  1. Read he's leaving beith not sure if retiring from playing assuming so??

Big guy must be classed as a junior football legend.

Not a beith juniors supporter so don't know exactly his honours won but must be a good few not considering clubs he played for before and any honours won.

    Did John play scotland junior?

Do you mean we should turn a blind eye to anti-semitism?

And what do you want done now exactly??  A comment made by a ex committee man made about an incident 15 years ago.

I heard a out of his face pollok fan come out with all sorts of vile stuff just this season .

Some truly horrendous shouts at Clydebank and random acts of intimidation and violence outside that ground in the car park

See this is what happens when you make these kind of comments it starts mud slinging where nobody comes out of it looking good no need whatsoever to go down that route on a thread like this.

  3. So fantastic memories of this cup final.

I see Talbot are top of that list also despite not winning it for 25 years between 1989-2014.

My 1st final was as a neutral way back in 1993 a all central affair between shettleston and lesmahagow at cambuslang rangers ground where it seemed to be held every year in the 90s.

Great competition imo even up till recent years.

    Any memories of this cup?

When whyte and mackay sponsored this cup for years was it a different cup as it is now?

Here's to continual success under whatever jurisdiction.

Its actually a joke how many Talbot supporters are in Annbank, when they have a team right on their doorstep

Tuckers from Annbank his brother runs the pub , I'm sure kenny Paterson is from annbank too must be a few talbot folk in that pub

Let's face it if someone is from annbank born and bred and they support talbot whether or not some talbot legends run a pub or a shop or whatever or if a legendary player is from the village or not if you don't support the village you are from you should be hanging your head in shame.

It's totally going against the whole point of non league football.

Nothing but a glory hunting turn coat who brings shame on the village.

He was defending people badmouthing his club. The response to my post perhaps shows why it was worth bring up, that anti-semitism was seen as 'fair game'. Well it is not.

It was a horrendous post from yourself imo. A cheap shot at trying to sully the name of a club with a fantastic name in the game.

To bring some balance i will lower myself to this level since it seems fair game on here i've been to newlandfield numerous times witnessed alcohol in the ground,  drug taking,  casual homophobia,  and sectarian shouts .

Since a clydebank fans seems to be taking high ground i've witnessed cowardly violence by a fan of that club , anti english remarks, casual homophobia, and language thrown at officials that belongs in the dark ages.

Since mud has been thrown a bit of balance and exposure of other clubs needs to be shown also.

Yeah they just went with a straightforward model, but this made the conferences unequal
Numbering all clubs 1-39 as above, average strength is as follows (where 50 is average, 100 is best possible (i.e. teams 1-13) and 0 is worst (teams 27-39 in one conference).

    With serpentine system
    Conference A; 50.3
    Conference B; 49.7
    Conference C; 50.0

Without serpentine system (what actually happened)
    Conference A; 53.8
    Conference B; 50.0
    Conference C; 46.2

Essentially, it made Conference A 17% harder than Conference C, and 8% harder than Conference B, and made Conference B 8% harder than Conference C.

    Another one!

  7. Nothing to do with a conference call but i was at a clydebank game end of last year and witnessed a shocking incident where a clydebank fan punched a rival supporter outside the ground in the kidneys from behind and for him to scurry off and instead of his friend pulling him up for this act he said he should of saved it for a talbot fan  later in the season. Heard it with my own ears saw it with my own eyes.

I've been to newlandsfield  another bigger junior club where I've witnessed many a poisonous atmosphere the pollok forum even had a pollok fan receive death threats from within .

Point being on club is immune from scum behaviour nobody can take the high ground.

  8. This would have been a cracking replay such a shame never got played would of fancied broughty to have got through.

Mr Petrie was saying yesterday he wants to finish the senior scottish cup whenever , i'm in the land of fantasy here but would have loved the junior cup to have came to a conclusion it was shaping up brilliantly with some bumper crowds to have looked forward to.

Not true my freind.rod petrie did agree that if it had to be conference's it should be for one season.just like the e.o.s.run theirs at teir 6 as that was the model to be used.it was only last thursday at the professional game board meeting he indicated he and the s.f.a might have a change of view. It was at another meeting after that they pulled the plug.highlighting there was a ready made structure in place.he has always been against leagues being more than 16 but would agree to a bigger number to start with once it was pointed out the highland league run with 17.

So you are a lowland league official. What team are you associated with has to be the ek chap.

    you serious
Please dont take offence but I've never heard such pish in all my life and I've heard some right pish on P&B in the past few years, legal action, did the Bonnyton chairman message you to say "hey Tutankhamen, I told the LL that if they didn't put us in tier 6 we're taking them to court"  lolololol, you reading that back.
Well I think they are in teir 6 because I know the lowland league committee have been brainwashed by aliens and were told to make sure Bonnyton are in the top tier, furthermore, they mist get the same ref every game and given a four goals of a start

do you know how associations and leagues work.

Bonnyton are the only team out of the 67 teams who are put in the correct tier.
The other 66 teams are new teams to an association that Bonnyton already exist
They have moved from tier 6 SOS to tier 6 WOS.
Do any of us think they will stay there or win tier 6, I don't think anyone does but they are there in the correct tier under the current circumstances.

For the people who have no idea how it works, moving to a new Association, you have no power to ask for anything, that's how it works.
The LL, EOS and SOS can work out any system they want, any structure they want except told they cannot have four conferences at tier 6 by the SFA.

What I will say about Bonnyton, if I wa son the committee id make sure I asked the question before we left the SOS for the new WOS. Id ask "will we be in tier 6 of the new WOS because we are in tier 6 of the SOS"

Let's face it bonnyton are canon fodder and would be in bottom junior league they are doing nothing wrong just opportunist who have ceased the moment. Feel sorry for the youth team won't be any fun at all what's to come.

The proposal said there would be promotion and relegation but stopped short of saying what format or how that may look ? It also suggested that this was subject to change at any point. I don’t think they could've made a bigger hash of this if they tried! Completely incompetent and a total farce

    Spot on buddy.

Some Junior officials have been right panned on here for terrible way they have handled certain issues.

Now after less than a couple of weeks the Scottish football association and lowland league have somehow managed to at least match them and lose most of the trust they might of had to do things properly.

    Grim stuff. ☹️

    This is hilarious, seriously

Has peoples IQs just disintegrated or dissolved.
below I believe most points are correct and apologise if some are factually incorrect

    1.    Not any of the ex junior teams who have moved to the new WOS have any say in how  the new WOS operates
2     Its the SFA who have stated they do not have enough resources to cover everyone in tier 6 but can only cover one division
    3.    They 67 new WOS clubs were invited for a video conference covering, two days I believe and asking them their views, that's it, just their views and what they are looking for.
    4.     legal action by any idiotic club would be thrown out as laughable
    5.     The LL, EOS and SOS when structuring the new WOS can actually say we are going to put all teams that start with the letter A,B and C to the top division and no one, not even a court of law can do anything about it.
    6.      Doesn't matter was seeding people come up with for their workings, the LL,EOS and SOS have decided to add Bonnyton into the tier 6 and for simplistic reasons used the teams in the top division of the West premier and the top 3 of the championship.
    7.      The 67 WOS clubs have been told that they will be able to vote in whom they think are the right people to run the new WOS league for season 21/22
    8.      As far as I'm aware there will be 3 teams promoted, the winners of each conference and here will be 7 teams relegated.
    9.      For me, the losers are  traditionally the weaker teams in the top flight, teams like Cumbernauld ,Rob Roy, Benburb, Troon etc... for example as they are a good bet to in the bottom 7, thus relegated when 2021/22 starts
    10.    Junior football is dead in the West, some really cant handle it. its not the Lowland league, The East of Scotland, The South of Scotland, the SFA or the SPFL its the junior association's fault because they just kept going, not improving, no vision and being stagnant and now they forced id say 30% of junior clubs to league the West region junior association, stating there would be no west region for season 20/21.
11..   Teams in the conference are in weaker conferences than first thought, making it actually easier to get promoted.
    12.    All teams bar Boonyton are new teams joining an association thus they have to flal in line what the association decide, the junior association is in the past

Please someone dissolve this posters keyboard. What a load of absolute nonsense .

  13. Sorry to be harsh but no backbone. Darvel had nowhere to go nowhere so threw out a legal action threat as a last resort that threat would have went nowhere any decent lawyer would have found holes in darvel case within two mins.

Stand firm and they would have had to accept conference football.

Now the flood gates are open for legal action from clubs on the wrong end of this reversal that will go nowhere either. All so messy and a horrible start for those in power that they will be lucky to survive.

Heard some rumours doing the rounds.  Surely every team in this day and age are paying taxes and surely all Junior players are on the minimum 80%.  Would hope the wealthier teams are topping this up to the full amount....

Who are the wealthier junior teams out of interest. Thanks

It was your decision along with a few others as it was reported that an implied consensus from the Conference calls on Tuesday agreed to this. There were a number of other proposals  put forward, but not taken forward. Is it a an open and transparent members Association? No one is targeting you Glens, no one has raised a voice and I'm only carrying out a debate on a point of principal. There is nothing personal in this and I don't know why you think there is. Not the time to play the victim card yet.

So we have a cabal of pyramidees having little conference calls making decisions that effect everyone??  Great 😒

Fully aware it applies to Troon and Rob Roy. Your first sentence contradicts the whole concept of promoting Darvel, Blantyre and Cumbernauld.

None of this was our decision. I don't know why you are targeting me personally on this. Well I do actually, but that's not a concern to me.

You want a role in the association i take it ?

  17. In times of so much negativity here's to the guys who set up the new central region junior football facebook page and long time ayrshire junior facebook page both are of fantastic quality and content.

So many supporters.  committee men, ex players managers enjoying the pages in a positive environment of appreciation.

    Long may it continue

Hopefully the pictures below help those who may want to find them on facebook.

Correct the SFA wouldn't sanction it. It was a well known fact. That is why promotion and relegation needs to applied to create a Division of 17 in the first year.

But where was the decision to promote 3 teams made. Not by the members, but as there was a concensus? at a video meeting, without a vote of the members.  Because of a threat of legal action? This is a major mistake in which a new organisation have left themselves open to threats at any time of legal action that they will cave. This has opened the door to Clubs wholly unhappy with this decision to bring their own action. This leaves the interim management of the new Association weak and ineffective and in the views of some  I have spoken to their positions may be untenable.

Peter you say are not trying to not  trying sell something. If you accept the principle of Promotion, you have to accept the principle of relegation. This would mean that if apply the principal to promote using the West Region PPG as fact, which you ridiculed in other areas, the principal of relegation would apply to Troon, Kirkintilloch Rob Roy and wait Rutherglen Glencairn

Decision making in closed rooms by both the SFA and certain clubs within the new structure have protected the self interest of the few.

The comment from Dave McKenna LL was that no club should be disadvantaged by the current(Covid) crisis. This has only been applied to 6 Clubs namely the 3 named above and Darvel, Blantyre Victoria and Cumbernauld. However a further 6 clubs in promotion positions within other divisions have been disadvantaged.

The interim management of the new association weak and ineffective  is spot on. This must be some kind of world record.

  19. Current sjfa west junior clubs must feel totally let down. Signed up for something that isn't transpiring. Another flawed strand to the pyramid what are the decision makers thinking.  How can something that's in such an embryonic stage be messed up by those involved so quickly. Officials should be looking at themselves and considering their position in the real world though that won't happen.

Will this situation who knows in the incompetent world of scottish football .
