  1. A 3-1 victory and we were actually the better side! Two wins on the bounce, the board will be giving the 2 Garys new contracts.
  2. Scottish Cup weekend! On paper it's an easy win for us as we play a mid-table West of Scotland team, but it's Forfar, so any result wouldn't be a surprise. We can easily lose this match, draw and face the lottery of penalties or actually win. I can't call it.
  3. Thanks, I wasn't at the game so was confused when the line-up was announced.
  4. I agree that the failure to sign Petire was the first mistake, I do believe, though, that JW would've stabilised us and every decision from my previous point has been more and more compounding to our fall.
  5. I'm sure it's earlier than that. I always put it down to Jim Weir's car crash, and his subsequent hiring of Barry Smith as interim assistant to cover his absence. Yes when he had his crash we weren't in scintillating form like the season before but I'm convinced had Jim not had his crash we'd maybe struggle to reach the playoffs but we'd likely finish 5th or 6th in L1. I suspect we'd still be mid-table to playoff pushing in L1 under Jim still today. That's my personal take on it, ever since the crash every choice the board and management have made has been a mistake (with the exception of the Craig Slater gamble). Happy for others to disagree and share their view on the beginning of the end for Forfar.
  6. Highlights. https://eftv.info/highlights-2022-23/?doing_wp_cron=1665410480.3572158813476562500000
  7. In current form all teams are safe from the drop because Forfar are generously going to stay 10th for the season!
  8. How does this sound? Forfar had two players that scored goals today, East Fife only had one so the board will say we outscored them.
  9. It's 2 nil to yourselves already. Perhaps your son underestimated how dreadful we are right now. What are the chances of Harkins on at HT?
  10. Mark Docherty and Kyle Hutton the CB partnership this afternoon? Wouldn't be surprising considering all things. In fact have Irvine at RB and Harkins sitting behind Matty. Screams ambition!
  11. As horrific as it sounds but I don't think so. Dumbarton are top of the league so the board will view this inevitable loss as a free hit. Mind you, losing the L2 relegation playoff to Brechin would be viewed as a free hit by the board too - "oh, it's a local Derby, you can't judge a whole season against a local rival" or some nonsense along those lines
  12. To be honest, the state of our defence at the moment even current Bolo would still add something to our team.
  13. I admire your faith in Forfar but have you seen out results this season? I'm sure the match will play out like most weeks. We'll create 3 or 4 brilliant chances but not convert any of them. While Dumbarton will score one good goal and then get a bit of luck (due to a defensive error) and score a second. Forfar will respond by hoofing the ball up to Matty and wonder why he can't win any aerial challenges.
  14. Think it was lower back. He jumped and either slipped or landed awkwardly jarring his back, so probably not another ACL injury for a Forfar player, but depending on his back could play next week or could be out 6 weeks
  15. I think we've always known we rely heavily on Slater but him going off injured today really showed us up. We were creating chances and dominating the game (yes we couldn't score but that's not surprising). After that we were in disarray. Yes Abed and Jack put a good shift in when they came on but we never looked like getting back into the game. As for the Garys playing, was it their last chance to play a professional game of football? I doubt it.
  16. We look completely lost without Slater! Nditi leaving with an injury, yet another defender probably on the sidelines for the next couple games.
  17. That's Slater getting stretchered off, our season is done for, if it wasn't already.
  18. Interestingly, Forfar have announced Jaden until January, whereas Hearts have announced he's out for the rest of the season.
  19. Jaden Ferguson announced, it's worth a punt, could be a stellar signing or a bench warmer so that we don't have to put Harkins on the pitch, so I guess that's a win-win ?
  20. A Hearts B striker or Matty Aitken. That's like choosing between Messi & Ronaldo
