  1. Although on the face of it Rankin isn’t doing a terrible job up to this point taking the season in isolation. In a lot of other seasons Hamiltons current points total would have them top, the fact they are not is more to do with how exceptionally consistent Falkirk have been. I’d say the jury is still out on Rankin as a manager, even if Hamilton don’t go up patience and a second season to refine his squad in the same way Mcglynn was given a second year may be all he needs for everything to click. If Hamilton were to pull the trigger early and make a bad appointment in the way we were guilty of doing things could easily spiral with an extended stay in this division and multiple managers/squads of players expensively coming and going without that necessarily improving anything.
  2. I actually find it pretty funny, If you look through the Hamilton 11 how many get in to our best 11? I’d say 2 maybe 3. Not sure what this guy is looking at to be honest, needs a reality check.
  3. This exact situation occurred when Hartley was at Falkirk, compounded by the fact he was an absolute w**k! Regardless of the scattergun recruitment and poor results some of the stories around how he treated club staff and volunteers really was disgusting.
  4. More the reaction to previous tanoy announcements, anybody with half a brain would pay attention to that when communicating with paying customers who also partly own the club.
  5. Sometimes the best approach to that is to be subtle, most fans don’t respond well to being dictated to especially when they own the club. If the big decisions are mode correctly I’d trust the Falkirk support to police themselves (and that’s not an argument against putting out a few extra bins in the south stand which obviously is not a bad idea! it’s just an observation on how people react to situations and to how they are communicated to) However it’s most definitely a good sign an issue has been made of it on here as it clearly shows how well things are going elsewhere within the club if this is now a bone of contention.
  6. I remember previous club management getting dogs abuse for putting a bit in the pre match announcements regarding clearing up litter, when it comes to minutia like that it needs to be kept relaxed. Get the important decisions right and let the fans (the owners) self police themselves with this type stuff! It’s not a dictatorship! (Also I totally agree it’s a sign of how well things are going both on and of the park when stuff like this becomes an actual topic of discussion!)
  7. If there is a decent cash offer on the table for Morison with him able to walk for free end of season it would be complete incompetence not to accept it considering the options we already have within the squad.
  8. Exactly this, we play a system with a striker as a focal point and 3 in behind playing off that striker which has obviously been extremely successful so far this season. Why anybody would want to change that system to shoe horn Jordan Allan in I’ve no idea, he has his uses coming off the bench as a different option or as cover for injuries but other than that he never gets into our strongest 11 at the moment as far as I’m concerned.
  9. McIver offers us way more than Burrel ever did IMO, it’s not just his goals but his ability to hold the ball up, link the play and he is also very good in the air almost always finding runners with his flick on’s ect. I don’t necessarily think Burrell was a bad signing either but if it’s a straight choice between the two there is no comparison for me. Add in to that reports of Burrel having a disruptive influence in what seems to be a really tight dressing room I can see why he was released.
  10. It’s took a few transfer windows but he’s got us looking really strong now, particularly with us being up against a pretty strong and consistent Hamilton side so far this season. Think the decision to stick by McGlynn in the summer has proven to be the correct one, it would have been easy to go for the knee jerk reaction after that Airdrie result and pull the trigger on him.
  11. Think a few folk might have learned a lesson this time around after the melt down on here from some when MacIver signed. Still pleases me how he’s ramed some of those comments down peoples throats with his performances this season, it cant have been ideal for him reading some of the reaction at the time. McGlynns signings have mostly been on point since he came in so I’ve no reason to doubt Shanley won’t at least be decent.
  12. It’s competition for places. He’s there as cover for McIver, he’ll be used as a sub and start when McIver is injured/suspended which is totally the correct way to utilise the boy at the moment unless McIver somehow has a drop off in form.
  13. It’s actually quite incredible, does feel like the run has went under the radar a bit. It’s made even more impressive when you take into account Hamilton have been consistently breathing down our necks, there’s been some really impressive individual performances and results in the big games against the better sides both in the league and cup in amongst that as well.
  14. Only amongst Falkirk fans after a result like yesterday would this become a topic! I actually despair, yesterday and last night I was absolutely bouncing, can folk just not enjoy nice stuff when it happens please!
  15. Listen to the noise we are making throughout man! Fucking brilliant
  16. I have paid for the service and I know it is a real issue for some fans who use it and need it who maybe can’t attend games but these type complaints really do boil my piss in the context of us just having one of our most significant results in a good few years! Enjoy the win man! Spent the night absolutely bouncing and then as usual I read a few posts on here bringing me right back down to earth!
  17. I think regardless of anything anybody with eyes seen the better of two teams win on the day , it actually ended feeling like a very routine and comfortable 3 points. Thats footballing justice. Let’s all hope we keep it up and finish this off.
  18. Aye, they’ve really figured out how to play against us eh. McGlynn out! Lol
  19. I don’t think we did at all, pretty sure the match stats at the time backed that up as well. We lacked a cutting edge and weren’t at our best but that was probably down to Accies defending well as much as anything else in fairness. Although I couldn’t argue to much with only taking a point if anybody was winning that game it was Falkirk , especially towards the end of the game where we took a a few more risks and committed a lot of bodies forward at least attempting to get the winner.
  20. “Once you’ve lost” bold prediction that, your fellow Hamilton fans don’t seem as confident as this on the match thread. Let’s see how the games pans out …….
  21. So far this season even in the games where we’ve struggled to break teams down we’ve always set up in the same way and been very attack minded which has been refreshing, we get the ball forward a lot quicker and are more direct than we were last season so I’m expecting much the same tomorrow. I’d expect with a point probably being a better result for us than Hamilton and with Hamilton being the home side Rankin will set up to win also and play more expansively than he did for the game at TFS, could be proven totally wrong here and it ends up a 0-0 borefest but I think it’ll be an open game with goals in it which should suit our style of play and hopefully see us coming away with the 3 points.
  22. In the immediate future it’s also about as likely to happen as me winning the lottery! In fact I’d go as far to say I doubt he’ll ever start another game for us barring serious injury/suspensions.
  23. Recently Calvin Miller has been the better of the two IMO, he’s been a real surprise package for me this season and in a lot of the games he’s played has been our best player, he’s a wide player who can beat a man, can get himself into the box and also has an excellent delivery. He doesn’t always get the same recognition Morrison does but that’s probably to do with having had those two months out injured.
