  1. After finally getting a win, will Forfar be able to pick up another 3 points or will we go back to dominating the stats but not winning due to terrible finishing and silly defensive mistakes?
  2. Are there any highlights? It would sound about right, the time we actually win and nobody filmed it, if there isn't.
  3. I can imagine the stewards would confiscate the drum and tell the young team to stop singing if they said anything negative about the club or manager. We went back to predominant navy this year, along with the new kit have you noticed a lot of the graphics are navy rather than sky, so the stand being more purple than sky kind of follows that thinking. Does that mean we're doing away with sky blue, I don't know
  4. I can see this being a draw too because that means "everybody" will be happy as it will be described as an improvement.
  5. It's always more of the same in training! We have a good squad, we can play nice football but we've got a defence that are guaranteed to fall asleep every 70 minutes and a strike force that is as dangerous as a plate of jelly!
  6. Don't be daft! They'll wait until the end of the season and then the statement will read something like: "We're delighted to have Gary Irvine stay on with the Athies as we look forward to locking horns with historic teams such as Forres Mechanics and Turiff as we play in the competitive Highland League for the first time in our history!"
  7. The club want it to be a family friendly club, so you're politely asked not to boo, but clap cheerily and use no bad language.
  8. 2 shots on target for Annan, 2 goals. Deja vu anyone?
  9. Well done Forfar, leading a match and then concede 2 in 4 minutes.
  10. Do you think they'll be any deadline day business? Irvine out, will not be one of the news articles from today.
  11. Forfar need a striker, Arbroath are wanting to let some strikers go... Luke Donnelly to sign for Forfar, or Hilson to join for the 8th time (yes I'm starting this rumour again, it's better than bemoaning the management)?
  12. Hanratty was brilliant on Tuesday night, making great runs taking on players, cutting inside playing short incisive passes. Today, useless, no runs and always played backwards. He wasn't the only one to do that, Moore didn't attempt to go forward like he did previously, all our passes were sideways and backwards today, real negative stuff. Matty was Matty, move on. Munro is in horrid form right now and needs to be dropped as a punishment, the problem is, he's our only fit CB so is effectively undroppable right now. McCallum is a shadow of his former self, maybe that's because he has no competition (don't know who the Trialist was on the bench today). How many times have we said it. We probably have the best squad in League Two but it clearly isn't delivering on pitch. As the old saying goes: "you can't win football on paper."
  13. Of course he'll be in charge unless we're bottom at Christmas by about 10 points he'll stay for the season.
  14. No, don't think there was one, as I doubt any Angus journalists were at the game, and Fife papers would only care about East Fife.
  15. Lowlights. https://eftv.info/highlights-2022-23/ Although credit to the EFTV team, they made Forfar look not as dreadful in the highlights. It was a penalty, clumsy but not surprising given Forfar's ability to do daft things at the back on occasions. Balde is a great looking signing for you guys.
  16. If Irvine were to go, who takes his job? What managers are currently out of work and would like the Forfar gig? My guess is it would be another rookie manager who calibre would be just as unknown as Irvine's was before he took the role.
  17. I guess we've had two great performances on the trot, so we'll inevitably play poorly for the next few games, before picking up again for a spell.
  18. Keatings is on the bench! I repeat, Keatings is on the bench, he does exist. Hussain in for Daz Flanagan makes his first start in the place of Thomson, who doesn't even make the bench (must've picked up an injury during the week). Armour gets the nod over Matty, as many Forfar fans asked for.
  19. Which one if those Forfar goals is ruled offside? (Slater, Matty, Stef & Andy = 4) I'm guessing Andy's header much like last week
  20. Darren Whyte has been ruled out on the match preview. Also they say McCallum was only winded and not knocked out, hence why he was allowed to play on last Saturday - hopefully he won't drop another clanger tomorrow. I think Forfar will win tomorrow. I can see it being 2-0 or 2-1 to the Loons.
  21. According to the website he should be fit enough for the bench. No doubt he'll twist his ankle in the warmup and be forced to miss another month
  22. If Forfar can score as many goals as AZ did against Dundee United £18 might be worth it. However, I doubt that result so £18 is far too steep for a League Two match.
  23. Highlights! Let the controversy flow. (definite handball, before the disallowed goal, the disallowed goal was clearly onside!)
  24. I choose to be optimistic. Forfar seem to have a really good playing style now, Thomson and Nditi overlapping was great to see. Flanagan (once he can manage 90 minutes) looks brilliant. Slater is just a class above. Yes we should've won, with over 20 shots in a game and Elgin down to 10 men (9 for the final 5 mins) you'd hope to have scored more than two, but let's not forget Forfar were getting kicked and fouled all day long and the referee was well... Today was like those games you sometimes get on Football Manager we were in control the whole time but drew the game because of two stupid mistakes from our players, if you could refresh or reload the game we'd probably win 3-0. However, I would start Armour over Matty next week, and possibly Flanagan for Hanratty (if he's fit enough).
  25. Agree, I was surprised that McCallum stayed on. Nditi had him in the recovery position, even if he passed the "concussion test" (not an expert, but what is entailed in the concussion test medical staff do to players) he should have been taken off.
