  1. We can move the argument about the correct meat to BBQ to the General threads... Exactly what I’m doing. It now appears likely that Falkirk will not make any significant changes in the January window, so we need to evaluate how our two/three games against them have gone and if we need to seek anything to try to ensure we top them In the table. Overall, we are reasonably matched with them, but we have a thinness in the back and our middle is a pretty even match with ours clearly better when Gomis is absent. Didn't realise there was very little to do in Texas. Sitting in a waiting room does that...but not as much as with the NHS. Of course, you don’t have to mortgage the house for a sticking plaster.
  2. So, the Falkirk AGM seems to have gone swimmingly. Per the Falkirk thread, changes on the Board, a new Chairman who castigated the fans behavior, much discussion of changes and plan, but little concrete data of their plans. It seems that there is little, if any, money for team changes in January (though there is £160,000 inbound in January for Vaulks, but they bled out almost £400,000 last year). , and the BoD is instead expecting 10-15% more effort from the players. Sounds like this may be the chance we need to take advantage of! Falkirk seem to be vulnerable this year, thanks to McKinnon’s cunning team design.
  3. This is the problem...do you play SAndo versus Dumbarton. His injury was given as 2-3 weeks , which is back for Dumbarton or EF, but there are considerations. If he’s being rushed, we risk losing him again and facing you lot without any “experienced” CB’s. If he’s not back, we face the Sons the same way. It’s not a pretty picture, either way, the Sons are scoring and you aren’t, but I’m pretty sure you’re a larger title threat than them.
  4. Long-range forecast is for chilly and cloudy, a chance of showers, high of 5 from 0 in the morning. Also, I’m predicting a total w****r of a referee...not that that’s a surprise. Yet another opportunity for Rovers fans to complain about suspensions and make weird line-up predictions. Now, what’s screwed up on the Sons side of things?
  5. That’s the way it seems to read, but until the SFA publishes the list, who knows. I’m assuming it is.
  6. Strikes me as mental, cause in the last game at Stark’s Gomis absolutely bossed the first half. If it was a strategy to have him fresh for the second half, good for them, if risky. He was an absolute beast against us, at least for a half, the last two times.
  7. The highlights don’t show any of that, so I can’t comment on what Bowie was doing, but the yellow he got suggests he was doing something to gain the refs ire. Overall, as BPM noted, he’s extremely young and raw but shows a bucketful of promise/potential, and has been a clean player thus far this year. Not sure why he’d be nipping at heels for this game, unless it was the whole rash youth thing. He’s clearly going places, if he can avoid our injury curse, though hopefully not before June. I haven’t seen anything explaining why Gomis wasn’t starting, does anyone know why? When he came on, the whole flow of the game changed.
  8. Asking for (or expecting) a footballing opinion from Frank is, to be frank, pointless...as is arguing. While the red on Telfer might have been a slightly harsh one, his reaction speaks volumes and it wasn’t unwarranted. You see no fight in him, no objection, no complaint, and that speaks volumes.
  9. From the highlights: Telfer’s red, yea, deserved it, and the way he reacted, he knew it. McKay’s yellow seemed reasonable, but how Falkirk avoided anything for running over the ref is beyond me. Bene’s yellows were reasonable, the second one was unnecessary (in my opinion), as the attacker wasn’t through clear. Gomis’ yellows were equally clear, and the second was much more stupid than Bene’s. Didn’t see Bowie’s, can’t comment.
  10. SAndo was out at the half for Montrose with a hip injury. JMcG called it a tear in the hip flexor and said two to three games out, and so far he’s missed the Airdrie and Falkirk matches. I honestly hope they don’t rush him back for the Sons, as of them or you, despite recent form, I’d prefer him playing vs. you lot. Davo is out, but Bene’s isn’t officially out until they publish it, because his is a weird one. He got his second yellow of the game, which would be one game for the 2Y=1R, against Falkirk, but it also totaled his sixth yellow in L1 this season, so we are assuming he’ll have to serve two games.
  11. Just making sure this is right: Card totals: Keepers - None. Backline - Davo, 4 Y and 1 R (being served, plus 1 R already served); Bene, 6 Y (being served with extra game as last was 2Y=1R); SAndo (2 Y=R served); Miller, 2 Y; MacDonald, 2 Y; McKay, 1 Y. Midfield - Spencer, 1 Y (plus 6 Y served); Matthews, 2 Y and 1 R (being served); Hendry, 1 Y; GAndo, 3 Y; Dingwall, 1 Y. Fowards - Armstrong, 3 Y; Bowie, 1 Y.
  12. Shoulda had Davo available to red card him for simulation?
  13. Average League One winner over the last 20 years is 75 points, 74 if you exclude the Sevco 102 in 13-14. Lowest winner was 59 points. Raith Rovers in 02-03 25% of the time a total below 70 has won...on current pace, the top 4 will have 68, 68, 61 and 59 point. It may take 70-75 this year, or it could take less if as injuries start to hobble some teams, it will be a fun ride though. There are between four and six teams genuinely fighting for this this year, depending on runs and luck.
  14. Still wondering why the decision not to start Gomis. The difference he made when he came on made it obvious he’s one of your strongest players, even with his limited endurance playing like that.
  15. As always, 1 point for a correct result, 3 points for an exact result, good luck. Clyde 0 - 2 Airdrie Montrose 1 - 1 Falkirk Peterhead 0 - 0 East Fife Raith Rovers 3 - 2 Dumbarton Stranraer 1 - 2 Forfar
  16. Interesting week, the winner, with 7 points, is your humble OP. 21 players: one with 7 pts, two with 6 pts, three with 5 pts, two with 4 pts, six with 3 pts, five with 2 pts, and two with the coveted 0 pts.
  17. Right, somehow still here, but we need to setup a timeout room for some of our players in the back bedroom!
  18. I’d say feel free, but we’d probably concede.
  19. Not always right, but never in doubt. Ross is a complete tool.
  20. Fife has a reputation to uphold? The ref seems to be really craving the attention. Mr Ross is a fan of the cards, and after a couple in a match, often runs up a huge total.
  21. Watson, McKay, MacDonald across the back...there goes the attacking threat from MacDonald!
  22. To clarify, his fifth and six just came today, so how the f does that get sorted out. A two yellow=red on the same yellow that totals six yellows?
