  1. Kilwinning to Glasgow maybe but not to Celtic Park.

Oh sorry 5 minutes on the underground train. 30 mins. You do realise Ayrshire is pretty much a Glasgow overspill so Celtic and Rangers are supported because of families who moved years ago, that’s how football works for me. Passed from your Grandfather and Dad.

Sorry my Da didn’t let me support the old firm because it was toxic.

    Up the bigotry[emoji123]
  2. This is one of the rare occasions the cheeks will back each other as 90% of their support are glory hunters using the "My family have always supported them" argument.

    Says the Hearts fan.

How many supporter clubs outside Edinburgh? Loads of your fans come from places like Dunfermline and Livingston and further afield.

    Are these fans glory hunters?
  3. Worst attempt at justifying Old Firm glory hunting ever.
Paisley is 15 minutes away but that's not where you went is it ?
The Killie supporters bus leaving Kilbirnie would have got you to Rugby Park quicker than the Ceptic bus would have got you to Glasgow.
Your decision was reflected glory over geography .

I was brought up as a Celtic fan due to my Glaswegian family, surely supporting my Dads team is logical
  4. Absolute guff..... I suggest you take a wee look at the work Paul Di Giacomo & his team at KCST are doing in lots of communities all over Ayrshire.
We have used Pennyburn in the past amongst other places, today for example we used the Synergy Arena in Townholm, but it's not ideal as the facilities are pretty basic.
Having the artificial surface at Rugby Park, why wouldn't we want to train on our own pitch whenever possible?

Must be recent stuff? I remember they use to hand out tickets in the Ardrossan and Saltcoats schools years ago and they were doing stuff for other parts of Ayrshire. I see they do a food bank run yet it’s only for East but in my experience most Killie fans actually come and stay in North Ayrshire...

I’ve seen more community stuff done by the old firm in Ayrshire.

  5. My life is decent mate, how’s yours? I listen to it at night by the way. I like listening to the phone ins. Kilmarnock have been discussed loads on it all season.

Just like to say to the Killie faithful on here. I’m from North Ayrshire originally and glad I class my local team as St Mirren. Brought up a 15 minute train ride to Paisley. I’ve worked with Killie and yer a bunch of arrogant moaning b*****ds who look down on others who don’t support Kilmarnock being from Ayrshire not realising different parts of Ayrshire are actually closer to Paisley, Greenock etc.

Also a support that does nothing in the other Ayrshire communities. Some supporters only care about the town and nothing outside it. Goes to show why nobody goes near it - I read Kilmarnock were potentially going to train in Pennyburn and a quick look on the Killie forum and people were saying “can’t they do it in East Ayrshire” absolute joke of a support.
  6. Correct.
Imagine your life being that shite that you listened to that pish every day!

  7. The thing about Turnbull he could’ve walked in our midfield. This is a boy that scored 16 goals from the middle of the park last season and isn’t far behind the strikers. This is what Celtic needed, a bit of freshness from somebody that can run with the ball and make something happen like Rogic. Problem with Rogic he’s always injured.

  8. I'll have "things that didn't happen" for 10, please.

Ok. The caller was from Rothesay which I found weird. Kilmarnock fan from Bute? I’m really not bothered if you don’t believe me. I listen to the show every night and yes I do agree the Old Firm is discussed more but can you find a show that isn’t? I listen to them all, Off The Ball, Football Daft by Grado and Ewen Cameron who’s a Hearts fan yet Rangers and Celtic is mostly discussed. I think we know why.
  9. Lets not paint Celtic as some teams fighting the odds financially in terms of the EFL Championship, your wage bill is only £9m per year lower than fucking Valencia.

    Celtics wage bill is £59m.

That would place them 22nd in English football, so they'd be one of the top two paying clubs in the Championship.

EPL is a different matter though, Celtic are absolutely light years away from those clubs, Leicesters wage bill in 18/19 was more than double Celtics. Its no wonder they absolutely shat themselves when one of those teams got involved with Turnbull, if Celtic tried to compete financially they'd be blown out the water without Norwich even blinking.

    Nobody is.

It’s not all about money to players, people need to remember the Championship in England is a really good level. It’s a good competitive league, bigger clubs have more respect for players performing in the English league. We can provide European experience but recent campaigns nobody is getting the thumbs up so nobody is taking note of our players.

Also, Norwich aren’t a bigger club than Celtic. No where near the size of Celtic but why would Turnbull choose them over us? The league and the potential to play at the top is the obvious reasons to me. Celtic can win you trophies and get a few European games under your belt but until the board have more ambition this is how things are going to go in my opinion.

It wasn’t long ago Celtic Park was a fortress and not long ago we were in a UEFA Cup final.

  10. Think it’s a great appointment for Kilmarnock. I was listening to superscoreboard the other night and a Killie fan was on and he sounded pretty disappointed with the appointment. It’s amazing how up the arse Killie have got because they finished high up the table once in f**k knows how long. This is a club that had Alan Johnston as manager not so long ago and some people are moaning. What do they really expect? I genuinely think it’s an exciting appointment for Killie and Scottish Football.

  11. A decade ago you were regulars in the Champions League, beating the likes of AC Milan and Barcelona. Massive European sides dreaded going to Celtic Park.
Nowadays, your club is less of an attraction that Leicester City, Norwich City & AFC Bournemouth.

    Nah I agree,

It was a wake up call when Rodgers left for Leicester. Brendan was loved up here and was winning trophies while having a crack at Europe and it obviously wasn’t enough for him to stay so any decent manager will look at that and now avoid Celtic.

  12. Bigger fish eat the smaller fish. Scottish teams cant compete with the  English Championship never mind premiership teams. Scottish football is paid crumbs compared to other European countries those that run our game are not up to the job on so many fronts.

    Bang on,

I can’t really see it changing either. It’s great to see big names like Rodgers, Clarke and Gerrard giving it a go, Gerrard the last left and after him we won’t see it again, they’ve tried our league and it’s not for them - once Gerrard wins a title if he ever does he will be away.

The standard of refereeing, the empty stands and lack of competition is not appealing and it’s sad because having these big names up here was the chance to build our game up here but the SFA have done absolutely nothing in regards to that.
  13. I don’t blame Turnbull. He only has to look at Robertson, Wanyama and VVD careers since leaving our league. As a Celtic fan it saddens me we are seen as nothing but a stepping stone to the English league and Turnbull has excelled in a team full of shite players so now has his ticket to England. People keep saying it’s about the money but it’s the fact he’s a talented young player and that’s the big stage, Celtic ain’t an attraction anymore.

    But f**k him[emoji13]

  15. Hello lads,

I’ve been reading this forum for years and decided to start posting as I’ve deleted all my social media like twitter etc. I’m only interested talking about football and other interests I have and this forum gives me the chance to do so without having to scroll by rubbish I don’t want to see. I feel twitter and the likes have an impact on your mental health when you constantly see bad things on a daily basis. Like said it’s aw about the fitba to me and some other things so good to be here.

    Cheers
