  1. I wouldn’t even pay per view the games , I reckon a stream of decent quality with a donation link would be excellent, most fans will be happy to donate what they usually pay, and some people who have come by hard time’s will donate maybe not as much or not at all, which is understandable with the pandemic. Also when a young guy is playing football I know (I’m 21) I’ll watch it, more chance of younger people tuning in online than going to juniors/ eos games. From a playing point of view it’s excellent as allows people to see if you should be progressing as well. So many benefit could come from it.

  2. I see sosfl has been voided, I wouldn’t write the teams off at that league by any means but would fancy a strong boness against them. This means if boness are promoted there is that imbalance which could see Livi ‘shoehorned’ in, I’m not sure it would happen but remains a possibility, also the ERSJFA may not be too keen readmitting a club who doesn’t want to be there.

  3. New applicants dont need letters of support from the SFA/SJFA.
I would question the need for a deadline in the first place, it's upto the leagues themselves to decide how they deal with applications. In reality, who cares what the SFA think, it has nothing to do with them and other leagues have different deadline dates or indeed none at all.

I would have been inclined to have put Livingston's case to members at the EGM and let them decide, rather than the board just turning them away. We are operating under exceptional circumstances anyway.

Would you welcome another West Lothian club into the senior setup? And do you consider these to be exceptional circumstances?
  4. Sorry to hear about the Livingston secretary. Hope they and everyone else are doing well considering the circumstances.
Just on the point about why the SoSFL and EoSFL have different application deadlines, they're just different leagues. Different leagues have different rules. The EoSFL set 31st March as a deadline. The SoSFL have April 30th as a deadline. The Highland League don't technically have a deadline for example. Its just a case of sticking to their league constitution that might cause issues with the SFA.
    The EoSFL consititution isn't online.
However this is how the SoSFL phrase it:

    And the Highland League:

Definitely, cheers for clearing that up. It’s understandable why they stick to constitution anyway.
  5. I looked at the thread regarding the livi application. I totally agree with deadlines etc, and no favouritism as it’s my old club. But I have since spoken to one of the committee members at the club and he had been in really poor health and also this has been made even harder for the aging committee to have a meeting with the covid situation. I wouldn’t give anyone a hard time for not accepting them as deadlines are deadlines, but after seeing some of the reasons their application was late, I certainly would maybe look to reconsider, I think should one WL team go there’s more chance the rest would follow suit either this season or next etc. Not only to represent the pyramid better, but they were top of super league before the break so I see them as a good addition, and could help push on the quality of the conferences further. I understand that it’s only unless exceptional circumstances that applications are accepted, the secretary receiving specialist treatment down south for his condition is understandable, also I know the rest of the committee are not really active on social media and technology like a lot of other clubs, which is really due to the fact of their age. As sniffer pointed out as I was writing this, I’m surprised the sos has a different deadline as they answer to sfa also. I’m not slating or telling anyone what to do in the association, I just was curious as I am with all football things and many others on here , I just asked a few questions and got some answers.

I loved playing east of Scotland when I did and can fully understand a club wanting to move, with all that’s on offer.

  6. Hi all,

Just a message to all the clubs, I’ve had a lot of players message me lately looking for club etc, I’ve posted adverts and little descriptions. If your clubs maybe interested feel free to contact me via twitter. I don’t mean to intend to spam, just wish to help people find clubs. Good luck for the season ahead all.

    Many thanks TFS.

  9. Congratulations to Kelty, maybe not circumstances which they wanted to lift title but they’ve still had an excellent season. Also commiserations to Bonnyrigg as they had a very good season too. Hopefully we will see kelty and in the professional setup come next season. Really pushed on since moving to the EOS leagues and I think will be a welcome addition to the professional leagues.

  10. They are based at Inch Park which would need major upgrading (if any for EoSFL purposes).
Also have facilities at Fernieside Park where Tynecastle used to play before their move to Saughton. That was a ropped off park so would need upgrading as well I'd imagine.
Not so far away from the Inch Park is Peffermill where Edinburgh Uni (grass) and Leith Athletic (astro) play.
Maybes additional option of a groundshare ? 🤷‍♂️
Would imagine need to declare a home pitch wi their application ?

Fernieside Saturday ams have use of pitches and also tolcross ams play there sometimes. So I’d imagine be busy at peffermill every sat.
  11. Just a little post folks. I saw a juniors team who will be moving WOS looking for some help with social media side of things. If your club will need a hand too, free free to send me a dm on twitter or Facebook and I can try help or at least try point you in right direction. Hope you all stay safe as well.

  12. There are 9 new applications from what I understand, with 8 clubs having gone public on it. If that's the case, it remains a question who the 9th team are.

I’ve an idea who it is, but I don’t want to share it and upset the people at the club, wanting to see if it’s public knowledge or not.
  13. I see hearts have stated about 50% wage cut across all staff. Is this legal? Could it be phased out at lower levels of the game like the EOSFL which I do take a keen interest in. Also as a player or club do you feel obligated to receive or pay wages?

  14. I’d personally say null and void this season. It’s brutal, however extreme circumstances and by continuing means that we will be playing catch-up in years to come. The players who receive wages on a professional contract should be honoured them. I know it’s tough for clubs to operate like this, but there should be a way to ensure that players are looked after. I completely agree also on they will have families and plans for summer, that is in fact if we are back playing for summer. What has happened is very serious and football is life or death to me, but some fans, referees, committees, managers and even players may be affected by them and may never recover(I severely hope this is not the case) and every club at most levels will need to re-evaluate their position and operations in the aftermath of this. I get excited easily with football, but I fear that this is a long slow process and if we have to sacrifice the football for a while to benefit everyone else so be it.
