Bandohope the reason the programme is less than it was previously is because most of the volunteers that did the programme even through the Covid period withdrew there labour after January.

I'm aware of that as I'm in  contact with Bill Giby.my point is it seems to be outsourced same as the stadium advertising.I thought Tom Morgan was in  charge of all sponor/advertising.A reality check needed by those in charge even Arbroath ahead of us with season ticket sales

Nah, more likely just another example of the CEO stumbling blindly in the dark. Has anyone have any idea what RRFC are paying for a CEO per annum these days. I heard she's on more than we paid the team manager last season, shocking if true. I've also been told she is in now in charge of stadium advertising (which has been outsourced to an advertising firm) yet we still have about a dozen and a half empty boards trackside. Add in Hospitality and she's obviously well worth her wages what ever it is.

I know she was originally paid by SPP but was told that's no longer the case.

This years AGM could be fun.

Is this the reason the match day programme is disappointing and mainly adverts?

I don’t get the difference it makes if we pay-off Goodwillie so he’s no longer an employee of the club.

We can’t change the fact the club signed him or undo the stigma and bad feeling which are lingering on. We’ll still pay him what he’s due and that will be from the club’s finances. The majority of the people who made the decision are still at the club.

Obviously people have various different ideas of what’s right but it don’t seem very logical to me thinking it’s all good once he’s paid off.

Why would Goodwillie want a lump sum pay off unless he has an account of shore? If hes working elsewhere hes paying tax at a lower rate than max.Pay of would rob him of at approx 40% in one go.Even Mr Dean Park wouldn't pay out if he had any sense

My thinking was that the concourse under the stand next to the railway could be 'built out' from within to facilitate a unit of the same size.
Car park is easy to relocate to the north end.
IF we had to move to the North Stand, it would be OK too.  The north end of the Railway stand is seated too, and I would much prefer to be at the side of the pitch.  Access is from the North Stand.
Leave the Main Stand as is, for the old fogeys and the board. ;)

Aye that's right leave the main stand for the old bogeys

The main stand that gets Hehaw improvements or 2nd thoughts even from the directors

And that'll be many of the old fogeys who were supporting Raith long before you were born given the disrespectful tone of your text

The same fogeys who helped  baile out Raith years ago during the Gordon Brown appeal  and like myself have paid for seasons from when Bert Herdsman was manager (well maw bought them for a wee while)and bought shares for no gain and no doubt paid a fair bit into the Andy Milne fund

So sunshine put your brain into gear before engaging your typing finger

I must admit that I didnt think she was the correct candidate out of the two based on watching the hustings but well done to her and I hope she can be successful.

Given the current climate at Starks the only thing  Dorothy had to do was add name to application form.

No way a woman was coming 2nd

The question around the CEO is not about who knew and who didn’t, it’s about why wasn’t the relationship declared up front so we all knew?  It’s because they had something to hide. Was always a disaster waiting to happen

Only need to look at the Murrells if anybody wants to see a disaster

Still if they were directors we'd be 600k up

Aye well,  the knives even came out for Nicholl eventually.

I get it, I do.... McGlynn has been a fantastic servant and aye, there is that cup final but this performance isn't an isolated incident, the situation with Goodwillie has broken the club on and off the field by the looks of it and I'm not sure that the crowd numbers will hold up with taking 8 more kickings until league end.

There is, also, as Calderon says still a slim chance of making the play offs so why let it slide if there is a possible fix? I have in the past tended towards the bleeding heart end of keeping managers in situ, if only because its a crap shoot and things can always get worse but I'm concerned he has nothing in the tank now.

    To quote Tommy Docherty

"Managers are hired and fired with the same amount of enthusiasm "

Frank Connor was Raith Rovers Manager when I rocked up to play a trial for them in circa 86 or 87 at age of about 18.

Called me into his office and called me a f**k*ng woofter (Those were the days) due to my ear ring which I was telt to remove.

Then got told I was playing for first team in a bounce friendly against the reserves with Cammy Fraser et al.

    Aye they were the days

Sadly you can go back where but never when and when was snowflakes fell from nov to feb and woke was what our maw  asked if you were for school

Shite, the obvious choice is PS, as he has the CEO’s ear, for a back door approach.

I agree, but rare or not, it's unlikely that the contract situation will be resolved with this hanging over Goodwillie.

I'm also willing to wager that were he found Not Guilty in a criminal court, more than one club in crisis and in need of a goalscorer would take a punt on him.

    According to news report

Thomas Ross past president bar association said the two men would have to agree to trial

My point is that now Val has led the campaign to get rid of David Goodwillie… rightly so in my book, she’s now going off on how all footballers need to be whiter than white. That’s a step too far for me and an indication of what happens when certain people have their ego inflated.

The example I used was Marvin Andrews, a club legend and a hall of famer. He’s publicly come out a few years ago with strong views on homosexuals. We also have our own club captain who was charged a few years ago with assaulting his ex gf and a couple of her friends. Our old captain was charged a few years back for bottling someone in a nightclub.

Now the issue with her calling on fit and proper people checks means where do you draw the line? Rapists 100% but what about assault charges etc? What about people with questionable views on homosexuality?  You run the risk of tarnishing players who have played a massive part in our recent history if you start going down that road.

How would big Val feel if the Newcastle owners came in with a few million to use Raith as a feeder club?

Money or morals which one Val?

Yeah Sinton was his man, but he maybe needed someone who would be on the ground so to speak with the everyday running and other tasks, as for club a Sectertary I haven't got Scooby

    I have a "school boy" season ticket for 63/64   10/- or 50p

Doug Cowie of Dundee and Scotland fame died recently but for some reason no mention in programme or web site

That’s a good point. Maybe something like Women’s Aid then. There has to be some significant steps taken - but there will always be a sense that it’s just a PR stunt. Frankly, Sim and Co should be made to listen to accounts from rape victims to give them even a hint of what they’ve endorsed.

My suggestion in terms of an apology to Denise Clair is borne out of the fact she was in the papers directly talking about this whole sorry mess Rovers have created. A line that acknowledges how damaging and distressing this last 7 days must have been to her (even if it doesn’t name her) can’t be too much to ask. Can it?

A lot to be concerned about this season before thinking about shirt sponsorship

Need to be certain we have a club

However as for Womans Aid on a shirt

Unfortunately as is often reported on tv and press Rape is not confined to Woman

Men also suffer from this abuse

What irks me most about this season so far is the amount of money wasted on, not just this catastophic signing, but also the signing of Keatings a player known to have spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch for ICT, for the first time in decades we've had two games in one season against one of the biggest clubs in the country which could have realised around £500k added to the transfer fee's for Bowie and Tait, less what we have paid to sign Ross etc , even if we spent half of that amount the balance would surely have made a considerable dent in our debt, but no we piss it up against the wall in some vain attempt to get to the gravy train in just our second season out of the seaside, with a team that cant keep the back door shut.

The clubs Management and its Directors are Custodians of RRFC, that have a duty to see that its run in a fit and proper manner for the benefit of the community it has represented now for 1339 years (WILL IT MAKE IT TO 140), even if DG had no baggage was spending £60k and £1200 a week in wages prudent for a 33year old who may or may not have scored a load of goals. I personaly do not think so, I hold everyone from Management ,CEO, and the 4 Directors culpable

Totally agree my worry is we do an East Fife or worse so far Brechin

Thanks for listening and thanks for the comments. I think myself and Andy were both a wee bit worried about whether or not we could deal with the subject matter with the sensitivity it required, but hopefully we achieved that.

In terms of how I'm feeling now, and whether or not that's changed since Tuesday evening, I think I probably have shifted slightly in my opinion.

On Tuesday I was upset and angry, and my main focus was the fact we had a rapist who was about to be running about in a Rovers jersey each Saturday until 2024.

Since then though, from reading comments and listening to others, I've probably taken a little more of a bigger picture look at things, namely, how on earth did we get here?

Ultimately, we're in this position because a number of people within the club, John McGlynn and four board members wanted, or were at least convinced to make it happen, and I'm very uncomfortable with that.

Goodwillie being huckled out the club is obviously a positive, but in my opinion, this has been the worst week in the club's 139 year history, and people need to be held accountable for it.

Realistically, Sim isn't going anywhere, but I'd like other members of the board to consider their positions, and while I'm hugely saddened to say it, so does McGlynn.

In my time of going to Stark's Park, I've only ever held Frank Connor in higher regard, including Jimmy Nicholl, but that's done now, unfortunately. I've lost so much respect for him.

That said, I'm genuinely interested in what he's feeling right now. Is he gutted at what he's caused, mortified at how out of touch he was, or annoyed at losing out on his forward? Regardless, I'd still like him to go, but I can probably forgive him eventually if it's the former. The fact everyone so far has hidden behind statements isn't good enough.

In terms of what I do next, I'll probably give the rest of this season a miss, then take stock in the summer and see how I feel, but right now, I think I need to see a change in the management team and at least a change of some description in the Board room, whether a refresh or gutting I'm not sure, but we can't be led by people who are happy to sign rapists so that we have a better chance of winning games of football.

We deserve better than that, and we deserve better than them.

As for this weekend, if I can, I'll try and get along to Windmill Park and watch McDermid Ladies on Sunday. I've no idea if John Sim has even given them a moments thought in all this, he certainly didn't mention them or David Goodwillie's victim in his mealy mouthed statement the other day, but goodness knows they deserve some support after this week, and I'll give it to them.

Where can I find that podcast

    Meant podcast?

I reckon top end of league 1/bottom half of the championship is as far as Cove/Kelty type clubs will reach.

Its easy to outspend teams like Alloa but once you're competing with full time clubs with established fan bases it gets a lot more difficult.

Hibs were very poor last night.

Aye Arbroath are finding it hard against full time clubs right now
