  1. The figures I used were not total monies for the season, they were the total amounts of what was left to be paid out to clubs The letter sent out by the SPFL regards the payment of end of season prize money, clearly stated that £9.3m worth of payments were still to be given out to clubs, with league positions determining exactly what they got When the lower leagues were called, £1.8m in prize money was paid out to the clubs in the championship, league one and league two It was widely reported that the breakdown of this £9.3m was as follows.....if you have a calculator, you can do the math and see if the figures check out PREMIERSHIP Celtic 13.4% £1,246,200 Rangers 9.6% £892,800 Motherwell 8.25% £767,250 Aberdeen 7.25% £674,250 Livingston 6.75% £627,750 Hibs 6.25% £581,250 St Johnstone 5.75% £534,750 Kilmarnock 5.5% £511,500 St Mirren 5.25% £488,250 Ross County 5% £465,000 Hamilton 4.75% £441,750 Hearts 4.5% £418,500 CHAMPIONSHIP Dundee United 2.25% £209,250 Inverness 1.9% £176,700 Dundee 1.6% £148,800 Ayr 1.3% £120,900 Dunfermline 1% £93,000 Arbroath 0.9% £83,700 Morton 0.85% £79,050 Alloa 0.8% £74,400 Q.o.S.0.75% £69,750 Partick Thistle 0.7% £65,100 LEAGUE ONE Raith Rovers 0.5% £46,500 Falkirk 0.43% £39,990 Airdrie 0.35% £32,550 Montrose 0.34% £31,620 East Fife 0.33% £30,690 Dumbarton 0.32% £29,760 Clyde 0.31% £28,830 Peterhead 0.3% £27,900 Forfar 0.29% £26,970 Stranraer 0.28% £26,040 LEAGUE TWO Cove Rangers 0.27% £25,110 Edinburgh City 0.26% £24,180 Elgin 0.25% £23,250 Cowdenbeath 0.24% £22,320 Queen’s Park 0.23% £21,390 Stirling Albion 0.22% £20,460 Annan Athletic 0.21% £19,530 Stenhousemuir 0.2% £18,600 Albion Rovers 0.19% £17,670 Brechin 0.18% £16,740
  2. I love this notion that the absolute maximum amounts of money that could have been paid out before calling the leagues, were paid out......absolute nonsense As has been said, there was £9.3m still to be dished out, and the breakdown of that in League 2 seen the top club receive approx £25k and the bottom club receive approx £17k. The SPFL could very easily have given every club in League 2 another £17k, and hold off on the rest until a proper and informed decision was made about the sporting aspects of finishing the league. Hell they could even have went further than that, and working from the top down, mathematically worked out how far down the table each team could have finished and gave them the prize money for that position. In the case of Cove Rangers, the lowest they could have finished would have been third, so the SPFL could have paid out 23k to Cove Rangers, meaning they would have got £2k less than what they got when the leagues were called Same could have applied to League One and the Championship But no, apparently this was impossible Bullshit
  3. I'd have made the decision to the end the league's if and when it was appropriate to do so ....and if I was the SPFL, I would have paid out the bottom level of prize money to every club in each league in advance, to help tide them over, and buy time for all the clubs to come to some sort of agreement Not rush through a vote, and peddle some bullshit about having to end the league's to pay any money out, without any idea when lockdown may be relaxed, any reconstruction plan in place, or any serious though given to how the league could possible be completed before next season
  4. When will lockdown be over? We are almost a month on from the vote and still no one knows the answer to that question, hence a statement saying we know well over a month ago that it was impossible to end the season at some point is just complete and utter bollox
  5. So you don't want to see them taken to task because Rangers are at the forefront of this Ok, think I've heard enough from you
  6. What I don't understand is why people don't want simple questions answered I think it is patently obvious that the SPFL clearly favoured the option to end the league's at the earliest possible opportunity, to the point that the have acted like a political party campaigning for votes by giving "the voters" information that would sway them towards voting a particular way. Don't any of you even want to know exactly why the SPFL badly wanted the league's to be ended as soon as possible? I just don't get it...and before anyone pipes up about Celtic being awarded the title, I honestly couldn't give two flying fucks about that
  7. You may not believe this, but I argued that at the time if we were out the SPL, we should have been thrown out the leagues completely and forced to reapply along with the likes of Spartans and other clubs It was the authorities who chose to bend and break their own rules, and keep Rangers in the leagues....because it is what THEY wanted. I was also very vocal about my belief that any money from Rangers televised matches back then should have went to division 3 clubs and not the top tier, but guess where it went to.... Im quite glad you brought this up actually, as what happened in 2012 shows exactly what lengths the football authorities in this country are willing to go to when they are looking to secure an outcome they specifically want....hell they were trying to place us in the first division ffs Seems the same thing is happening here, and it’s only a handful of clubs including Rangers who are kicking up a stooshie about it
  8. If I remember correctly, with reference to EBTs, it was the non disclosure of information, side letters and such like by the club that led folk to believe that titles should be stripped and all sorts Now it seems people are quite happy for the SPFL to refrain from disclosing as much vital information as they want, with no recompense funny that
  9. That may well be the case simple point then......why couldnt the SPFL reference that in their correspondence?
  10. Right, so in the dossier today, it is in black and white that the SPFL did not include any information about a potential £10m liability to broadcasters if clubs voted to end the leagues, and did not include any information about what it saw as “substantial problems” around league reconstruction, in a paper sent to all clubs with regards to what they were about to vote on....the very thing that these two things were a consequence of Yet at the same time, they basically lied to clubs through saying they had no means to advance money to clubs without ending the league You are ok with this? You are ok with that paper being sent out without the SPFL board approving it? You are ok with the SPFL omitting factual information, while peddling lies at the same time? ....and you call me gullible?
  11. This is about far more than clubs being somewhat bullied, there is tons of evidence now in the public domain of the SPFL either conveniently omitting information, deliberately not mentioning important things that could affect how clubs voted, not following proper processes and basically lying about their inability to advance money to clubs before calling the leagues. Its the SPFL who are stirring the pot with all this schite, Rangers are simply asking wtf are you playing at?
  12. Simple point to be made here The SPFL could make all this go away by simply answering some of these questions that are being put to them. If there is nothing to hide and no bullying, coercion or improper conduct of any kind, simply answer the questions and tell us what happened Instead of doing that, all they are doing is issuing whitewash statements basically saying “nothing to see here, please move on”, and trying to discredit Rangers and anyone who questions them. Poor show
  13. For me, the glaringly obvious question that needs to be answered is why the potential issue of a £10m liability to broadcasters if the league was ended, was not put to members ahead of the vote. How anyone can defend the SPFL for not disclosing that information is beyond me, ALL clubs should have known about that. On top of that, the briefing paper for the vote was not approved by the SPFL board, if it had been, all this information would have been in it. Those two points in themselves should be enough to bring about an independent investigation into exactly what the hell happened here, and why such basic and crucially important things were either omitted or skipped over
