  1. Cut to 1 and playing the old course for the first time in a couple of weeks. Would only do it if it's a freebie as it's a fucking goat track. Just ticking a box are you. I know nobody will believe me but roon yiz anyway. Not even looking forward to it cause it blows.

  2. Inverness winning the league cup is bigger than this

I told you international football dwarfs all club football and when we finally got some success you'd see it. Nothing in club football could ever touch this. The entire country is bouncing right now. There's nothing like it. Well done lads x

I don’t need any recommendations thank you. Now off you pop back to your imaginary caddy hut

We both know that's not true champ. If it wasn't for me you'd still be hacking it round St Michaels and thinking it's a good course.

You're welcome though, always glad to enlighten less knowledgeable and experienced players.

Played Drumoig today. Really enjoyed it and will definitely try to get back there in the summer to play the course at its full length and in warmer conditions

Oooh what gave you that idea?

Wee bit better than St Michaels eh.

I have lots more suggestions as it happens. If you don't act like a w**k I'll give you some more recommendations.

    Glad you enjoyed it.

I've decided to take up golf again after not playing for circa 18 years. I've been to the driving range a few times and cured the push I had last summer when I played 2 rounds.

The clubs I have are 20 years old. My handicap was 4 when I stopped playing. Are new clubs worth it?

Depends on a lot of things.

How much money do you have/want to spend

How seriously are you going to take it

    How old are you

What type of golfer are you

What do you have now from twenty years ago

You can buy second hand stuff way cheaper and if you know a bit which you probably do can roughly guess what you want.

Fitting is massive now and wasn't back then so that's the big difference.

How tall are you? If you're average height that will help.

You can also get fitted and they can tell you what's best for you and you can just look for that sort of stuff second hand (meaning loft/lie, shaft weight and stiffness)

I would suggest anything you have that is not steel shaft you should probably replace as graphite degrades over time. So probably driver, 3 wood and maybe rescue/hybrid or 5 wood.

Sidenote rescues were in their infancy then. Maybe you used long irons. Rescues are brilliant. Stick it in the middle of your stance like it's a 6 iron and smash it, easier to hit than a 9 iron.

Also wedges are all the rage now, not so back then. I would guess you have something like a set of ping zing or something like that. They're still class and have the wedges covered for you generally. If you have something else you might want to look at a wedge or two.

So a lot to think about and lots of options. Basically largely dependent on how much money you want to spend and how seriously you want to take it. The second hand market is brilliant and the internet makes buying golf stuff amazing compared to twenty years ago.

So don't rush in have a wee look round and a wee think about it and shop smart you can get a lot of great stuff for not too much these days.

Out of interest what do you have? I've got a feeling ping zing/eye2 or Mizuno t-zoid. It would be interesting if you did a what's in the bag.

Also balls go online you get dog walkers etc who will sell you a hundred pro V's for eighty quid or something. Great deals can be found for everything.

f**k me supporting this club is miserable. One cup in 28 years, pumped out numerous times by lower league opponents and now pumped out by a non league team.

It's no wonder folk like me drift away from the club so easily to the point we barely go to games. There's absolutely no attraction in the club at all just now. We'll cycle through another 3 years of pish before 3 or 4 years of hitting where we should be but failing to deliver any real glory.

Who knows what Cormack will do next. We've drifted continually backwards since his return to the club.

Aye one cup in 28 years and you hounded the manager that got it out of the club. That was smart eh.

  7. Very overrated and a bit of a w****r imo.

Also claims to have never made a triple bogey. Bullshit. Tiger Woods has made triple bogeys. Give me his bag I'll get him a couple no problem.

I've seen him hit a ball on YouTube and his swing isnae that great like. Not shite but not particularly impressive.

  8. And if you ever see Miura irons on eBay or somewhere like that for say two hundred quid buy the f**k out of them.

This happens more than you would imagine, as sometimes people come across say from a dead family member them and don't know what they have. They're very niche because of the price so people assume they're shit cause they haven't heard of them and punt them cheap.

They're not shit. Miura have never made a set of irons that aren't brilliant. Mizuno is basically poor man's Miura. For most of us Mizuno are the best irons you can get.

This happens less often these days but still happens. A friend of mine has made a lot of money doing this over the years. You can buy a set for £150 off eBay and sell them for £1200 or something. Always worth a wee scan.

New irons day yesterday, my old ones were 10 years old and got a cracking deal on a set of Honmas. I tried a few sets from the usual suspects of Cobra, Callaway, TaylorMade etc but these ones just felt so much better and I was striking the ball cleaner as well.

Honma tend to be expensive, decorative and standard shafts are usually very light. This will increase clubhead speed for a lot of golfers.

What did you get, what shafts are in them and did you have to take out a mortgage?

Some Honma sets in days gone by could be ten grand. Gold plated and shit. I'm guessing there's gold involved somewhere. They love that shit.

All Japanese clubs are very high quality basically. If anyone wants a wee peruse look up Miura. They're the best irons ever made. All hand forged, you just get the heads and have to get shafts put in them yourself.

When Tiger played Nike the rumour, almost certainly true, was always that they weren't actually Nike they were Miura with Nike markings added. Typical set of irons would be something like seven grand.

Quote where it happened then? £10 charity bet that he will leave on loan this month?

I suspect I am much better at football than you ever were, I'm just not a fantasist who thinks he was a professional. Not that my ability, or lack thereof, has anything to do with how I judge a footballer. You think you know better than Brightons world renowned recruitment team. You are a well known fantasist. You thought he was doing terribly and doubled down despite him just playing 90 mins in the league. This is going terribly for you, and I expect it will get worse, you have a long way still to dig I think. How low will you go?

Correct, he played the full 90 and the Brighton fans seem pretty happy with him. Not spectacular but perfectly solid at this level.

It's either bitter Norwich fans that he moved to the top league, or the weirdo fantasists on here putting him down. It means absolutely nothing of course. You don't have to look far for wild BBC rating calls.

And your second paragraph makes no sense - you're just going to keep posting regardless right? It doesn't seem to matter to you how frequently you embarrass yourself and make basic errors. It's a little endearing again, you make a complete arse of yourself but keep coming back for more. It's resilience, I'm sure it happens to you in real life too.

Imagine taking the views of a guy who pretends to be a professional footballer who met Obama?

Imagine thinking BBC ratings are a better source than the manager, who kept him on all much, or the fans who seem happy with him.

Imagine agreeing with Halfcutninja and Bing - these are the people you want to be like? Really?

Omg shut up. Three months. That's the bet. Cause I want you to shut up.

You know Messi's pointing to the air goal celebration that's become iconic, now ripped off by what's the wee cnt at Man City Foden that's him.

Well anyway Messi once did that right in front of where we were sitting. 15-20 yards away, and sometimes I think damn that would have been a brilliant picture. With zoom it would have looked amazing. But really I'm glad I just watched it instead.

We could trust that or our own eyes, where it was blindingly obvious Gilmour was one of Brighton's best players on the day.

    Not for me.

He's the best passer of a ball they have but an absolute liability off the ball.

These ratings are actually a very good guide cause thousands of people vote in them so the idiots get averaged out.

I didn't see anything yesterday to make me think he's improving on the issues he has. He did grow in confidence throughout the game and hadn't played 90 minutes for about nine months so that will have been good for his fitness but those were the only real positives.

  13. 4 minutes ago, Satoshi said:

It's deflection surely? Can you get anything right?

And not at all actually, I'm about 6 foot 2, and not very good at football. It helps with my tennis serve but that's about it.

Being very small is a disadvantage, there aren't many 5 foot footballers, but being very tall is also a bit disadvantage. At Gilmours height, in his position, it probably is a slight advantage. Hence why the very best playmakers are around his height. It won't hold him back at all. This isn't basketball, and football is much the better for it. Some of the best players of all time have been athletically quite undistinguished, and you wouldn't find that in most sports.

Probably the thousands of accounts you created. It really is the most random marker of a players ability, no surprise you chose it.

Lamptey had a shocking game and was directly responsible for two of their goals.

    An amateur player 😅

Why don't you take the charity bet on him leaving on loan? I doubt it, in addition to being a fantasist you strike me as a spineless coward.

Shut up nutcase. I did. Three months, that's the bet. You've turned it down twice.

As for goals it was Gilmour's header that was responsible for Arsenal's second goal. I noticed you said you're not very good at football. Quelle surprise. Well if you were you'd know you get taught at ten years old you head that out wide, not weakly into the middle of the box for someone to smash home like Gilmour did.

Watch it, now I've explained that to you it will be very obvious.

  14. He was Brighton's worst rated player on BBC yesterday.

Good to see him start but still miles off it. 23 minute mark perfect example the RB Lamptey had to rush in and do his job for him defensively as he can't/won't do it himself.

Good on the ball but he'll be good on the ball till he's 65. That's never been the problem. On the ball he's CL level. Off the ball a bad amateur player.

He'll leave on loan in January.

I'm with @HalfCutNinja on this one. Deek was a gem. I remember the Aberdeen fans had had enough of the man and I asked at the time who could they possibly get in who would do as good a job as he had done? Sadly Aberdeen's fans delusions of grandeur resulted in him being pushed out rather than sticking by him during a tricky period. You could perhaps be forgiven if Cormack had made a statement managerial signing, a big name that shows Aberdeen mean business. Instead you went with rookie Stephen Glass and then replaced him with Jim Goodwin FFS. It's laughable.

    Hell mend you all.

And spent millions to go backwards then at best stand still. All to placate a delusional fanbase that hated the guy, despite him doing a wonderful job, purely because he's a 'Rangers man' (so is Alex Ferguson btw you teuchter wallopers) despite him literally turning Rangers down to stay at Aberdeen.

My concern is Scottish football btw. I don't hate Aberdeen. I think Scottish football needs a strong Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts. And for the first time in decades McInnes had delivered that. Only for it to be ruined by a fanbase of delusional spoilt brats.

  16. 1 minute ago, 1GregStewart said:

McInnes was leaving at the end of that season anyway, so all you’re slavering is over nothing. He was moving on after a long and decent spell. Nothing lasts forever.

Because no success was good enough for the most delusional fanbase in the history of the game. Anyone would tire of delivering consistent success that your employer hadn't seen for decades and still being a hate figure to a bunch of fannies.

  17. 9 minutes ago, afc_blockhead said:

We started well for a few months and then we were horrific for 6 months and stayed top 4 due to incompetence elsewhere.

Anyways Glass finished in the european places that season.. not mcinnes.

Ferguson and his time at Man Utd is a stupid example given by people who are desperate. Its a total anomaly as he was the greatest manager ever.

How many other clubs have kept a manager too long and ended up going backwards or even relegated? Dundee Utd have plenty of examples of that im sure!

By the Ferguson logic no team would sack any manager no matter what as long as they had been successful at some point ...

Are you suggesting if mcinnes (who.. as you like to ignore said himself he was burnt out and had told cormack he would leave at the end of the season) stayed he would have gone on to win numerous trophies? Or is the Ferguson comparison as i suspect totally pointless.

Just because Ferguson (the greatest manager ever) turned round a bad man utd run Aberdeen should have kept mcinnes... 😆

No it's not it's the perfect example because even the greatest had similar runs of form. So to hound a manager who's proven to be successful out of the door because of such a run of form is idiotic.

What do you mean 'numerous trophies '? See what I mean you're fucking delusional. You've won one trophy in 30 years and guess who won that? So success for Aberdeen is not winning numerous trophies it's exactly what McInnes was delivering. You'll never understand cause you're delusional.

  18. 8 minutes ago, afc_blockhead said:

They were 2 "temporary" runs of bad form that happened close together

Also they both happened in his last 18 months having never happened in all his other years with Aberdeen.  It was going downhill fast

I know Dundee Utd fans are used to that sort of run happening every year.

Ferguson is the ultimate extreme example everyone gives. However 99% of football managers no matter how successful theyve been have a shelf life.

Mcinnes by his own admission had exceeded his. He was leaving at the end of the season anyway.

If Goodwin stays and gets top 4 and qualifies for europe (certainly not impossible in this tight league) does that mean we were justified to part ways with Mcinnes?

Or does Aberdeens current "temporary bad run of form"  over 4 matches have huge meaning for your trolling fun , whilst 6-9 months of shit "temporary bad run of form" under Mcinnes meant nothing?

    Odd viewpoint

Yet despite "6-9 months of shit" you were 4th weren't you? That's how delusional you are and how much the consistent, sustained success McInnes had delivered spoiled you as a fanbase.

I was talking about Ferguson at Man United where he.jad.rums like that. He's the perfect example cause he's the best.

Aberdeen have never been as good since McInnes left despite increasing investment. Because he did a brilliant job and it still wasn't enough for the most delusional fanbase in the world.

  19. 10 minutes ago, afc_blockhead said:

The fact Mcinnes said his time was up and he had gone stale is a clue here

It wasnt just shit football in Mcinnes last 18 months .

2 wins in his last 14 , failing to score in 8 of them, 6 goalless games in a row (he set the 2 longest runs without a goal scored by Aberdeen across 2 consecutive seasons). He was done

Even Dundee United would get rid of a manager after that run

These are just temporary bad runs of form. Even Alex Ferguson had that. He would still have got you into Europe, as he did every year.

He probably said he was done as he was sick of delusional Aberdeen fans who didn't recognise success even when it was rammed in their face year after year after year as they are the most delusionally arrogant fanbase in world football.
