  1. Given the following players are likely unavailable for Saturday: Matty Allan, Tomas Brindley, Josh Skelly, Craig Thomson (all injured) and Finn Robson (suspended) I'd like to see this team: McCallum Morrison, Whyte, Hutchinson Nditi, Inglis, Whatley, Ross, Moore Mutale, Ferguson What we'll probably get: McCallum Morrison, Munro, Whyte Nditi, Whatley, Hutchinson, Moore Watson, Ferguson, Inglis Although, I could see Ray mixing it up and playing 4-4-2 McCallum Nditi, Morrison, Munro, Moore Inglis, Whatley, Hutchinson, Ross Mutale, Ferguson. Either way, he'll try and defend rather than go for it against an equally poor form Clyde.
  2. Thank you. What I was saying is that Robson has potential, but Forfar is not the right place for him to develop on that potential. Not attacking runs, but he moves well around the middle of the park, but doesn't do much with it because of the style of player he is. I'm not fan boying the lad, just saying how I can see what he could do, in the right environment. For Forfar Whatley/Kinglis/Moore are better in the middle of the park for what we need.
  3. He's a Rolls Royce in the sense he runs smoothly, and passing is usually on point. So for a team that plays 100 5-yard passes tiki taka stuff he'd be good. But for playing in counter attacks or reacting to a breakaway he's not so confident, hence why most games here pass him by. Like I said with the right style and training he could be a gem, but he'll achieve little to nothing in the Scottish lower leagues. Personally, I think Smokey has done well this season whether at LB or CM. He's no Slater or Kinglis but I like him.
  4. I said it was understandable. Personally when we debated who might be captain this year I was for McCallum or Whatley. To be fair, Morrison who I didn't expect, gave a good account as captain when Munro was injured. But I agree blaming Marc for his own stupid back-pass/side-pass whatever it was Andy intended that led to the penalty was daft and should've gotten the yellow instead of Allan! (I know that's not how the rules work but I'm sure you understand my point)
  5. Was surprised by Watson re-signing, but originally was happy for him to be a bench filler. Robson is a Rolls Royce player and I think would flourish in the right environment and team. However, Rolls Royce players don't tend to work in Scottish League Two. Whatley is calming and can do a hold-up job, but needs better creativity around him - that should be Kinglis or Smokey. Munro as a captain is understandable. One of the longest serving players, is vocal and can command. However his limited footballing ability has nosedived and is as many have said a bombscare!
  6. Well done Bonnyrigg, well deserved. We were poor. The penalty was a gift for you guys and that set the tone for the rest of the game.
  7. Munro, understandable. McCallum? He's not done anything egregious. Looks like the 2nd half will be 4-4-2 route one Munro punts to Ferguson. Allardyce & Pulis would be proud.
  8. Munro absolutely at fault for that pen. Yes Allan caused the foul but that was because Munro made a stupid pass across the box!
  9. Cammy Ferguson to score a hattrick and be sent off in his debut, tell me the odds
  10. I did not figure that out. Now it makes a lot more sense, I wonder if he's lodging with Ray then?
  11. According to The Courier, Ray McKinnon has finally said that he hopes to sign another striker to strengthen our depth up top. Any ideas on who he might target? Also, according to the website Skelly should be back (at least on the bench) for next week.
  12. The 3-4-3 still has merit (I personally like it). It's just so strange that immediately after the League Cup we stopped scoring and appeared to lose the fluidity we had. Yes Skelly got injured, but surely our good form wasn't entirely down to him. I'm not calling for Ray's head, nor do I think we'll have a season like last year. I admit I was on the league champions hype train, which may have been too premature but surely the Loons (or Athies as the club seem to prefer now) should be in the conversation for playoffs, and hopefully the title. However, we do need an uptick in form otherwise we could become draw specialists which would make the team part of the mid-table mediocrity.
  13. Dumbarton could've been a lesson to him. They totally changed tactic, formation and personnel at HT and it worked a treat and they went on to win.
  14. Are we any more optimistic about the Bonnyrigg match on Saturday? Another 0-0?
  15. I totally agree, since St Mirren we seem to be a completely opposite team. I still think we've got a cracking defence (even though we conceded 3 goals with 5 CBs on the pitch) but very limp up top.
  16. "Champions elect" after 3 matches I think that is now near impossible for the Loons.
  17. Could've / should've been 4 nil up but it'll end a draw having conceded a goal now.
  18. Brindley and Moore are injured (pleased to see Seb Ross back) I have no idea where Nditi is, he wasn't hurt on Tuesday night? Mutale and Munro to tear League Two defences apart! Expecting a hat-trick from them both.
  19. Perhaps our first Goalscorer in the league won't be Inglis, Thommo or Paterson but rather McCallum or Munro will do it with a 60 yard punt
