  1.  I'm Paul 46 and I'm looking to get into football  in one

hi I'm Paul 46 and I'm looking to get into football management in one of the junior  or amateur league's after recently moving up from the North East of England, I've played pro level and managed at semi pro level in England, I'm looking to get into football management in the junior league's after moving up here recently, I've a UEFA B coach who works  with me who was previously at Kilmarnock so we should be a good management team for the right club, I'm not touting for anyone's job I'm just putting myself out there and hoping that in time in the future some thing suitable may possibly come up, I have a football related c.v. that I can email to anyone who may be interested, I've 34 years in football from player to manager and also have done scouting, so i have alot to offer a club if the opportunity arises, thanks for taking the time to read this post it's appreciated, if anyone may know of anything around then the help would be appreciated, thanks

Junior football being what it is, go to games for a while, become a known face. I don't know, go and do some voluntary sessions with clubs. Get known enough so someone can 'put in a word'. Managing at this level is about (IMO) knowing the market clubs operate in.

Maybe avoid clubs like Darvel and Pollok who could probably field an 11 a aside game between their back room staff though...

I guess the trick is to not be a spectre haunting under pressure and thin-skinned managers!

Thanks for the advise I'll take that on board it's appreciated 👍

I can't say incase I get mobbed but u never know 😉 ha ha,  I've applied but it's difficult to get in to teams up here with nobody knowing me seems that teams aren't willing to take a punt on some thing fresh and different but u never know one day that may change hopefully

When I was involved in ammy football there was to many pals acts not saying our teams like that but a outsider coming in no favourites no agenda or exigencies to tribes to locations to areas your just the big Gordie they need to impress at training or they don't play

I genuinely hope you apply were are you based//

I'm at Glasgow just outside rutherglen to be precise but originally from Newcastle moved up here 6 months ago

Don't be sorry mate that was a great post and you got SFA meetings to thrown in if a player gets suspended

Family life goes out the window if your a gaffer which is maybe why older guys who family have grown up are good choice for a lot of teams

I know your looking read your other post and hope you get back in

Clearly you have a lot to offer the right team

And coming from a different league and culture is not a bad thing

Something you can use to your advantage when it comes along

End of the day footballs football at what ever level

Thanks mate appreciate the kind words 👏👍

Pollock fans want to win everything same as Petershill traditionally big sides punching below there weights a bit like us over the years

Question is though does he want back in?

Being a manager is a lot more than taking training and picking the team

Its with you night and day 24 7 its harder than what most folk think

Being a manager is a 24/7 job even at semi pro level it still becomes a full time job, it's a difficult job to do especially when working full time and trying to have  a family life aswell, I can only talk from personal experience but your constantly on your phone sorting out, training, speaking to coaches, speaking with players, sorting out tactics, formations etc also meeting with the chairman and committee and also carrying out interviews and anything else that comes along, it really is a 24/7 full time job which takes up most of your life, I for example signed 2 players on Xmas day last year so it really never stops but we do it because we love it and we love football and everything that comes with it, it is stressful and time consuming and can be brutal at times but I wouldn't change that as that's all part and parcel of the game we all love and i for one enjoy the interaction with the fans because without the fans we have nothing, sorry to interact on your group just wanted to give u a little insight into the management lifestyle that's all sorry for the interruption

  9. I agree and that's a very fair point you make I commend the club for taking there time and I agree it is very important that the next manager is the right one to take the club forward to the next level for this season and beyond a club needs stability to be able to improve in the long term and be able to move forward both on and off the field, thanks for the information it's very much appreciated

I'm not too sure about this thread. You wouldn’t turn up to an office and say I’m better than him sack him so I can get his job. Also, it lacks class and professionalism. It’s easy to find jobs that become available, follow teams on twitter or browse on here but you can start talking about wanting jobs that are already filled if your serious about getting a chance somewhere.

Hi sorry I think you've picked that up the wrong way, I've been in the game 34 years from pro level to semi pro level and never once would I tout for somebody else's job tha5s not the way I work, I'm very professional and would never want to see a fellow manger out of work again that's not the way I work at all, with me being new up here I was just seeing if there was anything available at the minute that anyone may have known about that could have applied for currently and not once would i ever tout for someone else's job thats unprofessional behaviour and not something I would ever do as I've been there as a manger and realise how tough a job it is to try and keep everyone happy impossible to be fair, all I was looking for was a little help or info to see if anyone knew of any clubs looking currently for a new manager that's all, I appreciate you reply but I think you picked it up the wrong way as again I would never ever tout for another managers job, thanks
