Mood won’t improve over the next couple of weeks when the departures are announced. With a tougher league and probably a worse squad, this may have been the chance. Grim.

You can choose a player to score a 90th minute winner to send us up …. Who would you choose?

Couldn't make it up tonight after work but Raith TV is cracking. Miles ahead of any other one I've used and the commentary is excellent too.
Commentators are unbelievably reasonable.

Think it was better overall how it’s turned out. Could’ve guaranteed 3/4th and avoided any nerves on Friday. But chances of promotion there would be really limited. Second place is the best chance, and it’s a pretty good one, as would be surprised if Queens win and Raith have nothing to play for.

If we beat Arbroath and Morton don’t beat Queens then we’re guaranteed play-offs, correct?

Really thought this was a good squad at the start of the season. Why has it gone so sour? When you look at results against certain teams, it’s actually amazing we’re fourth.

Always enjoy other team’s website report:
“With greater composure Dundee might easily have won this game, but can hardly claim they deserved it, or even a single point. They made too many mistakes, all over the pitch and not only in defence. The defensive howlers speak for themselves, but the Dee did not use the ball well enough, made repeated mistakes and took poor decisions in midfield and attack where they repeatedly failed to capitalise on great openings. Thistle were tight and solid rather than brilliant. They took advantage of the Dee’s mistakes and deserved to win simply because they made far fewer blunders. Mistakes mean defeat. That was the simple lesson from today”0 -
Definitely short on strikers.

Wondering if Jakubiak could end up being our best striker who never scored a goal for us? If you disagree then name a better striker/forward who never scored.

Looking like the reverse of last March.

If we were actually able to play our games in hand … we’d be top, probably?

Can you think of a decent striker who we can sign on loan?
Fair point. All you can do is try, I guess.

Only got one more loan to go now, from what McCall was saying it'll be a defender
Crazy if we don’t try for a striker instead. Graham does sometimes fade in last 20 mins and there’s nothing at all from the bench at the moment.

Foster penalty, Akinola red, two pens not given last night … hard to say which is worst? Certainly on a bad run there.

Surely it’s worth selling him and trying to play Cammy Smith in the number 10 role behind Graham? It’s where he’s most effective and will likely contribute a fair few goals.
Rudden is a good player at this level but there’s ways around him if you decided to sell. The issue with Smith, IMO, is a lack of pace.

Rudden’s form isn’t exactly consistent. Has been pretty poor in some games. If we can get someone decent to replace him then I’d say it’s better to sell now. As mentioned, the worst case scenario is selling him too late.

Daft question, probably, but would people have been happier yesterday if we’d won 2-1? The longer the clean sheets continue, the bigger deal it is. Don’t want it becoming a distraction.

Is there any chance we can get Rudden to stay on?
0 -
Is Rudden likely to be sold in January? Not sure who’s spending money or what we’d accept.

This might be our best shot at promotion for a few years. Looking ahead, Rudden could be away soon (not sure when contract expires?), Graham getting older, same with Bannigan and Doc. Pessimism maybe!

What’s the calm / realistic view of things following Friday night? Trying to manage expectations!

Can’t remember a time when so few players will be criticised by the fans - even the players not starting. Only the keepers and Foster probably.
Akinola, Tiff and Rudden were great today.

Today is the day where we move from a pretty good start to the season to a pretty disappointing start.

Signing Hastie brings a lot of attention onto attacking options, which haven’t been this strong in ages. Can’t forget the midfield three though, who are equally strong. Only concerns now in defence!!

Could play Milne as a centre back as he’s good in the air.
