Aye, I believe in Spain they’re basically treated as two separate clubs but I don’t think it’s a 21’s or colts team, more of a b team?

    THE SPANISH SYSTEM

no, in spain (here), the youth teams plays in the natural pyramid system, every player u24 who plays for the "B" team can rise up to the first team when the A team need him, but if the player play (I think 8/10 matches) with the first team he cant go down to the "B" team

in a colt team you can have players over 23years old, but they can go up to the first team

some teams sign extremelly good an experience players with more than 25 years old for improve their colt team and try to safe/promote it. players who never will play in the first team.

for instance barca or real madrid use to do that, some years villarreal too.

real sociedad or athletic use to play only with youth/academy players.

for instance my local team (logroñes), it is the 1th in 2ºb, so will play against castellon for going up, during the season we have played against colt teams like athletic, real sociedad, oviedo or valladolid,
our colt team is inside a division below (4th tier), with there are 16 groups

    -------------

every team has his colt team playing in the pyramid, maybe in 4th, 5th division. moreover, if the first team is in 3th division or better, it is compulsory have a colt team. it is extremelly good for the youth players, but some teams use the colt teams for earning money instead of improve youth players

    nowadays the pyramid system is:
    la liga - 20 teams
    la liga2 - 22 teams
4 groups with 20 teams each group in 2ºb. the first plays playoff against other first to go up, meanwhile 2th,3th and 4th (and 2 loosers of the firsts) plays 3 round playoff for another 2 going up

at the end of the next season will change, it will be created another division with two groups beetwen la liga 2 y 2ºb so:
    a liga - 20 teams
    la liga2 - 22 teams
    la liga3. 2 groups
4 groups with 20 teams each group in 2ºb. the first plays playoff against other first to go up, meanwhile 2th,3th and 4th (and 2 loosers of the firsts) plays 3 round playoff for another 2 going up

  2. I was a supporter of neilson so I am extremelly happy. probably was the only 2 years which we were a serius football team in the last decade

but if I was him, I never change premiership dundee united for hearts in championship.... moreover I think is easier finisth 6/8th in premier than 1th in champions

too much to lose, few things to win IMO

  3. year by year the signing politic is awfull. IMO saving the first tier  for a middle-big team as hearts, hibs or aberdeen would be enough with some good experience players and youth academy players. obviously with a good organization....

every year we sign lot of foreign players who dont contribute in anything, like langer or donis this winter (every market we have examples), or permanent injury players (haring or white)

if the team is relegated probably is more difficult go up from championship than safe relegation from premiership....

with the players that have been released, I wont keep any of them.... as the same with the manager/coaching team

rebuilt the team (again), young players and some extra-quality and experience who knows the league, it should be more than enough....

    something like that:

    -----------GORDON----------
    brandon--smith----souttar---hickey
    -----clare-----MCHUGH----irving-------
    walker------boyce-----naismith

plus halkett, cochrane, moore, washington or morrison....

  4. obviuolly in competite matches is where young players can develop better, Maybe the big problem is teams which sign players for the youth side older than usual, or players who dont play in the first team, or players for helping to achieve the target instead of for develop them

here in Spain the colt teams are inside the system, but some teams sign lot of players with 23/26 years for the youth team (they will never play for the first team), but they are better than others in the same division, so the "B" team promote with expensive players for the division (but never will play for the first team).

y rembember some years ago that barca "b" was the last in 3th division, in winter market signed 8/10 players with 24 years from 2th division, play and obviusly they save the season, but they never played for the first team, but played before than others with 18/20 years who could play for first team in the future....

real madrid (reiner or rodrygo) or villarreal usually do the same thing. sign players who cost the doble than the budget of the rest of the team together....

for instance my local team ud logroñes, is in 3th division, played against colt teams like athletic or real sociedad (they use to play with only young players)

IMO a solution could be allow the colt teams inside the system, but they ONLY could play with u21 players who have played for the youth teams (u16, u18) unless 2or 2 years

  5. as part-time team, your market can be sign the best players from other divisions, or who live/work in Angus...

someone from montrose (ballantyne or allan), or the GK from forfar (mccallum played well season 18/19)

wallace and murdoch from east fife could make a job....

with a narrow squad some player who can play in different places.

but the most important it will be find the ideal loan players

I'm thinking about next season (whenever it happens) now. Are we likely to get a list of released players soon? When will we be putting season tickets on sale? And when are we likely to announce any new signings? The last one might be a while since the window doesn't open for a wee while yet. And that Jim Duffy is our manager.

what do you think? and what do you like?

    stay / out

  7. In spain every first team have his colt team, competing in structure league (even the first team is in the 3 mains division is compulsory)

points for: - youth players compete in real football, playing for something (promotion and drops), they improve mucho more than playing youth leagues like friendlies
    - youth team can plays like first team, preparing youth players for first team (and maybe playing with 20 years although they are worse than others with 22 who now are better back wont develop to first team)

points against, - colts teams dwell places for other first team from smaller cities/towns
    - some teams from la liga, sign players from other countries for millions of € and play in the colt team, adulteration the competition), for instance rodrygo or vinicius for real madrid "B", who are more expensive than the budget of the rest of the teams together
    - others la liga teams, sign veteran players for the youth team (who will never play for the first team), the only porpuse is try to promote/save the colt team. a youth team should play only with players under 21/22 IMO

  8. every day is worse than the day before

stendel isnt good enought, he doesnt improve the team in anything. he should go out

play worse (If it is possible), win less, without soul, without team

I repeat, where are his signings???

halkett is a shadow, slowly, erratic, dont strong enought, maybe after 2 good season with livi (one in championship) with a team which play long boals and everybody put together is good, but playing with spaces isnt.

incredible that this team, with this players is going to down. beetween 2 or 3 probably earn more than all hamilton team...

I have lost any hope of avoid relegation
