The number of Airdrie fans that are on all our social media pages saying we were beaten fair and square by a better team 🤔 thinking they are some kind of Barcelona tippy tappy team is laughable 😂

We were well off it but Airdrie weren't much better, the match stats reveal a different story though. We created enough to win the game but they scored and we didn't.

That ref shouldn't be anywhere near a game at this level again. There's better refereeing Saturday amateur games.

What's laughable is anyone who was at the game yesterday thinking those stats are anywhere near correct...unless we're counting shots in the warm up there is no danger Raith had 14 shots

Firstly, the referee did give a free kick. Genuinely not sure why you’re trying to claim he didn’t.

Also, can I just check, were you at the game? Once the physios came on, You had multiple players surrounding the ref about it. Tod went over to check the keeper was alright and McCabe got in his face, waving his finger his finger at him etc. McPake even said we had to take Tod off because of the tension around that incident. If our manager felt the need to bring him off to protect him, I don’t know what you’re trying to achieve by outright lying, to claim that none of your team made a big deal about the incident to the officials.

If the keeper wasn’t feeling right, he did the right thing. However, at the time, everyone at that end of the ground seemed to get the same impression that the keeper looked fine, before McCabe told him to go down. I was worried about him after our equaliser, that looked a really sore one. But, I thought he looked ok after this one. However, having seen it back, looks like he wasn’t actually as ‘fine’ as I thought at the time. So I’m willing to hold my hands up and say I might have called that one wrong and I am genuinely glad the keeper’s alright.

As for asking why you’d be trying to slow the game down, you did this at every opportunity for the first 65 minutes, until we took the lead. So maybe you need to ask why that was your game plan? At least we only wasted time when we had a lead.

Also, if you were at the game, I find it hard to believe that you missed Frizzell going down in the centre circle holding his head to try and stop a counter attack. Just another thing that you’ve conveniently missed/forgotten.

We all see things from our own team’s perspective and yes, I’m aware I obviously have a biased point of view at Dunfermline games. But I seriously find it hard to believe that you didn’t see your players surrounding the ref after the incident between Tod and the keeper and I find it almost impossible to believe that you missed both that and the Frizzell fake head injury. The Frizzell one was so stupid. When the ball went out of play, he got up and ran to the ref to complain that play wasn’t stopped, ref asked if he needed treatment and he just said no, then ran off again.

Just watched both incidents back on our stream and you're having a nightmare here, nobody surrounded the ref after the Tod foul. The refs standing by himself for the full incident with our players more concerned about the goalkeeper.

As for Frizz apparently faking a head injury, he goes down as the balls played up from our defence towards your box, way before the ball is played over to Edwards(?) by your centre half. To claim he went down just to stop the counter attack is nonsense.

Might explain why Diamonds are Forever didn't see what your claiming.

I thought Gallagher was outstanding today. He had a tough shift up against three massive centre backs but he held the ball up really well, linked play with the midfield and possibly even got a rare goal from what looked like just outside the box. He’s always been a great goalscorer but his overall game has really improved this season. I can’t fault any of the players efforts today but Gallagher and Smith in particular put in a real shift as always.

It's amazing how under rated Gal is even amongst our own support...there's very few strikers our there at our level who guarantee the goals he brings every season.

Yes his touch and link up play can sometimes be poor but he's one of the best around at our level at playing the target man role and being a handful for opposition centre half's.

Very uninspiring list of names that, i'll reserve judgement until they play of course but surely some of these guys aren't much better than the likes if McDonald, Lyons, Allan etc what's the point of releasing them if we're gonna replace with them with these types of signings.

Surely it's better to take the chance on other youngsters who potentially could make the 1st team rather than re-signing the same players you know aren't going to be good enough? Worst case they sit on the bench and fill out the squad and best case one or two actually become a first team regular.

If you actually look at how last year's squad ended up at the end, we only had probably 14 first team players signed (that's including Allan and Lyons who you could potentially class as backup/youngsters) and the rest were made up with 5 youngsters and 5 loanees.

We'll always have the same sort of make up of a squad...expecting us to replace the likes McDonald, Allan, Walker etc with ready to go 1st team players just isnt going to happen!

It obviously looks worse when it's slowed right down. But I can absolutely see why that's a red. I'll sound the @pleslie99 claxon though.

I'd accept that if Frizz's foot was planted on his ankle then yes you could say your into red card territory however I don't see any of his boot on Carswell ankle...it looks slightly in front of his leg and catching the top of his foot. Also Frizz's foot barely comes off the ground when challenging for the ball, he's never going to cause serious injury with that type of challenge.

I can see why the red card was a red, and I think awarding a penalty for the MacLean shot that hit Fordyce on the arm would've been extremely harsh. Both could probably be argued, but I think Greg Aitken has got them right on second viewing.

Frizz's challenge is barely a yellow nevermind a red...he's a fraction late with the tackle for a ball he's well entitled to go for and catches the top of the player's foot as he's played the ball, absolutely no way that challenge can be classed as dangerous play.

Baffling decision from the ref who couldn't wait to get the red card out.

Pure guesswork on my part, but I don't think the club will know yet. Not unless there's been an instruction from the SPFL to all the teams. I think the number of fans is dependant on the level your area is in and there's still plenty of time for that to change.

If we have more season ticket holders than fans who're allowed in then it would seem sensible for the authorities to let live streaming continue.  Then again, it is the SFA & SPFL we're talking about.

Clubs are allowed to continue live streaming next season.

2nd paragraph in the below article confirms it.

Im pretty sure that if it wasn't for the injuries that he has had over the past  couple of seasons Euan O'Reilly would be in the St Johnstone first team squad by now.The injuries have held up his development and he now needs a run of games..There are obviously no guarantees but I reckon you have signed a very good player.

It was disappointing that we lost him so early last season to injury as he certainly looked a promising player in his few appearances he made for us. Looks a fast, direct winger who likes to run at defenders so could be a vital player for us this season. By all accounts he is injury free and in good shape so here's hoping he can really kick start his career this season.

If you go back a couple of pages you’ll find plenty of discussion on Kurtis Roberts.

He’s a player who’ll bring plenty of dynamism and energy to your midfield. Excellent on the counter attack. Was popular with the fans but face never fit with the management team for whatever reason - fitness or otherwise. His only consistent run in the team saw Airdrie go top of the league which I don’t think was a coincidence.

We never really got the best out of him but if you do you’ll have a very decent player, especially at that level, on your hands.

Interestingly saw on twitter Stuart Millar has said we offered Kurtis a new deal but he decided to turn it down.

I really liked Kurtis and thought he gave us something different in midfield but you could clearly see his fitness was an issue...more often than not after an hour he was blowing which usually resulted in him being subbed. Would have liked to have seen him sign on again however but he's definitely not someone who is irreplaceable.

Also, not sure I entirely buy into the idea that it was his consistency in the team that took us to the top of the league tbh, going back to that spell both Carrick and Gallagher really hit a real purple patch and they were both pretty much on the scoresheet every week. Not dismissing Roberts had a vital part (like many others) but I really think the two strikers were the catalysts during that winning spell.

How much is known by folk on here about Walker and Burke? I know Moore is a winger and Hughes is a striker but those two have been described only as defenders so I'm not sure if they're centre backs or full backs?

Pretty sure Burke is a centre half and Walker is a right back.

Never seen many reserve games last season but went to the cup final at Livingston and I was impressed with Walker. Looked a solid defender and had quite a decent game, not surprised to see him being kept on.

Losing out on Smith was disappointing but it was easy to understand. This one is baffling. I suppose it's hard to argue with Ryan signing for the club offering more money since it's his livelihood and at this level the money is important, but it's hard to understand how Stirling Albion can outprice us. If the money getting offered was truly more than Ryan's worth to us then fair enough that we haven't got ourselves into a pointless bidding war, but if we've been needlessly stingy I would be extremely disappointed.

I'd be surprised if it was only us and Stirling who were interested in him...plenty of clubs in the Championship and L1 would have been in for him no doubt so surely someone at that level would have snapped him up if it was down to us being needlessly stingy.

I'd say its more likely took a very lucrative offer to get him to head down to L2 and play part time.
