  1. Latest club podcast is worth a listen, transparent as usual and plenty detail in there as to where we are and the work going on behind the scenes. Also reiterating how important it is to keep driving up the FSS membership if we are to put playing budgets together competitive in the top two or three of the championship. Also as has already been posted it sounds like we have been quite proactive in getting ahead of this vote on plastic pitches , it’s great the club aren’t just taking that laying down but I’ve a feeling we might just be pissing against the wind there.
  2. You’re a mind reader now? Nobody has insinuated anything other than the idea of Hibs getting 30k from us for Tait as being a bit ridiculous (it now appears his contract has been paid up/terminated as most probably suspected would happen leaving him free to sign with a club for free)
  3. Sorry, have I posted something that wasn’t factual or correct? Could you quote this please? (Presume that’s what you mean by bullshiting)
  4. Ah the “Hibs contacts” ……..the same contacts that said we’d have to pay them a 30k fee!
  5. Possibly if we didn’t manage to keep Ross, I did like Kai Kennedy as a player but I’d say all 4 of our current wide options (including Ross in that) are better than he was.
  6. Remember the melt downs on here before the season started because we hadn’t signed a right back!? ……..then it turned out we eventually did who we hardly needed to use anyway with Finn Yates stepping up to the plate fantastically in that position just as McGlynn predicted he would!
  7. I reckon Allan will be gone, he’ll have offers after the form he showed at Clyde and don’t think we’ll be hard to deal with.
  8. I have a feeling McKenna has been singed to compete with McIver going on how the Arbroath fans describe him and on how McGlynn described him. Good in the air, a nice touch and apparently is capable of mixing it up a bit. He did finish top scorer in the championship the season before last and won the leagues POTY. The fact he can play in a couple of positions similar to Oliver is obviously a bonus.
  9. Not necessarily, I doubt he’ll be on much money. Another club could either match his wages/offer him similar, or perhaps offer him the security of a longer contract to compensate for a wage cut given he’s now onto the final year of his current deal. None of these outcomes are particularly far fetched IMO and given his form for Clyde since January I think he will have options. Either way any pay out from Falkirk (if any) is likely to be minimal, it’s going to be far easier to get a young goal scoring striker of our books as opposed to trying to shift a Brad McKay type.
  10. We would not have to give him a deal to go if another full time club came in for him, we’d simply allow him to leave. That situation isn’t that far fetched given his form in the 2nd half of the season for Clyde probably attracted a bit of interest in him, in fact I’d wager if jobby McCall leaves Clyde and ends up at queen of the south as is rumoured it’s very likely Jordon Allan will end up there as well.
  11. Scottish cup I think probably the only trophy that would top this season, it’s the highest profile trophy we realistically have a chance of winning and would allow us to play in a European competition which would be massive. The other two cups don’t come close however.
  12. If Mackie is being released I can understand the Hanlon signing should it happen.
  13. Not sure if Hanlon at this stage in his career would be an upgrade on what we already have at left sided centre back or left back, I’d actually prefer us just to give Mackie a years extension however if there is truth in it I’m happy to trust Mcglynn given his record so far in recruitment.
  14. The man many on here would have had the club sack only a year ago
  15. Agreed, the atmosphere around the club at the moment is as good as I can ever remember. The same goes for the football on show, it’s arguably the most attractive and attacking i’ve seen us all be it playing against lesser opposition than in the Jeffries or Yogi era’s but you can only beat what’s in front of you. We seem to be getting most things right at the moment, the football, the business operations, the new academy and have implemented a democratic fan ownership model that’s actually working. I don’t want to jinx it but it really feels like as a club we could kick on and go from strength to strength. That target of being back in the premier league by 2026 might just be achieved if we all keep at it and don’t let any inevitable bumps in the road derail us. The fans have a massive part to play in getting behind the club both in a general sense and a financial one to keep this momentum going, it’s important when some form of shit does hit the fan we do all stay on the same page and keep that positive energy going for as long as possible.
  16. Haha, no it hasn’t. I actually agree with you in that proper Alloa fans wanting to travel deserve to see the game as well, it just seems a shame there are going to be perhaps 100 or more empty seats that could have been utilised but I understand there probably is no perfect solution to that issue all be it a small issue that it is.
  17. Fair point but would you rather have empty seats than paying customers as will be the case on Saturday?
  18. It’s disappointing there will be an empty section of seating segregating the home and an away fans along with unsold tickets in the Alloa end, we could have had a few more Falkirk fans in there. At the risk of sounding like one of the Glasgow arse cheeks could a case have been made for this one off game simply not to sell any away allocation and give the tickets to Falkirk fans?
  19. Remember seeing a really enthusing and heartfelt video message about the club and Alex Totten he sent for Tottens retirement thing in BTW.
  20. Was Chisholm not Ian McCall’s assistant? Think Tony Docherty had the same role under McCall as he did under Totten?
  21. Haven’t we already guarded against that by getting them all singed up early? Only one still at risk of walking is Yeats and the noises are he’s ready to sign on also.
  22. I’d thought this about McGinn as well, looking at the available options who else do we play there if Hendo is out? Bisland played for a bit today but that’s not ideal either. McGinn is probably our best shout.
  23. I very rarely use the service but on both occasions this season when I have (today was one of them) it’s worked perfectly fine and the footage has been reasonable.
  24. We could well end the season scoring 100 goals! You honestly think keeping Burrell would have improved our current frontline?! Those goals have been spread around with a number of players on double figures, I’d suggest as a team we’d have scored a far lower number without McIver being there, even if Burrel has managed a couple of extra goals over him to me a blind man should be able to see who the better all round player is having watched the difference Ross has made to our front line this season compared to last. Even outwith his overall contribution to the team as a whole it’s not as if his stats are bad either, what is it? 15ish goals and 7 or 8 assists in total?
  25. He is under contract until end of next season
