maybe he will play Kidd and move McGhee back into CH or play brough as a CH
Kidd will be at RB with McGhee moving in one IMO. McKinnon is basing the side on defensive solidity, which Robson can't provide in a back 4.

Well we’re past midnight ....so that’s it then....
No it isn't. We can sign free agents until the end of March.

Quite happy with Todorov. At least he has that bit of experience. The fact Harrison has signed for spennymoor town tells you all you need to know about his ability. Good riddance.

Any who exactly were Ray's original targets Edi?
I don't know but he said last week that he'd agreed terms with a premier league striker who then turned us down. There could have been a similar situation with others.

I dont see how he can be a panic signing if weve been watching him throughout the transfer window.
I'd like to think he's been watched throughout the transfer window as a back up option in case our original targets didn't sign.

I think it's quite obvious Jarvis is a bit of a panic singing since Ray's original targets have turned us down. I'd like to think we could have at least got someone with more experience in though.

Were you expecting Lewandowski FFS!
I'd have liked a striker who at least has experience of scoring goals in a professional league tbh.

Can't imagine us having any issues paying £40k.

The negativity on here is unbelievable, we had a team of world beaters in the summer until we seen them, now anyone with eyes can see how we've improved but we're going down, not strong enough etc. Why are so many running down Laverty? Looked ok while on the park Saturday. Ok, Sammut etc didn't make the step up from english under 23s but are we forgetting where Robson, Nelson and the Jak were playing?
Would rather play Petra or Laverty than hippo, with 14 games left we'd get 1 good game out of him if we were lucky!
Petravicius is absolutely average at best and I'll be disappointed if he's anything more than an impact sub.

If Hippo signs I think Mackinnon would want to go with this
Burgoyne
Kidd/McGhee McKenna Edge Dixon
Waddington McShane Osman Hippo
Rudden New ST
We'd also have loads of options off the bench like MacLean, DKD and Petravicius

If that's our striker, can Arbroath not go into free fall of the top of the league, quite fancied a few piss ups next season there.
I dont mind Hippo tbh but as I repeatedly said to the Fifers, he is not a striker
I'd hope Hippo would be in addition to a striker. We're not bursting with options at left wing.

He's not a world beater but better than all of our attacking options at the moment.

Hippolyte would be an excellent signing in our current predicament.

And there you have it - the net effect of our BOD's brave new strategy & Paul Hartley's recklessness.
We are now stuck in a vortex of loan signings, free agents , desperate short term deals on cast offs & constantly changing our near full squad every window.
They are totally wasting OUR money over and over again..
Welcome to the future folks.
So you'd rather the BoD offered long term deals to championship players on championship wages when there's a strong chance we'll be in league 1 next season? Can't see how that could possibly go wrong.

There's no way we're paying 45-50k a year basic surely. At least not to lots of players. That's about 200-250 season tickets per player.
There will be very few first team players on less than 45k a year. Season tickets aren't our only source of income. The likes of Dixon and Osman will be on over £1k a week.

Not sure if the reports linking us to Lee Erwin are accurate but he'd be just what we need IMO. Experience and a bit of quality to help Rudden upfront.

Incredible job? Honestly?
Comparing him with Hartley is like night and day, but comparing him with most Championship managers he’s pretty decent but nothing remarkable imo. He's managed to get points on the board with a squad full of players not good enough for this level. That's incredible in my view.
His signings are also looking good at this early stage.
Who would you rather have?

If the worst were to happen, I'd like to think Ray would be given the chance to bring us back up if he wants it. It was always going to be a very difficult task to replace an entire team of Hartley's duds and give us a fighting chance. He's done an incredible job so far in even having us in touching distance.

For me it looks like Partick have done the better business.
I'm not sure how you've reached that conclusion. Haskins and Cardle aside, they've signed no one of quality. Hazard is a bombscare of a goalkeeper.

I hope(and believe) that the Board of Directors would be willing to push the boat out with the wage budget to sign a top striker. I think the issue is more that we can't get one to come rather than any issue with finance.
I'm sure Ray has been looking for months for a 20 goal a season striker but a team at the bottom of the Scottish championship won't exactly have people queuing up.
Having said that, Conor Sammon would be an excellent signing at this level.

McKee is a good player at this level and can be an asset to the team with the right people around him. We're already well stocked in centre midfield anyway with Paton, Osman, McKee, Waddington, McShane and Kidd all able to play there.
I'd hope we can move on Harrison and Brough this week though.

Rubbish. We had an excellent grass surface when we were in the premier league and I don't recall us having big TV money then.
