not surprised he is a decent player for that level, any news on players coming in?

Have heard some of the new players coming in are getting itchy feet already as not being told much at all with comings and goings.

Wonder if the official announcement will include a list of players that have moved on??

Correct the whole situation is a shambles the way they’ve handled this matter players are beta away from the club tbh writing is on the wall. Chairman listened to John Collins perhaps shambolic they will suffer bigtime.

All of the above are who I have heard are away as well. Pat Scullion as well, who finished the season with the club. So that’s 5 defenders and a goalkeeper all away. Plus the two wide players. From what finished the season I’m not sure if that leaves many more than 5/6 players.

That’s what I have been led to believe as well. The chairman seems happy to let them all go.

Exactly if am a player now am not wanting to sign for Gala they’ll find it very hard to attract players now due to all those good players leaving and word gets around quick in the football players talk.

  4. Personally I feel the chairman is calling the shots and tbh hats off to the new management team for wanting put up with that yes men springs to mind think the writing is on the wall for Gala next season hope am proved wrong tho. Replacing a good squad and was only gonna get beta with borders players good luck with that 1.

Think the decision itself and the fallout as a result of it will be looked back on at the end of season as a huge huge mistake by all at the club.

Without a doubt the club will be on a downward spiral now. Good football people and people that have a good knowledge of the game are in huge shock with it crazy decision so out of character. Can’t wait to see the new style of football the Gala way!!

Seems to be a lot of opinion against the decision which is a surprise to everyone and one that doesn’t bode well with some.

I think under the management of 18/19 we saw great strides in some areas but to what cost. The cost of watching attractive football certainly was a huge point and one that stopped me and many others from coming down. Long ball isn’t good to watch and wondered why any player would want to play that style of football.

Local players were always out of favour and replaced by City players who where not any better but would cost the club more for expenses etc - that I am certain of.

Gala has been good in the past for having a great mix of local and Edinburgh and this evidently was thrown out by the now previous footballing regimes.

As for social media we all have seen the local press and their website to gain the news - not sure why that point was so important other than to let the haters sabotage the post with bile.

The only bile here is you talking nonsense and proves your clueless and you’ve not made 1 valid point. Lost some cracking players for nothing that’s gonna hurt replacing them with local lads (haha).

Can see where guys are coming from, BUT, it’s the fifth tier of Scottish fitba and if they’ve signed a contract it’s no that simple

I’d make it 9 players with the two hibs lads who made a huge impact. Also any player that has a contract at Gala now would wanna rip it up.

Doesn't bode well for Gala. Whitehill have strengthened, albeit still no better than a mid table team, but you're spot on, Gala and Vale will be battling out the bottom two places I'd imagine.

Not at all the only direction there going  will be playing east of Scotland football in a years time basically a silly wee boy is the calling the shots at Gala real Shame!!

Yep, no experience in the league and the likelihood is he will struggle to get boys with experience in the league down to Gala. I am sure those who have watched Gala this season will be surprised at the news - they had a mad amount of injuries over the season and finished it with barely 11 fit players. Time will tell but it could prove to be a costly mistake for the new chairman

Yeah your spot on and they where only gonna get stronger which you have to be which is gonna be a highly competitive league this year. I just think Gala are a sinking ship under the guidance of this clueless chairman could be between Gala and Vale of Liethen who finishes bottom.

Led to believe that Neil Hastings has already got the job as per Krul and the Gang's post. Could be wrong about the current players leaving but Dean Shanks seemed to bring majority of that squad in and majority were Edinburgh based. If it is predominately borders players playing with them next season it will be a long season for Gala.

Yeah believe so a guy that was assistant manager at Berwick Rangers last season and no lowland experience good luck to him tho. Just think the new chairman has came in and totally out his depth and clueless and it’s a real shame as was one of Gala’s most successful seasons in a very longtime. I believe a few have left already from Edinburgh more to follow.

  11. A crazy decision they had a great manager and we’re building a great squad. This will come back to bite Gala without question club that credits themselves with how well there run have handled this shambolic. Can’t see anything other than them fighting relegation next year tbh. If most of there players leave who they gonna replace them with players from the borders not for the lowland league am sorry.
