  1. I think given time and a tightly controlled budget, Callum Davidson is just what we need at this moment in time.

If he keeps us in the Championship that'll be more than good enough for me, given our trajectory under Veldman these last few months.

I think the comments from Saints fans has been given genuinely, in that we shouldn't expect too much instant success from CD.

Compare those comments with the praise heaped on Dempster from HIbs and M'well fans when she arrived with us.

Talking of squandering money, Dempster inherited a healthy bank balance when she arrived.

Most of which has been spent on a glorified "Punch and Judy Booth" for our esteemed blazers. NO mention of that from her in her leaving statement concerning her list of achievements.

  2. With all the opinions given so far in favour of and against, Davidson.

I'd like to point out that the last manager we got on the rebound from the Perth Saints, was none other than Billy Stark.

For me the Stark days were our finest, and all done with no transfer budget.

If Davidson can improve us on the field as Billy did, that'll do me.

Say it quietly but the Women's team finally getting the opportunity to play at Lesser ain't a bad start

Did anyone else notice this part of the official Club statement about the upcoming Women's team game at the City Stadium. Seems we can forget about any future increase to the ground's capacity, it's official, in terms of our capacity, we're a L2 team.

"It will be an historic day for our Women’s team as the cup tie will mark the first time the squad have played at The city Stadium since the redevelopment has been completed."

And we are all aware of how the committee have looked after themselves first , and will continue to be able to lord it over the rest of us in their outrageous "Concrete Bunker".

God, I hope we get some news on the Head Coach soon, these debates are becoming increasingly esoteric (a bit like Veldman's zonal marking at corners)

Well I'm gonnae take the bull by the horns, or should that be grasp the nettle, and suggest the only solution to having a knowledgeable and trustworthy individual in the Head Coach positionin time for this Saturday.

For me it's got to be "Beardy" 🥸, you know that nice QP fan, who appeared on the BBC's QP snapshot, replying with his catchphrase  " I'm your man"

Anyone who thinks they can do any better should either stand up and be counted, or forever "haud yer wheest"

  5. It looks to me like Veldman told the blazers where to stick their job, and has gone back to the easy life along with his mentor Beuker.

That would explain the emotionless statement that he has gone.

The blazers running our club don't have the collective ability, let alone the will to make such a sudden decision 30 mins after the match has ended.

The ball is now directly in Lord Haughey's court.

It'll be interesting to see what his next move is. He came to the club with the best of intentions, to preserve the "history" of the club and keep the home of Scottish Football in Glasgow.

It's obvious the committee don't have a clue, given their abject failure in building themselves a "Luxury Bunker" on the largest terracing out of the fours sides, and relegating the fans to 4 rows of seats and a capacity akin to Junior Football.

If Haughey has the balls, he should get rid of the main cause of all this malaise  ie our Invisible CEO, and allow the blazers to sink or swim with what they've got left. If we the ordinary fans are lucky we'll have a ground fit for L2 and the ability to be self sustainable to avoid the trapdoor.

    I

The future of this programme is entirely dependent on Haughey now. Twist or stick. Our club, our committee neither have the money, nor the will, nor the talent off the pitch to sustain this.

The earlier comment about Beuker leaving because of the lack of ambition in the boardroom is entirely believable. Let’s not forget the original objectives of the committee, who’s current make-up is largely as it was in 2019….avoid the trapdoor, stabilise in the upper first division. Anything above that came from other sources.

It's not only Beuker that left because of the committee's lack of ambition, but I'd put Owen Coyle in that category too.

This sums up our club's failings off the park. It's simply down to an amateur committee.

Fans on here quite rightly express their opinions on Queens seriously aspiring to get to the Premiership, that's never been my own belief. As BYOS says above , the objective of not only the committee but also of Haughey, was to avoid the trap door and stabilise in the upper first division. Owen Coyle created a "meltdown" in the committee's plans by showing how good management could allow us to dream beyond their abilities to rebuild Lesser.

In all the talk of compensation for Beuker going, I would imagine the committee's main plan now is to erect a covered walkway from the Club offices direct to their "Vanity Bunker" so that their blazers don't get wet.

As for the rest of us............well we all know what they think of those outside their own inner circle.

Apparently he thinks Dempster still works for us 😯

That for me is his one big flaw.

I do believe in his his initial intention in stepping in with the balance of funds to purchase Hampden, in effect for the SFA, was as he stated at the time to prevent the SFA from moving their headquarters to Edinburgh, and to maintain the history of Queen's Park and Hampden remained in Glasgow.

In appointing Dempster to oversee the running of his investment, has been a disaster IMO.

If we believe Haughey's latest newspaper statement that she is responsible for the decisions to be made concerning Beuker's future employment.

She is then apparently responsible for the costs involved in the scrapping of the  initial plan for a 1900 seater stadium at Lesser,  with stands on the west and east terraces, to include the blazers to be seated in front of the social club.

She is then apparently responsible for the subsequent court case with the initial builders that resulted in the judge awarding us to pay £800,000 in damages.

She is also then apparently responsible for the farce that is the Blazers being allowed to build themselves an outrageous carbuncle of a "Royal Box" for their own exclusive use, despite the fact that they are not owners of anything, but elected by the members as custodians of the clubs history.

She is also responsible for the debacle that is the rebuilding program for Lesser, which has now proven to be not fit for purpose.

Yet she has allegedly been successful with her two previous clubs, Hibs and Motherwell, yet her profile amongst the club's lifeblood, ie the supporters, is non-existant.

I can only think that her previous clubs held her more accountable for her actions which then influenced her decision making.

Somehow, Haughey, believes her to be infallible.

As all of the above listed responsibilities have been with Haughey's approval, we can only assume he is really in it for the long haul as he has stated from day one.

He is reported as having stated his aim was for us to be self sustaining at Lesser, after his initial financial support for the first team squad is over.

That will never happen while we are "visiting" at Hampden.

What makes the whole Lesser building fiasco, under Dempster's control, all the more difficult to swallow; is the fact that Haughey's fortune has been made in the construction industry.

This won’t be the last miserable Saturday for some while.

    Never a truer word !!!!!

BYOS has taken the time and effort to explain what we have all been watching every game since Veldman arrived.

Whilst we can all see it,,,,,,,,, Byos can see it,,,,,,,, and even Jim Goodwin could see it,,,,,,,,, now every manager in this league has also now seen it.

I bet we wouldn't beat either Arbroath or ICT if we played them this weekend.

This shambles we are watching every game now, is devoid of a leader on or off the pitch, devoid of a recognised pattern of play the players understand, and in this current squad, many of whom have come from "higher" league teams, they are playing like a group of wee boys who have been brow beaten into submission by a coach and his unworkable philosophy in the environment of current Scottish football.

Despite what we as fans wish for, given the current hierarchy and the man who pays all their wages, IMO Beuker is going nowhere anytime soon, after all does he not have a 10 year deal ? And neither is he likely to admit he's brought in a dud Dutchman as his first choice coach.

I reckon we are stuck with them both, and don't see Haughey intervening until it looks like we're in danger of relegation to L2 and the dreaded trapdoor.

As for the silent Dumpster and the Royal Box loving Blazers................don't get me started !!!!!!!

It's now glaringly obvious why Owen Coyle packed his bags.

  9. My pal travelled from the other side of Glasgow today to Lesser, by public transport, to renew his season ticket.

At the official offices, he was told that the guy who deals with the season tickets was unavailable and in a meeting  !!!!!!!!!

So he waited for almost an hour, and guess what ???     ..

He had to leave empty handed without a season ticket !!!!!!!

This shambles that is now running our club into the ground, has become an advert for how not to run a football club.

    Professional ????...........don't make me laugh.

Go and give them about 8, lads.

These Dundee trolls are really dumb, they haven't even realised that the man they love to hate, Owen Coyle, is playing them like a fish on the end of his line.

Owen's plan is to put out our reserve team for today's game against Morton, to set the Dundee troll's hearts racing overtime for the rest of this week.

Then on Friday to put out our regular first team, to play against the "Cove bottlers" who have only won 2 away games since early December.

What a great plan Owen, I wish I'd thought of it myself :o))

  11. Surely following on from last weeks game, OC must insist on better use of any corners we win, and also target practice for everyone.

Against Arbroath I counted 5 corners where big Eze at 6'7" stood waiting in the box, as he had done against Inverness(and puting their defence under pressure every time).  3 of the 5 were taken as short corners, which all failed to get the ball in the box. The other two hit the first defender at the near post again failing to use the height of the tallest man on the pitch. Even if he's playing badly, as a target man at set pieces he will create opportunities for others.

As for target practise, given that we took 30+mins to get a shot on target, in the second half within the same 30mins, we had 3 shots at goal from around the 18 yard line. Every one looked as if it went out of the ground.

I must admit our collective effort was well below it's usual level, with Scotland showing against Spain how determination and effort brings positive results.

Having said all that top o' the league wi' just 6 games to go, and loving every minute of it.

Wouldn't all those trolls from Dundee's second team just love to be in our shoes. That's why they cannae drag themselves away from our game  topics.

Would you include dempster when you say those running the club seem to be dogged by mistake after mistake?

Look; this woman is Queens very own Liz Truss, she's already lost us £800,000 in the first instalment of the Lesser rebuild and no doubt she'll never accept responsibility for any of it, and who knows how much this gaff will cost.

But without a doubt she is where the buck stops.

However remember who replaced Truss, we have to be careful what we wish for, we might get another Sunak worshipper.
