They have always had a big budget though. We can't take anything away from the start Mick and Si have made.
Boβness would probably disagree

Some absolutely baffling tactical decisions on Saturday
Just had a look at your line-up, with the exception of Brett missing, it seems like a pretty decent team?

Can anyone stop EK? Early days but they look like they are a level above.
Probably not, this is where their vastly superior budget comes into play.

Four losses in a row now. Need to turn that trend soon.
Yes, been a tough run, but to be expected, especially after losing so much quality. I still think mid table is achievable.

God are we getting the old clap trap about CP? Maybe understandable from SPFL fans but down hereΒ Β
I would say most SLFL grounds are comparable with SPFL 2 grounds.

Well beaten today, probably fortunate to lose by only 1, however our fight is not with these teams, and we should concentrate on taking points from βmiddle/bottomβ placed teams.

The other day on the WOS forum you wanted SOS teams relegated to TEIR 11 ? Please don't answer are sarcasm.

I thought this was a Gretna thread?

The SPFL reserve league is continuing for this season, but yet again several of the clubs are choosing not to engage with it.The reserve league lacks a bit of credibility, teams like Livingston pay it lip service by signing players from tier 5 and below teams with the sole purpose of playing them on a Tuesday afternoon, as far as I am aware there is no danger of any of this team progressing. I assume they have to such a team as part of their license, or Premiership membership.

Not a lot in yesterdayβs game, undone by 2 corners just before halftime, which was disappointing.Β

Albion Rovers to the west as well. So currently one to the South, five to the West, and nine to the East.Β
ΒBroomhill chose West, even when they played in the east.Β
I believe teams donβt get the choice, they are designated by the leagues.

Don't underestimate youth. Especially if they are talented and have belief. Decent start makes the managers task easier to motivate the boys for midweek.
Agree with that, the real test will come win we hit a bit of adversity, and see their reaction. All in all though itβs a really good start against a fancied team.

From what I've been told at games down here they have players on short term contracts. That won't be conducive to building a squad. If Edin Uni are better than last year Gretna may be following Star down here for next season.
Hope you are on your way to the Alliance or there already?
Β Just travelling back!! Welcome if unexpected win today, especially with such a young squad.

Seen them at Threave 1st friendly; not impressed one bit.
Their location is actually quite good my friend being right on the Cumbrian border and only 5 mins from Carlisle. They are not in an isolated part of D&G, being right on the M74 they are only an hour or so from Central Belt.
But they dont seem to be a draw. Get the impression not that much liked around D&G area.
I totally understand what you mean about the location, I think their main issue is that the teams round about them in Carlisle/Cumbria will probably pay better.Β
ΒI actually quite like going there. So I hope they get it together.

Hearts B will be better this season. The crop of players are highly thought of this year.
Gretna would have been hoping for improvement given signings but looks like a long season ahead again for them.
With all due respect to Gretna, their signings have been largely underwhelming, and reflect their appeal. It is of course worth saying that they have a limited pool to choose from given their location.

There's something different about this East Kilbride team that I've not seen before, there's composure, retaining the ball, fighting for it back when it's lost, a team spirit, even with 5-6 subs the team played exactly the same way.
I watched us against Ayr utd and if it wasn't for the lack of concentration at the start of both halves we were easily competing against a championship side.
We are definitely contenders to win the league this year.Β
Itβs amazing what you can do on such a small budget

Who is the money man behind all of the sudden cash at Johnstone?
I do agree that the team is now of the quality to win the league without any more βcelebrityβ signings. The cash should be invested in upgrading Keanie Park and getting the club a Licence.
With the money they have they should have just taken over a club further up the pyramid, and circumnavigate the whole license thing.

When is the next opportunity for the clubs to vote on the relegation rules? After this season?
The opportunity has never went away, clubs can raise a motion at anytime.
