  1. First of all, I’m over the moon we’ve made the top six and delighted we’ve actually got something to play for and it feels like we can  actually compete in it compared to the 14/15 season.

Obviously it’s been well documented on how many points we’ve dropped from winning positions this season, especially late on in games. So we could have been level or a point clear of St Mirren or what not but then again, they’ve probably done the same at some point as well.

I was too young to go to Perugia back in 2003 so seeing Dundee in Europe is one thing I want to tick off my list. Here’s hoping there’s one big final push in our remaining five games and we all get rewarded by going to some arse end country like Armenia or North Macedonia.

Sets up for an exciting end to the season and after Wednesdays result and performance, we should have no fear against Celtic next Sunday.

  2. 1 hour ago, Crawford said:

Doc has been amazing but just remember we aren't the only ones to see it.

I'm now waiting for a larger chequebook to show up. Long may it stay in the bureau though.

I know money talks but he’s landed himself lucky with a job right on his doorstep and gets to spend a lot more time with his family.

More to life than money but then again the football world is a completely different world to us normal people live in.

  3. Excellent result and a bit of breathing space between us and 11th now.
I echo the comments about the St Johnstone game, frustrating to know we could of been 3rd at this stage if we held on then.

I love how solid we look at the back and although we have conceded 15, more than half have been against the old firm so it’s a great platform to build from.

Set piece monsters as well and after listening to Robinsons post match interview, he knew we were a big threat and worked on it all week and still couldn’t stop it!

    Onwards and upwards.

  4. Obviously Carson would be a very good signing but it’s just a strange move considering how well McCracken has looked so far.

I don’t think Norwich would be too pleased with McCracken sitting on the bench and it was Stuart Taylor who recommended him to the Doc anyway so it’s just bizarre but if the management feel we need to improve there then so be it.

Only logical reason behind all this is if Combe is away, Legzdins takes up the coaching role and Sharp is away out on loan with McCracken and Carson fighting it out for number one.

  5. As frustrating as it is to exit the cup already in the group stages (I think our first in a good few seasons), this is probably the one season where I’n not really fussed tbh.

This season is all about consolidating ourselves again in the top flight and we could do without the midweek game(s) where we’ll likely pick up fatigue and injuries to key players.

I echo the comments about the starting eleven, far too negative. We looked a greater threat second half once McCowan, Cameron and Bakayoko came on and we were unlucky not to score more than the one. Although the concern is we’re not taking our upteen chances every game but it is sort of the pre season phase so hopefully this irons out.

  6. Obviously a really important win last night but a deserved win and one where I felt we were still in control even with a man less. I can’t remember the last time I could say that about a Dundee team as we usually always crumble even if we have the same numbers on the pitch with a lead ten minutes to go. This side seems well drilled, it might have taken ten or so games to get to this point but credit to Gary Bowyer for this.

I didn’t read any of the pre match talk but why was our bench so light tonight?

Also that’s four red cards this season in eighteen games. Thankfully we’re top and have the depth to cope with these suspensions.

  7. Yep I bought my tickets two Saturdays ago. I managed to get 4 together in the Bobby Cox and it was slim pickings then. I know it’s been covered but the £30 is a complete and utter joke but I’m guessing that’s the board charging the same as to what utd done to us.

Out of curiosity, what were the prices for adults in the Celtic and Rangers game?

  8. Regarding the tackle having only seen it live on the tv at the time. The ref from what I can remember, actually took a few seconds before giving the foul and booking. Either he hasn’t saw the tackle fully and went by the players reaction or he has saw the full tackle and has somehow only decided that’s a yellow.

    Incompetent either way.

  9. Decent pack that [emoji23]

I’m in the middle of doing him. Is he decent? He’d be a massive upgrade on my Amavi who is utter shite.
  10. Don’t see why we shouldn’t be optimistic about picking points up in 4 of these games tbh.

Yeah I hope we do pick up more points than the five I said but it’s going to be hard ask. Even though Hibs and Aberdeen have been in poor form, you always get that nagging feeling in your head that they’ll always turn it around when we come to town.
Also, going by the stats we haven’t won at Ibrox since 2001, Easter Road since 2001 and Pittodrie since 2004. My gut feeling is we’ll win away to Ross County and get draws against Hearts and Aberdeen.
  11. I just looked at our next five fixtures and didn’t realise how tough they are.

    Rangers (A)
    Ross County (A)
    Hibs (A)
    Hearts (H)
    Aberdeen (A)

The Motherwell and St Johnstone win could be crucial as let’s be realistic here, we’re not going to take a lot of points from these fixtures although I’d love to be proved wrong. If we were to get 5 points from these games then I’d be happy with that.
