going up previously anyway, where we had a really good footballing team and it was more about hanging on to talent than going out and finding it.

As for the Youth players getting a chance in the first team, i think if the managers thought they had any that were ready yet to be trusted properly out there on a regular basis and would be a better option than what we have then they would put them in there.

I would say this season was never going to be about bringing the youth in because the club are desperate to get back up as quickly as possible and that means we need experience over potential.

Overall i think they've done pretty well in the window and hopefully the additions will help us get back where we want to be!
