Let’s be honest, we’re kidding ourselves if we’re saying the average punter has ever truly had a say in proceedings in terms of the general running of the football club. Once the committee is elected, they call the shots. Most punters don’t even have a say in that.

Membership has always felt a bit two tier and the “you’ve got to know someone to sign up” thing is pretty off putting. The only reason I did so was to vote to turn professional. Would have had zero interest otherwise, because it’s all a bit bowling clubby.

There should continue be supporter representation within whatever structure we proceed with, but we’ve absolutely got to modernise and make it more attractive to supporters to engage with.

Could we not have a representative from the Supporters Association feed through onto Committee? I assume we still have a supporters association, haven't heard of any meetings but if it was still going then it seems like a good way forward

Can anyone advise on what the roles is of the man on the right, black shirt?

Why don't you ask Laurie, I'm sure it was his idea to have him and the others in the photo.

I believe he was also listed in the staff chart during the member meeting, granted it was difficult to read.

I’ve asked you before, are you sure you’re not a Director? You have that air of authority balanced with not very clever. Human Intelligence is measured in highs and lows but intellect is about the human mind. It’s well researched that over 80% of the world’s leading CEOs have modest intelligence, make lots of mistakes, can’t problem solve and their biggest attribute for success is strapped between their legs.

Perhaps Tolerance is what we all seek.

I'm not a Director, I'm not a CEO and have no authority within the club. I'm just a normal punter who enjoys going to games, who had a point to make but obviously you only want to hear from the regular crowd. I thought the point of the forum was to encourage fans to talk about the team.

I don't resort to insulting people and thought that generating a post would be interesting based on the current subject, which I thought everyone would have an opinion on but it seems you don't like my tone so I can understand why not many fans bother to post.

I do think it comes down to human mindset the way people act when at a football game but thanks for making this clear.

I don't shout abuse at our players during matches, never been my style,  but I totally get the frustration of others. Of course we all have bad days at work but if I had as many bad days at work as Bob then my manager would certainly be bringing it up at our monthly one to one meeting to get to the bottom of what the problem is ( is it my work or private life?) But if I continued to put in a bad performance over the rest of the year without good reason then it would be a significant part of my annual appraisal review and I would probably be encouraged to move to a new team or maybe even find a new job.

    I agree.

While my initial post was meant to be a flippant quip, but I respectfully disagree with all of this.

Football is tied to the past - it’s nostalgia driven. That’s why at the 150 celebrations we talked about being the first club to do X,Y and Z. We had a throwback kit. Fans talk about promotion seasons of the past. Celtic fans go on about 67 and England trumpet 66 every time there is a major tournament etc, etc.

The world is changing heaven knows it’s changed massively in the last 18 months, however, to compare the plight of minorities and their fight for parity to criticising a player is stretch and a half. Having a go at player isn’t a hate crime. An absurd dichotomy. As for employers shouting at their staff? In the comparison doesn’t fit as pointed out by Zenetti.

The fact people swear at football and even in society !!! Mary Whitehouse must surely  be spinning in her grave. The SFA should maybe consider moving matches to after 9pm so folk can drop the odd cuss without upsetting anyone.

    We should alternatively take lead from cousins across the pond and use some of these great chants instead;

    In all seriousness:

The consensus is the McHugh was poor on Tuesday and that was before he sent the penalty over the bar to greet Jeff Bezzo in space . While it’s not my style, frustrations from the terraces can boil over . Next time he steps on the pitch wearing the hoops, I’m sure same fans that criticised him will be hoping he has a better game and will celebrate he scores . Football is fickle.

    In all seriousness.

I do hope for more from McHugh. It's just a shame the negative shouts are always louder than the positives.

My son, who was 4 at the time picked up the F word at a QP v Alloa game about 30 years ago.

He learnt that Alloa were "fucking shite”

And that was 30 years before they appointed Barry Ferguson.

He now has a 1st class honours degree in English Literature (my son ... Not Barry)

I guess that exposure to bad language wasn't too big a problem.

Not the point. Lots of football supporters are well educated and highly intellectual successful business people. It's about how some people conduct themselves at a football game.

It’s great to back at the football! In the two weeks we have been back in stadia, we’ve had people disapproving  of songs with swearing and now we’ve got folk criticising other fans for expressing an opinion at a match.

A football match isn’t the last night at the Proms for goodness sake .

The problem is that football is still living in the past. The world is changing, people are demonstrating and marching for respect and yet football crowds think it's acceptable to be disrespectful because they've paid their money! It's not! If your employer, started screaming your rubbish and publicly calling for you to leave, you would be upset and I doubt it would make you work any better and you would be requesting your boss to be sacked.

Why should we have to explain to kids to ignore to swearing as it's acceptable in a football ground but not acceptable nowhere else, especially not at school where monitors make sure these things no longer happen. Is that what we want, to be treated like children just because we can't act like decent adults.

Atmosphere can be generated by supporting your team and cheering them on, not by slagging off our own players or the opposition and their supporters.

People who go to Last night at the Proms, can have a great night with a fab atmosphere, a great sing a long and a drink but don't go to football if you want this as it's not the done here, we wouldn't want that to happen.

Agreed. But an86 has nailed it. Communication with your customers has absolute everything to do with the CEO of a company and the board that appoint her.

I was delighted we strolled the league but you can balance that with the disconnect most of us felt not being there. Hundreds of us didn't get to watch a second of it in person but the usual "VIPs" just waltzed in every week despite not carrying out any essential match day duties. Now we have the current shiteshow. Those feelings of delight have now gone.

As I said I don't defend the clubs communication. It is appalling. I too watched every game from home and wished I was there with the usual "VIPs" but maybe if I had put my name forward for committee I could have been there. I'm certainly not going to get bitter with them because I'm not on committee when I didn't do anything about that. In my work that's called perks of the job.

Leeann Dempster has been in the door six months. We have a game next week and have made no details public about how fans can attend. Clubs well below us in the pyramid have managed this. There’s no excuses here. It’s not good enough.

Do they think fans can just keep £200/300 to the side when juggling all sorts of other things, while they tell us nothing? It’s an absolute disgrace. Amateurs.

As I said I agree their communication is appalling and wouldn't even try to defend that.

Paying membership is like a birthday, you know it's going to happen every year so you save up for it.

This is what we voted for. This is the copy sent to Companies House. November 19.

So you voted for players to get paid. We brought in paid players and won the league by 16 clear points.  Didn't hear too much complaining then.

I agree the communication is appalling but this has nothing to do with the vote.

With regard to LeeAnn, based on previous experience with the Office, we needed to bring in someone with experience of professional football and I suspect it takes time to set up a professional club from near enough nothing. Now that we have removed the 'trap door' drop from league two I'm willing to give her time to set up an established club which is going to be self sustainable.

It’s why I’m pondering if this President is useless or perhaps being coached by others to step away from the fan base. Let’s say you were a multi millionaire global entrepreneur who enjoys a free seat in Government. You’d hardly be likely to mingle with riff-raff in the portakabin up at Cove, for example. Or say you were experienced at running Premiership teams, for example Hibs, you’d hardly be likely to pop in for a pint at the social club on your way to your seat. Maybe it’s chit-chat with these types that’s inflated importance in the minds of some.

Whatever the reason, it’s not what we voted for.

    What did you vote?

Reading between the lines, it seems unlikely that McKinnon said to Dempster, "Look, now that we've secured the initial aim of promotion, in order to allow the club to begin the long-term task of restructuring - which I understand will be aimed at delivering a new and innovative model in the Scottish game, rooted in your community and participation for all - I think I'll bugger off and let someone else take my job. Mibbe Falkirk will take me back, I see they're looking for a new manager."

That could well be true but since we turned professional I wonder if everything is black and white (pun not intended) I don't think there is the same loyalty. Managers like some players can make more money from not staying put. We won the league comfortable but never thrashed any team maybe Ray thought it might be better for him, in the long run, to leave us on the up and take his money and run. The thing is I don't know for certain, so I'm just wondering why everyone is saying it's ridiculous he was sacked.

  13. I played in a squad in my youth and giving youngsters and players who had been mainly or always on the bench the chance to play competitive games was not only good for the manager to see how they perform but also beneficial to the player. Some of these guys have sat there week in and week out and never had the opportunity to show what they can do in a competitive environment. They have trained nearly everyday and deserve the opportunity to play when we have the opportunity to do so. I agree we shouldn't be disrespectful to other teams but likewise you shouldn't be disrespectful to our squad players. Please allow them the opportunity to show why they are with our club.  Some of them might be playing for their future career.

Yeah, heard that as well. It made no sense to me either. Considering our players have been training on the artificial surface at Lesser every day all season. Now training at Broadwood of course because Lesser is out of bounds.....even though Lesser was getting used back when the construction work was actually taking place 🤷‍♂️

I was hoping the reason the team had moved out of lesser was to allow the work to be completed quicker but I could be wrong.

Awk I’m just throwing the line out. Aye you’re right we’re great. Lots to celebrate. Thanks for the advice man.

I'm not a glory hunter. I support my team, win, draw or lose.  Lots to celebrate - We have  only played one league game. A bit harsh to judge on that. I don't know how many games we will win, draw or lose this season but I'm certainly not going to be as miserable as you but then again maybe you think I just don't care!

Just having a laugh. I’m not one to follow the crowd and be in love with a group of staff and players who don’t really care. Hopefully things pick up but I worry for the future of the club. That’s being a fan 👍😁

Supporting your club is being a fan.  As to why you think the players don't care. Were they laughing and smiling, have they not been training nearly every day for the last month or so.  I don't know how you can come to that conclusion when you don't know them did any of them tell you that?  Why worry about the future when you have all this doom and gloom now. Support your club and encourage them to greater things.

So what government statement has told us i,t is now safe to work on a Friday but not a Tuesday at Lesser Hampden?

I believe the change is actually a reduction in the hours at lesser not a change of days.  I have passed by on a Friday and office staff are in. Why keep having a go at them?
