  1. Is football and going to the pub more important than an education that sets you up for life. I would say there is a lot of merit for no never mind yes

I think you just called it yourself.
Yes I believe you are correct in some ways but difference is. Each person of  team in the WOS is checked for temperature and all contact details are held. Each home team does this, (they check both home and away players and officials). They wont hold the contact numbers of the away players but will have the Covid officer of the away clubs hold the contact numbers which the Covid officer in turn can then supply numbers if there is  a positive case.  So that means they are in a bubble of some sort.

Any fan going to watch a game outside a park, is not temperature checked, is not known and no contact details listed so if he stands beside another fan or neutral they can infect each other with no way of tracing them.
I was at a game recently and on the outside fence there were 15 people watching, 10 of them standing together, side by side.  One official went out to ask them to leave and was told to (feck off). If one of those 15 fans or neutrals watching has Covid then a good chance some or most of the 15 watching fans will contract it and spread it. There is no control on this so this is why all fans are told to stay away until some control package / criteria can be announced.

Should football been cancelled this season at these levels, there's a lot of merit for a yes and lot of merit for a no.
Should the government have opened the pubs and universities like they did a few months back, there's merit for a yes and merit for a no.

in the months since march or even before, this pandemic is new to every single person living on this world and we are all trying to adapt and deal with it, as in individuals, families, friends, governments, countries and no one has the best solution yet
  2. People can carry this virus asymptomaticaly or are you a complete clown. That means that you can carry the virus to an elderly relative or someone in you family who is high risk without even being aware of it.I suggest you go and get yourself educated before spouting off at me.I am only concerned for the public at large and my family who some of them work in the health service and have to work with covid patients everyday. And believe me this virus doesn't care who you are and what age you are as I know there have been fatalities of young people with this virus not too far away from where I live and probably yourself. And people gathering in football teams only aids the spread.

More nonsense from an absolute snowflake .
Someone dies ffs couldn't make this garbage up,  no football player will die from this virus,  every player wants to play and will do so responsibly and the fans will enjoy the games remotely till they get let back in which will most likely be before the end of the season.
League champions will be declared and cup ties will get played and cup winners celebrated.
Get over it you utter melt.
  3. More evidence that this experiment needs to stop before we have a fatality. Playing these bounce games only adds to the spread

The bigger issue here and it has mentioned in previous posts regarding isolation is that now there are 14 guys who are potentially losing wages from there real jobs due to playing football.
  4. Wrong my team are playing today

You are a classic example of a  pathetic spineless snowflake who is raging that 95 per cent of non league clubs in scotland are playing football and getting on with things . You probably from one of the so called bigger clubs who shat the bed,  who expected everyone to follow you like sheep and they didn't!
The likes of you need to do everyone a favour and get yourself into hibernation .
  5. If this is true why are they going ahead with the game and why has the governing body not putting sanctions in place to stop the game. This virus will be circulating for longer than need be due to idiotic decisions being made by people that should know better

A couple of Darvel players have tested positive for Covid but there game is still going ahead it was only a mater of time before someone doon the Brae caught the virus with the amount of times this club and there players / management/ committee flouted the pandemic rules .

  6. Well said sir,at least someone on here who has grasped the seriousness of the national situation

They should have taken complete responsibility and made the decision for the good of the game at this level. You can't form a leadership committee and then work via concensus. Leaders were voted in, not facilitators. Every piece of correspondence which has emerged has felt like this.  If it's not "let the clubs decide" it's "that decision was down to the SFA".
The way this year has gone it should have been a no-brainer to wait until fans were allowed to watch. To have 40 odd people travelling across the west of scotland (or beyond in the case of the SSC) is a folly. No matter how many clubs wanted to play.
There was a part of me that felt clubs should have been allowed to play if they wanted but the fact that the Glasgow region went into Level 4 restrictions and the committee still used the "professional" angle was an utter disgrace. Those in favour of playing can kid themselves on that the games being played have not contributed to any spread if they want but it's bound to have done.
"The clubs wanted it" is a cop out.
  7. What I am saying is the decision shouldn't have been up to the clubs. The decision should have been made by the governing body as an unilateral decision. In my eyes it was a body swerve by the governing body to shoulder the blame on to the clubs when things don't work out. And to put people in to a dangerous situation of close contact without adequate protection and testing not only goes against the national rules of the Scottish government but is downright irresponsible. Then to hide under the auspices of its a professional sport. Its not any different than the ammies or 2 pub teams meeting up in a Sunday morning. The higher leagues and the English Premier league has testing in place, we do not,and those players are in a bubble ours are not.And now there has been a directive put out by the IMG warning clubs about fans gathering outside grounds to watch games. Now you are telling me that clubs existence is more important than human life. I don't think so.We are only months away from vaccine protection for all then we can get back to some sort of normality

Not wanting it to be taken personally but do you know something more than most of us and do you know more than some of those who are in direct conversations with people involved. I can say, 100%, from the people I've had conversations with that the choice was up to the clubs. They were given guidelines, the ones who withdrew were told how it would work when they came back and the ones who stay and play were told of the advantages and penalties if withdrawing after the deadlines.

Lets make it clear, its been a big deal all ex junior teams leaving the junior ranks to join the senior ranks, (some forced because the West Junior association said they wont be running in season 20/21) and with the the Lowland league and the West of Scotland wanting all the clubs to survive and want them all to participate next year and not fold. So they gave them the choice to withdraw of not

  8. What club are you targeting next.Thats you had a go at Maybole now you are having a go at Kilwinning. Who's next Ardeer,Lugar,Muirkirk maybe Kello.Wind your neck in ya clown and use your time more productively instead of try to stir the shit

Syme out and mcwaters left. Not confirmed Syme but announcement by club on Mcwaters
i think he was a starter so it seems strange to let him go.
does anyone know what is happening at the club?
  9. Can't say I agree with his saying that we let the clubs decide. Seems like a bit of a cop out of responsibility. The decision to play should have been made by IMG whether to play and not by some wet behind the ears football players and temporary committee men.Personally speaking I believe this season should have been declared null and void and we start with fans fully vaccinated as normal in August

    Very informative appearance

  10. f**k me Billy Joel even knows about the West of Scotland League. Uncanny

Maybole playing games, auchinleck cant say the same, kennie young doing fixtures and pollok they drop out, darvel out their signing stars and bankies top the league, drumchapel, yoker too, just what will the others do, vale of leven, irvine vics dont know what will come of it
covid didnt kill the banter, it was always burning since the worlds been turning.
  11. Precisely why this folly should be halted until the vaccine is delivered and becomes effective at killing off the virus. We should start afresh in August with fans present. You know it makes sense Rodney

Don't know if it was the reason game was off on Saturday but heard of one Beith player testing positive for covid!
  12. Now there's a sensible decision

It could be worse. Scottish Rugby today called off the entire club rugby season. At least there is football at this level and maybe we should be thankful rather than shouting for more exceptions for fans to return.
  13. Only solution is stop this madness until we eradicate this virus

Exactly when it first started up with contact training etc we had a positive test. The player had trained twice that week due to being outside nobody other than the two who travelled to Training with the positive player had to isolate. Now in the Fife league we are seeing track and trace contact and isolate anyone in the red zone (players and ref )meaning boys are getting threatened with their jobs if continue to play
Football . It’s the inconsistency that’s frustrating for everyone as the rules have changed once the season started.
  14. Wishful thinking

The main changes on moving from level 3 to level 4 where lockdown regulations are concerned are that non-essential shops, hospitality and gyms close. For many people that makes little practical difference from what is already happening and it's difficult to see what the relevance is to this thread given professional football remains exempt from restrictions even at level 4.
Beyond that angle, schools stay open and most workplaces remain open to the same extent as before, so level 4 isn't a move back to late March and April. There's no level 5 in place for what to do after that, which means there is no obvious scenario under which the WoS season would be ended at this point. The SNP seem to be downplaying the idea that level 4 is inevitable and seem upbeat about having a vaccine before Christmas:
    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-54950003
Level 0 is the scenario that has been designed for a post-vaccine introduction environment, so if the Pfizer vaccine unfolds as hoped there appears to be an obvious pathway to crowds being back before the end of the season if that optimistic timeline on first vaccine arrival proves to be accurate.
