  1. That will be very disappointing if it turns out to be a lengthy spell. We’ve had poor luck in regards to injuries, makes our task so much harder particularly with important fixtures coming up fast.
  2. Nah, I don’t agree. He has allowed Hagi to ghost past him.
  3. I think people are mistaking what I’m saying and assuming I’m saying he is a bad player, I’m not. I simply said he doesn’t appear to have performed to the level that Hibs fans are elevating him to. Even yesterday for example, he completely switches off at our second goal and allows Hagi in, effectively making it 2 Rangers forwards vs 1 centre back that was isolated.
  4. I’m not saying he is a bad player mate, I’m just saying his ability seems to have been overhyped since signing for Hibs. He comes across as some kind of cult hero for them, and it’s like he gets praised when in reality he hasn’t stood out in any of the Hibs games I’ve seen. I don’t think any player from either side yesterday had an outstanding performance.
  5. I’ve already criticised them mate, that was my first comment I made. I can offer more than one opinion on a game.
  6. I’m certainly frustrated at dropping points, but it’s not the first time I’ve made the Gogic observation. It’s just been more emphasised today as I’ve seen more of the comments.
  7. Hibs fans are probably better to judge him than me, I’ve only seen him 4 times. It doesn’t really change my view though, I genuinely don’t think I was watching the same Gogic today compared to the praise he is getting online
  8. You must have missed last season where teams sauntered through the Hibs midfield at will. Now they don't. Yeah, he may well have added something to the team. But I regularly see him heralded online for his displays when I’ve not really been that impressed. On another note regarding the match, I thought Barisic was really poor today. Sloppy defending throughout which was punished for Hibs opener and he wasn’t his usual self either going forward and linking up with Kent.
  9. I’ve said this before as well but I also don’t get the Gogic hype either. I think that’s 4 times I’ve watched him this season and he has been a passenger in each of them. I’m surprised to see him get so much praise again. I just don’t see it.
  10. Poor result. I thought we created enough chances to win the game and should’ve scored more than 2 and put the game to bed. It was a surprisingly shaky defensive display and I hope that is more of a one off and we can sort it out in time for an important run of fixtures. The Porteous stuff is a non-event. Rangers players never shook his hand, what a shocker there is clearly no love lost between him and Rangers so just get back to bullying him on the park rather than rise to it.
  11. The first clip is his take on the Jack tackle at the time it happened, the second clip is his take on the Edwards tackle from the weekend.
  12. He could’ve easily refreshed his memory, but the main point still stands that he had a vastly different view of two very similar tackles. It doesn’t matter if he could remember the Jack tackle, he still judged them differently.
  13. Refs may have used it as a training point and came to a different conclusion following this, however I don’t really buy into that considering Rangers appealed Jack’s red card and the appeal got thrown out which signalled they believed the decision was 100% correct. Now a panel of referees have decided a very, very similar tackle warrants no further action. I think they made a mistake on Jack’s red as I don’t believe either of them warrant reds My point was more to highlight the hypocrisy of a pundit that seen the tackles in two very different ways and refused to answer questions on the Jack tackle.
  14. It'll depend on who is available after the recent injuries we've suffered, but it's likely Barker is out so I'd be tempted to play Morelos from the start (if he is able to), then have one of Hagi/Roofe/Arfield playing off the striker with one of them playing off the right. If Jack can't make it then Kamara will assume his role and Arfield will probably be pushing for a start after how well he played coming on against Dundee Utd. If Boyle is deployed as a RWB as suggested above, I'd probably prefer that as Barisic and Kent, being our main creative threats, will hopefully have him occupied on the defensive side of things rather than attacking us. Predicted Line Up (if fit) McLaughlin Tav Goldson Helander Barisic Davis Jack (Kamara) Hagi Roofe Kent Morelos I think it'll be a close game: 2-1 Rangers.
  15. I found the differing views on each tackle here quite amusing to say the least when they are very similar in nature. I’m in no way saying there is any agenda at play, I just laugh at how inconsistent people’s views are. The double down to refuse to answer the question about the Jack tackle as well made me chuckle.
  16. Over 22,000 posts on this thread. Romeo with 20,000 of them to his name.
  17. I said it on the match thread, I wasn't 100% convinced it merited a red to be honest. The fact it's been reported that the referees didn't reach a unanimous decision doesn't surprise me as I think it was always one of those that is open to interpretation.
  18. I think that adds weight to the whole 'pitch' story being a bit of smoke and mirrors. Although in fairness, any Twitter interactions from John Ward should be taken with a pinch of salt. He went on (which I presume was a drink-fuelled) tirade one evening about Rangers, the Orange Lodge and many other things which inevitably resulted in him deleting his tweets the next day and making his account private.
  19. I made peace with the fact that it was very likely Celtic would win 10 IAR a long time ago. It won’t come as big a shock to the system as many people think. Celtic endured 9IAR during the 90’s, do you really think they are that bothered by it now? If we do stop 10IAR then it’ll be a phenomenal achievement - but it’ll be similarly phenomenal if it takes us to 11, 12 or 13IAR etc. to win the league. Pretending to know how the majority of fans feel about something just makes you seem silly, especially given that no other Rangers fan has agreed with your sentiments yet. If I flip the scenario to yourself: Aberdeen haven’t won the league since ‘85. Are you losing sleep over it?
  20. On what basis are you claiming that I'm in the minority and that the vast majority of our fans would be deliriously happy to finish third as long as Celtic don't win the league? I won't be happy if we don't win the league, that is how simple it is. If someone other than Celtic won it though, it would simply be a small silver lining.
  21. Please don't post nonsense like this as if you have an idea what I or any other Rangers fan would be happy with. I will always be disappointed by not winning the league - certainly if I had to choose then I'd rather someone else won the league than Celtic if it wasn't going to be Rangers. However, in the scenario you describe above: Rangers would have been eliminated from the Europa League Qualifying, they don't win the league and I'm presuming you are suggesting we'd finish third behind Celtic and Hibs which would mean we would miss out on the 2 Champions League places next season... So, no, I would not be 'deliriously happy' with the scenario you've put forward.
  22. This sums up my own feelings on the matter pretty accurately. While I would desperately, DESPERATELY love to win the league this year and stop 10IAR, I don’t think it is the be-all end-all. I’d be bitterly disappointed not to win the league, but not any more so than the last couple of seasons. Whenever the time comes that we win the league, whether that is this season next season or in 5 seasons time, I imagine I’ll celebrate it with no more or less enthusiasm regardless of when it happens. I will add, I feel Gerrard has this squad a whisker away from sustaining a strong challenge. A little bit of luck and Celtic losing a key player (Edouard) or two may see it swing our way.
  23. I think intent has to be a factor. Whether referees are advised to look out for it or not, it definitely comes into play. Players often take knocks due to the natural follow through or body movement as a result of a tackle. For example, there is a massive difference between two players going up for a header and one accidentally catches the other with an elbow (the referee will 9 times out of 10 give a yellow card), compared to two players going up for a header and one of them deliberately catching the other with an elbow. If the referee deems it deliberate, then it’s a red.
  24. Thankfully the majority of fans have called this out for the p*sh that it is.
