So you now agree that we should have kept 11 for 40 mins and a penalty. I’d say that’s two huge calls that definitely influences the win over a loss.

And I repeat, I’m well aware of the teams failings of which there are many. As long as they work as hard as they have the past 3 games we should finish mid table hopefully and rebuild in the summer.

Nope I'm not saying you should have kept 11 players on the park. What I'm saying is that in days gone by this sort of tackle was acceptable and me being old school I would like that to still be the case. However in the recent era referees are being instructed to come down on over physical tackles and unfortunately the tackle today came into this category. So in that respect the Ref made the correct call. The penalty claim as I said was 50/50 call  some you get some you don't and who to say if given you would have scored

Take it all accept Hurlford deserved the win?

  2. Hurlford showed today why they are one of the better junior teams out there. Excellent for the first 25min and worth there 2 0 advantage. Clydebank did well to come back however this was down to defensive errors rather than good play. Second half always looked that Hurlford were the more likely to go on and win the game. Can only remember the Hurlford keeper been tested once from a terrific shot and equally good save second half

Sending off- Unfortunately this type of challenge is more than likely to result in a sending off these days I personally didn't see much wrong with the tackle and imo the lad was making a genuine challenge. If anything a yellow card would have been suffice

Penalty claim - 50/50 on another day would have been given

Thought both decisions were soft from where I was standing, although some neutrals nearer the penalty incident than I was said to me later that it was an obvious, but unnecessary, push.

The match as a whole was decent IMO, and a draw was probably a fair result. We finished the game much better than Buffs so we're possibly nearer winning it, but over the piece there wasn't much in it. Thought Ryan Wilson was excellent for the Buffs, although MOTM was without a shadow of a doubt Gary Fleming, who had at least one save that a fulltime goalie would have been proud of, and he nearly saved our penalty.

Finally, a wee comment on the refereeing team - they were a bit too picky on some of the challenges for me, but they were totally consistent, and IMHO that's all we can ask at this level.

The decision on the Buffs disallowed goal. Whistle went a good bit before the ball hit the net

Good game to watch with Hurlford having the better of the chances in the second half with the stand in keeper making multiple saves to keep the sore level

    Draw a fair resulk

Took in the game tonight, Talbot just looked hungrier and fitter. Looks like another season of Talbot dominance

Don't think Talbot were hungrier or fitter thought it was a very even contest. Game decided on a disputed goal and a bad error for the second. For me Hurlford had the better chances  overall. Highly entertaining game contested by two committed teams

No doubt Talbot again the team to beat this season

I reckon over 400 at Darvel.

Great game at Darvel tonight with both teams going at it hammer and tongs

Even first half Darvel 1 up at the break

Second half dominated by Hurlford and should have won in the 90minutes. Hurlford win 3 2 on Penaties

Darvel will win their league in a canter big physical team who tried at times to bully Hurlford which didn't work but will probably work in their favour in Super First

Hurlford were excellent all over the park

Thought the attendance was over the 500mark

Hurlford United lost 2-0 at home to Queens Park. Disappointed to lose but management reasonably happy with the performance at this stage of the pre-season.

From what I heard not happy with the Ref though

Agree cracking left back and won't let you down. Can see a pass and class defender. He is suited to a team who plays the ball on the ground.

Same scenario at Pollok where he played second fiddle to Siderf. Was always going to be the same at Hurlford with Liddington and Mckillen first choice. Good left back on his day but better ones out there

I never claimed Conor is a great playeremoji52.png I'll reiterate, I said I felt comfortable watching him play. But if you want to push me, I'll say he's a lad I feel we'll regret letting go. Just hope he doesn't come back to bite our bum, along with Chris.

Always thought he was a decent player maybe flattered to decive. Would say he needs regular games to move forward

  9. Hurlford are fine

Think people are getting mixed up between the chairman and the guy who finances them

Last time I went down was at the Renfrew game. Very decent set up with a lot of hard working people about the place

Pitch was also getting criticised for years but from what I seen it was Immaculate on the day. Was told only one postponement all season

That tells me it can be done, People just have to think it the box on this idea. Just think An ideal oldstyle junior park hosting a potential all Ayrshire fina packed to the gunnels tense cup final atmosphere, no big gaps or empty stands. Fans near to the players.

A bit of jiggery pockery with the access gates, install mobile portacabins, mutual agreement with Morrisons on parking area and bam you have a decent cup final audience at a football ground.

I'll now await the same few to quickly find an excuse not to do it.

    Totally agree with this

No better way to watch a game
