  1. There must be more than that. Offhand I can think of Scott Ellis, Dean Park (both of which have several parks), Bellfield, Riccarton, Moorfield (although it's never used or cut for that matter), Burnpark. Then Astros at Grange, St Joseph's, Kilmarnock College.

Glenfield used to have the best parks in the town before they abandoned it and let it grow wild.

You may be right mate but u think dean is privately owed and also moorfield has no running water I think this is the case anyway. It’s tough to book Astro in Kilmarnock as these are usually taking up by Hurlford, Shortlees etc.
  2. I think in Ayrshire it’s lack of facilities and too many teams in a small town such as Kilmarnock. Take Bonnyton for instance they have just been informed that their home ground is not up for rent for teams of over 18s due to language and noise pollution. I think grass pitches alone in Kilmarnock there is maybe only 4 pitches available although I may be wrong

  3. I went to watch onthank again today to see if they could back up last weeks result. They looked depleted today and noticed they Had Chizzy at centre half alongside the boy Gary Ross. Gary got injured and Sturdy came on and they finished the game with Sturdy and Chizzy at Centre back. Atleast 5 boys missing from last weeks starting 11 but they still managed to hang on and win 4-3. Looked a real team effort and the discipline was superb today. Fair play to everyone at the club for trying to turn this reputation around. Long may it continue. Well done boys enjoy your night

  4. Score?

1-0 onthank. Took this game in. Onthank looked as if they had a game plan and it worked. Scored early doors and sat in. Killie Ams were by far better on ball without really breaking onthank down. Was a fiery encounter. Really looked like a derby. Are too many people ruling onthank out ? No matter how the got the result today the won 1-0. Sometimes you need to win ugly. Killie Ams really won’t be far away. Fantastic football side. Just couldn’t break down a stubborn onthank side today
  5. They young boys had a lot of good chances aswell  probably another day they go in . If the 2 boys up front for onthank  put as much effort into there game as they did arguing with old men am 55 and some of they shouts were embarrassing

On another day Onthank are up 3-0 at half time. Keeper made a massive error for the pen to let Glens back in. Glens will take points off sides this season. They have a few cracking players. Boy at left back is a smashing player.
  6. Having watched that game today apart from maybe first 25 mins glens were better team mistakes cost the away team  And had a lot of chances but didn’t take them

Honestly don’t know if you were watching same game as me but first 20 mins Onthank cut them open every time they went forward. From what I saw they lost 2 stupid goals (a pen and centre mid getting caught on ball). Apart from that onthank played footy. They look a decent side with ex Hurlford boys, Calzzy,Gary Ross,Cammy lindsay,Jordan Connelly and Daryl Murphy. Chizzy done well rebuilding
  7. Just reading through some comments and the last game I managed to see was Mauchline v Glenmuir and the home team played well. Just noticed that they had beat Shortlees as well although i see there were some lees players missing that seems to be looking like a strong side at Mauchline. I suppose its only pre-season but do we think that team could challenge in the premier?

Judging by Mauchline results and the players they seem to have it’ll only be a matter of time before we see them in the premier
  8. Only one I saw was they lost 6-2 too Catrine

Will be interesting to see how all the new clubs get on this season. Some stepping up from boys footy such as Glenafton and Tass. Some decent boys teams have coped and went through the leagues no problem at all before namely Hurlford and Kilbride. Good luck to all for season ahead
  9. There side must be coming along nicely. Think I will go along take in their first game. Do wee know where they are playing and who?.

I think Onthank play Glenafton at Knockentiber. New side so not sure what to expect. Anyone know any of their friendly results ?
  10. I just like to see the kilmarnock teams doing well. For years now there has been far to many teams going to the wall. Hopefully what's rumoured about onthank is true and they manage the season well, hopefully the rest of the killie teams put on a good show aswell, the 2division could be the one to watch.

It’s tough for clubs in a small town like Kilmarnock. So many local clubs scrambling for the same group of lads. It’s good to see teams like onthank back on the up. As you said the Ayrshire game has lost too many teams in recent years so here’s hoping that it’s a successful season for the local sides
  11. I've been speaking to a few boys over the last week or so, they are saying that onthank have signed 4 from the hurlford ams old team. And numbers at training have crept up also. Signs look more promising I'd say

A lot of people have put onthank down lately and probably rightly so. Good to see the club getting some good boys in with experience of a higher level. By looks of it the manager by telling boys to leave when the side was struggling shows he and the club will no longer tolerate the poor discipline and players will he moved on. Here’s hoping they have a good season and people start talking about them in the correct way. All the best for the season
