Lyndon Dykes is fine. Does a good job for the team and played an important part in qualification. It's too narrow a viewpoint to just measure his contribution by goals scored.

It's the same as measuring a midfielder by the number of passes they make or defenders by the number of tackles. It's too reductive.

It is too reductive. That's why Che Adams is still considered good enough. His other contributions still add to the team.

Dykes is providing nothing these days, and hasn't done for more than a year at a relatively low level. There is something wrong. Hopefully the NI friendly helped Clarke to make the tough call that is required.

Apparently Ross Stewart will be back in time for the playoffs although that is maybe wishful thinking

Think we need to face the facts that he's just not a very good player.

He was never brilliant but he was a lot better than he is now. It seems like he is shot - putting him on the pitch in Germany would humiliate him. If his form picks up next season then he should still be considered, but it looks like that will be for a League  1 or 2 club unfortunately.

It says it was published 1 day ago but fair enough. In that case 4 of the last 10 is correct for Dykes, but it's also still correct for Frey. Neither of them started the previous game at Stoke (again, Sinclair Armstrong did). Doesn't change the fact that he's still getting regular football at QPR and the narrative that he's "out of favour" still doesn't stand up to much scrutiny. Of their three centre forwards he's getting the most game time.

And what are you calling an assist by the way? Have you seen their goal on Tuesday? Dykes effort at goal is cleared off the line (might already have been over but probably wasn't) and Sam Field put the rebound in. Is that not counted as an assist? It is in any stat I've ever seen.

Well that's just factually untrue. Dykes has started 5 of their last 10 league games. Michael Frey has started 4 of them. One game v Sheffield Wednesday neither of them started (Sinclair Armstrong did). The narrative here of Frey being preferred, doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

The article was written before the midweek games. Liam Cullen's goal on Wed night isn't included in the Stats for instance.

You can update Dyke's Wed contribution for that article to include Tue night - so add in 0 goals and 0 assists.

Wasn't saying it was something to celebrate, was just pointing out that the "Dykes is finished at QPR" narrative is nonsense.

I think a decent Champioship level striker is top of their shopping list for the summer.

Was Dykes last goal for Scotland the one he scored against Norway away?

Yes. But incredibly that was also the last away goal he has scored in any competition for club and country.

Dykes is not out of favour at QPR.

OK he hasn't been banished from the squad, but he is 2nd choice striker and he is definitely out of favour with the fanbase.
SOme of them accusing him of not trying which I dont believe. It is a shame though, he definitely has contributed for us. I wonder if that pneumonia he had last year has had longer term effects.

Has he? When did this suddenly happen?

It has been the case for over six months. Dunno if it was sudden, but it is certainly accepted. He is currently out of favour at QPR due to consistent poor performance. Search "dykes QPR" on twitter and brace yourself

Dykes back starting for QPR today. QPR are basically rotating their front players at the moment.

Hooked off after 59 mins. Reviews are mixed....

If we'd had the centre backs pass the ball to one another across their own penalty box for the rest of the game after the goal we'd have had 98% possession but it wouldn't be the strikers fault he hadn't been involved.

I agree with that scenario, but that wasn't the case. The ball was camped in their half the whole game. A good striker is meant to stretch and probe, create space. Not just run around like a lump, waiting for a ball to drop in front of him in the penalty area

We definitely improved with Adams, Shankland and Armstrong on the pitch, although it would have been difficult for Scotland to have got worse. Based on form, Dykes should be nowhere near starting for Scotland.

Radio described Dykes as having to feed on scraps. We had 83% possession! I don't know if he was slyly trying to make a point. I would pick Brown over Dykes as the 3rd striker if he is fit.

Unfair to question Barry Ferguson's Hat's integrity. The level of detail contained within his report is far too specific to be fabricated nonsense.

Please tell me this post is dripping with irony.

It's a good sign that they'll be opening up for sales and the resale hub in early March though, my bet would be next Tuesday but maybe before.

Where do you see Early March mentioned? I only see "March"

    Quite easily tbf.

(No. of People wanting tickets / No. of Tickets available) × 100

Yep. So let's assume from the 500000 applicants 10000 got their tix that leaves 490000 chasing the tickets that are resold on UEFA that were not grabbed by the touts. 1000 if you're lucky? So I reckon a 0.1% chance. Round that to 0% chance and that leaves two options - buy from the professional resellers or go to Fanzone. I would love to be wrong BTW.

But for me, no need to pay touts for something I can find myself.  But I understand if you don't have the desire or patience or ability for the official resale platform, and to queue in any last minute sales situation.

What are these tickets you refer to? I strongly suspect the official resale platform will be oversubscribed and chances of getting tickets this way will be 1% at best. Just to give you some stats here - 500000 tickets applications were made for the Hungary game.

  16. I can see that LFT has worked in the past, but that seems to be for games where you can use a printed out QR code. Have they worked for matches that require apps (i.e. print outs don't work)? Also the 150% money back guarantee only gives the extra 50% as a voucher for future ticket purchases.

  17. What is the deal with the ticket reseller sites? Do they actually guarantee you a ticket, or do they just refund you if they can't get hold of a ticket nearer the time?
