I know it's not cool to praise us in any way but I think we've been a lot better. Just lacking that bit of bite

Exactly.
And its a very good thing to have a different opinion. As long as we all agree on this one thing - Dundee FC are shite.

I didnt even think he was good enough for the Scottish Premiership never mind the English one tbqhwy. And hes only 5'6. Thats at least a foot below the average height of small nippy wingers down there!
shows how different everyone sees things. I thought for an inexperienced youngster he was really good for us

The thing people forget when talking about past Scotland teams are that the opposition were usually alot weaker back then.
Most other countries have got better and we haven't!plus the breakup of the ussr has created a whole load of new nations, many of whom are decent at football. There were far less developed footballing nations back then. A point the likes of Willie Miller forgets to address when slagging every new generation and bragging about getting humiliated on the big stage with our "world beaters"

He started off pretty well then absolutely fell to bits due to his inexperience and the terrible backline in front of him. His time with us was an absolute disaster that's probably stunted his development. He was terrible by the end of his time (look up the first leg of the livi play-off), If he's got his confidence back he should be good but if not you're fuuuuucked.
This, I felt really sorry for him. Young, inexperienced but clearly promising goalkeeper who started well but was in a rapidly declining team and completely lost his confidence. There's a good talent in there but hopefully it hasn't ruined him. Seemed a lovely guy too

Who knows. Perhaps he won’t feel suitably Scottish to play, or we just never ask the question.
As an aside, I hate watching clips from last season. The crowds then transition to empty stadiums is depressing.
Aye it was just an observation when I was looking up what Roger Boli did after Utd.

We need more lads playing 3 games in Scotland and having their weans here. Extends the franchise somewhat
haha yea was a bit of a shock as Roger was only at Utd for a wee while. Looked pretty good too, never knew why we punted him. Probably stormed off in a huff after having two good goals chopped off against Killie

Not a striker but I'm not starting a new topic for this!. I notice Charles Boli (son of Roger, nephew of Basile) seems to have broken through at Lens. Born in Dundee. Midfielder, they got promoted to Ligue 1 and he's signed four year deal

Russell has been a very good addition for us the last few years. Had a nice assist prior to the season getting postponed. Good to hear there are some Americans in the league there.
One of whom is son of John Harkes, legend of the American national team.

Magic, we do a Scotland vs Estonia and turn up to play at 12:30 with all the officials there but no Motherwell team. Kick off, ref blows for full time and we get awarded the 3 points to go top of the league. Perfect

Always loved Jess as a kid, even as a Utd fan. Came across really well too. on Chic Young...utterly insufferable and those really good segments when players pick their favourite 11 they played with, he somehow manages to make it all about him.

Of course its not.
But this forum's bad for it. Tierney is suddenly a world-beater because he's moved from Celtic to Arsenal, when his standards have been exactly the same for years.
McBurnie is somehow a must pick because Sheff Utd made one of the worst transfer decisions ever taken. It ranks above the £35m that Kenny Dalgleish paid for Andy CarrollBit harsh , I know he's not the most likeable guy and hasn't set the heather alight for us but he could still do a job here and there.

That's my point, different managers deal with players in different ways so just because it's not working out at a club for a player doesn't mean it's a no go at international level. It's the exception to the rule, I mean I wouldn't want an entire team of players who are barely featuring for their clubs but I don't think it's black and white

Conversely, Faddy played some of his best stuff for Scotland when he was barely featuring for Everton. I'm not a subscriber to the theory that a player needs to be playing well and regularly to be picked, different managers see different things and can get different things out of players. I understand why people feel they should be in form for club but I just see the other side.
