Depressingly that first half might feel to Maclean a justification for keeping Considine and McGowan in the team. Which shows how much of a struggle we have ahead

Liam Gordon is not a footballer. It pains me to say it cos I don’t like the guy, but he’s a pound-shop Ryan Porteous. No ability and only useful as an enforcer. And he hasn’t the brains to enforce his presence.
And are we a very unfit team? Has preseason been hard enough?1 -
Until the signing is confirmed and he’s stood there holding his jersey I refuse to even believe he might be coming to us. We’ve been made to wait on every one so far. It shouldn’t be this hard to sign players.

This, this, this and a million times this. They’re slow, cumbersome, can not pass, try to run forward with the ball then when they inevitably lose it can’t get back quick enough (which is where the goal came from today).
Today was my first game in a couple of years cos I’m a glory hunter who only gets to European games (today was next to my house) and I’m already questioning why I would want to go to Alloa.

Probably couldn’t have asked for a better draw for personal reasons. Given how hard it is for me to get to games the chance to walk to Ochilview and even a short dip in the car over the water to Alloa is just perfect.

Would it be wrong to suggest that we just be grateful that we’ve got nearly three months of transfer window to go and plenty of time to play with? We’ve got the makings of a team to get us through the group stage of the league cup even without signings.

MacLean hasn’t improved things that much because in the five games he has been in charge, he hasn’t taken us to a cup double.

I don’t know how we did it, and quite frankly I really don’t care, but safety has to mean a totally changed team for the last two games. I don’t care about any other teams and their requirements. Sinclair has to play, Ballantyne and anyone else who is allowed. We’ve nothing to lose.
We’re safe. Maybe we deserve it, maybe we don’t. I don’t care. We are safe. Get it right up everyone else. Especially the Dundee lot. United or unUnited.

It is a thank you to Callum, what happened in 2021 will never ever be forgotten, but the time for change passed a long time ago. It’s time to move on and stabilise the club and team and get us safe asap

I was intrigued by that theory of not being backed in the market. How much did we spend on guys like Mahon? And I’m sure the signing on fees for guys like Carey and Considine would be considerable given that’s usually what it takes to sign free agents who have come from clubs who pay higher wages.
