  1. Well done to the players especially the young ones who have had to step up delighted for them as they’ve suffered the most being thrust into a situation due to lack of squad depth

Special mention for the younger coaches also who have been moved up in the interim tam oware from YQP and Charley king  from academy who’s been at the club for years, seem to be getting very good effort and heard good things that the squad are big fans of them both

  2. Visiting family in Dundee this weekend and out a walk managed to stumble across a young QP team playing against Dundee this evening . Unsure of the age group but was very impressed with the football from QP who looked to play good football compared to a Dundee team who were much bigger physically and just lumped it from what I seen. Hopefully bodes well for the future!

What makes you think that? A few examples please. Sergeant Wilson has explained what he knows, now you tell us how you know better than him.

All teams within the academy Scotland elite or performance tier pay there pro youth coaches from under 11s upwards to under 18s pretty sure it was part of project brave. There’s numerous jobs online just now for Dundee Utd and st mirren at the moment of various age group positions all paid roles according to the advert?

That’s the point. It shouldn’t be volunteering. We’re a full-time professional club and community coaches should be being paid. There are certain things it’s reasonable to ask fans to volunteer for. When you’re asking for qualifications, it’s a different ball game.

Getting people into work, even for a few hours, is a contribution to the community and a well-being issue as well. All very well talking the talk. We’ve got to walk the walk as well.

All academy coaches from under 11s through to under 18s are still all voluntary also from what I understand

David McCallum? At 44, he’d need to move pretty soon if he wants a management career. New regime at Ibrox might be an ideal time to part ways. Stark and he were huge parts of developing the system that brought through so many good players. The club are obviously going big on the academy and signing young players side of things. Limited experience of management at a truly competitive level. Aforementioned Stark does, though. Took an assistant gig at Rovers a few years back, but at 65 he’s maybe more likely to fancy putting the feet up than standing in the rain at Pollok Park as part of a coaching team.

This isn’t a rumour and, as with 99.9% of things, I know absolutely nothing. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t on the list, though.

What evidence is there that the club is going big on the academy? If anything the academy has been totally neglected since the new regime took over two

Well I don't think anyone saw that signing coming. Most of us were expecting someone to score goals or shore up a leaky defence.

So I wonder what the "pecking order" will be with our new appointment.

If as expected the new "Director of Football Operations" surely will have some input into current 1st team playing strategy as it's stated " He was responsible for developing the long-term vision at AZ, for creating a performance culture and for the development of coaching staff dedicated to excelling in the development of high potentials"

Seems he'll be responsible for the development of the coaching staff well as the players.

Given the performance of our current under 18's ,according to last weeks club post, he's surely half way there..

They told us the U18's won again with a 5-1 win against Morton, which when added to previous games against "higher" league team's U18's makes it:-

    Played 15, Won 12, drawn 1, lost 2, with 48 scored and 13 against.

Yet despite all that promise, not one of those current under18's has been promoted to the !st team squad this season, despite our inability to take chances and score goals.

I'm all behind promoting progress from within the ranks, which again you have to think will be the new man's responsibilty as he did at AK Alkmar.

But who will be making the final choices to allow that to happen; it doesn't seem to be the current coach's philosophy.

As with all things with the current management, don't expect clarification on a pecking order anytime soon, we'll just have to wait and see.

Well said I agree with a lot of this. Every statement that seems to come from L Dempster now says we have a history of having a strong youth set up well before anyone in the new regime arrived. So surely what we have been doing is working up to now and the whole fact we can now keep our best young players, why not give the staff, coaches, volunteers who ever they are the chance to develop these youngsters for our own club instead of ours like the past. I get the new guy from AZ is an exciting prospect but people shouldn’t be quick to forget that he’s coming into a successful academy with a lot of good staff by the looks of things!

also good to see 18s match reports altho a bit of notice before games of when they are happening would also be good for fans wanting to see them for themselves

And Scotland finish with two full backs from the QP youth system. Add in Lawrence Shankland and Barry Douglas and that's four players capped in recent times, shows what a good job was being done with the youth set up in the early. 2010s.

Michael Ruth I’m sure was also in a Scotland squad. Also seen recent lists which had a under 17 Cameron Bruce and under 16 Lennon connelly in Scotland squads in the past months. I think recent posts online suggest the youth is still strong now question just is if they will still get a chance with the first team doing so well

NO ground to play our home games in.

    NO team manager.

NO team for next season, apart from Murray&McHugh who are on 2 year deals (allegedly)

    NO communication with the supporters.

    NO president available for comment.

    NO committee available for comment.

NO CEO prepared to instigate any dialogue with the supporters.

NO AGM proposed, normally held in May.

NO one prepared to accept responsibility for any of the above.

That to me is a shambles, however you dress it up.

But you're right O'Kelly, it's been a sad time for many of us too, in accepting the inevitable upheaval and trying to move on; and realising that "uniqueness" you mention may have left the club along with it's amateur status and it's accountability.

And you might have nailed it there, in that we no longer know who runs our club, maybe a Norwegian tribute act wouldn't be so bad after all. Time will tell.

You can add to this also -

Nowhere for the academy teams to play  games.

Along with keeping the first team in the leagues was the academy not one of the main reasons for going professional we were given by the committee yet It seems to have been completely neglected

Future is looking bright for Queens, I watched the u18s win 6-0 at Hamilton last night. They have also beaten Celtic Hearts and Motherwell recently. Good chance they will keep some of their best players now that they are professional.

Brilliant, seen them play recently vs Motherwell and they played some excellent football. Punching well above our weight. Well done to the coaches too. I think there league is a Friday evening for anyone looking to watch

I was of the same opinion until a couple of weeks ago, possibly in denial. When you look at the body of league results under Roberts, it really does make pretty grim reading. Does anyone have faith in us putting together a run of results?

I'm not sure the players know what they're meant to be doing and there's nobody on or off the pitch vocally demanding that we maintain a certain standard. The heads go down far too easily.

I suspect Roberts will continue for now, but the committee should be putting contingency plans in place. Even right now, I wouldn't be against Reilly and Quinno taking the team until the decision is made on status. They might just spark a reaction out of the players over a short period. How long do we give it? Do we wait until we're actually bottom?

Beyond that, the job is not an unattractive one if we change status. Someone along the lines of Stevie Aitken, who did a fine job at Stranraer before having Dumbarton punch well above their weight for a couple of seasons could be a good fit. If we remain amateur, it ultimately doesn't matter who we appoint. Even a successful appointment would just be delaying the inevitable. We'll have admitted to ourselves that we see ourselves as a Lowland League club.

MR needs more time I’d say. However I see the points made here. Going forward it seems the club needs people who know how it runs so Reilly quinno not a bad shout either. The youth team got to the semi finals of the cup last year which is punching well beyond our weight and we seen numerous players come through off the back of it was this quinno and Reilly team too??
