  1. Don’t forget that League One can move players into February, and that’s partially to allow the moves above to settle a bit and then get reacted to, especially by loans. Early window moves are a little rarer down here in Seaside than at the levels you’re used to.
  2. Jesus, watched the highlights and Durnan, just wow. We could have used him today on some of our crosses, as our forwards aren’t coming near that accuracy.
  3. I’d run with McKay, Davo and Bene somewhat happily, as long as Davo keeps his head screwed on.
  4. Hopefully someone will step forward to identify the spitting moron.
  5. As you were, just a switch between the shed and the greenhouse!
  6. There’s a number of P&B posters who should be offended that you compared them to Ross Forbes.
  7. After a weeks break (perhaps, for some), here we go again, 3pts and 1 pt... Airdrie 3 - 1 Stranraer Clyde 2 - 2 East Fife Falkirk 3 - 1 Forfar Peterhead 2 - 1 Dumbarton Raith Rovers 1 - 0 Montrose Previous winners (# if multiple wins): Round 21 - Stevo Fife (4), roman-bairn (3) and falkirkzombie Round 20 - African Sunset Round 19 - Stevo Fife (3) Round 18 - roman_bairn (2) Round 17 - TxRover (2) Round 16 - Marshmallo and ++Ammo-Airdrie++ Round 15 - Stevo Fife (2) Round 14 - No picks Round 13 - TxRover Round 12 - Steakngravys Maw and Larry Hood (2) Round 11 - Gordon EF (2) Round 10 - Wee Jackie, Life on Marrs?, EFFC1938 (2) and Stevo Fife Round 9 - keyser_soze Round 8 - shawfielder Round 7 - Gordon EF Round 6 - Larry Hood, EFFC1938 and macclyde+ Round 5 - Wullie McNaught Round 4 - roman_bairn Round 3 - Wilson92FFC Round 2 - Easy Days for Raith Round 1 - Bairn in Exile
  8. Two games postponed for waterlogged pitches, so best of three predictions...and we have three tied for 4 points! Congrats to @Stevo Fife, @falkirkzombie and @roman_bairn! 21 entries: Three with 4 points, three with 3 pts., five with 2 pts., six with 1 pt., and four with 0. Stevo Fife running away with his fourth win, roman_bairn on three now, and falkirkzombie’s first!
  9. Even better is no cards for us, yet...
  10. Probably a result of all the scouts visiting earlier this year. Edit: Raith updates say we put “Victoris” on for Baird...interesting version of the name, maybe presaging a goal?
  11. Falkirk’s Durnan seems adept at scoring, though in his own net...maybe we should try him for Baird? In seriousness, maybe bring on Smith?
  12. So the midfield I was just so effusively praising seems to be slumbering, lovely. The good news is that Dylan has agreed to burn those pictures, since he’s getting playing time on his own now. Now, about Smith and Bow...
  13. It is indeed a good selling point for loans, but Munro has now made that look a bit iffy the last couple of weeks. Wondering if we don’t need to run out Thomson for a game, though probably not Livingstone.
  14. The lineup on the front of the website is often, well, crocked. If you scroll down and look at the Official RRFC tweet, the gamesheet shows Robbie warming the bench.
  15. And the lad named Thomson on the lineup sheet is our new striker?
  16. Water wings? Ffs Hey...if a game of water polo broke out, at least they wouldn’t get any knee injuries! Although, knowing the Rovers, someone would sprain an ankle on the sidelines.
  17. What's the drainage like at Station Park? Forecast looks like they'll need water wings at the kick.
  18. ...if he’s playing for Raith, pretty much seems a given...
  19. Still not sold on the “we must have a striker” line. A poacher, yes, but with our strength in midfield and crossing from wingbacks, a pure striker that can penetrate a defense isn’t, in my opinion, as high a priority. Goodwillie is, I think, a non-starter for a number of reasons, but an opportunistic player is a good shout. The reality is that Tait or possibly Hendry, look capable of playing a false nine role, if required, which simply calls for a couple of attackers who can move into interesting positions to get the ball, not have to move them there on their own. We’ve stayed pretty exclusively with 2 forwards and Gullan sweeping behind them for a good bit of the season, no reason that can’t continue to work and we share the scoring around. Is it ideal, no. I would feel much better with a solid defenseman too.
  20. The talk from the team is focused on securing a couple of loaned players, not a new signing, so I doubt it. There’s little squeeze for the January window, but not really enough for a splash. Edit: Strike that, new word says they are actually looking at a couple of signings...never mind.
  21. Mendy will likely bring a substitute defensive body that is probably at least serviceable after his time at Kelty. SAndo out is a crushing loss, and now Davo HAS to step up. He has to grow-up and shut-up. He’s hurt us too many times to do it again, and he needs to reward our faith now! He needs to adult and ignore the other players baiting him, but my confidence is low. A striker would be nice, but not critical enough to over-spend because of the impending return of Allan and Smith, plus Armstrong, GAndo and Victoria being able to play forward. Our strength in the middle is what is keeping us afloat, and using some of the less often seen midfield players to boost the strike force is an option. The current Rovers team is well placed for at least a playoff spot, it is critical we don’t go crazy with spending.
  22. Agree that Tait shows potential as the attacking mid role. I like to see a healthy Smith get a couple of run outs, that might help at least take some pressure off Bowie...but another striker is certainly needed if Gullan is truly gone. For the second player, I think a left-footed defenseman wouldn’t go amiss, because MacDonald has shouldered a heavy load so far.
  23. Any of you lads have an idea on Mendy's status. All we see is his loan was to have expired somewhere between 31 Dec and 6 Jan, but no news from RRFC or KHFC that I can find.
  24. I was pretty sure we had the market cornered on clocks back, points lost moaning...whole sold their share to Forfar? That being said, I feel hopeful for a road win...of course, having actually said that, i feel a bit faint and must lie down.
