He was on loan to us in 2020 before going out to Kelty the season after. Didn't really feature as we had Harry Milne. Looked decent and by all accounts he's progressed but better than Liam Dick in that position not sure.
Better defensively than offensively. Definitely not versatile and able to cover CB as not really got the height.
You’d be a better LB than Liam Dick do anything will be an upgrade

At this rate we might have to give Mark Campbell and Marvin Andrews a call to come out of retirement to play CH

I think there’s more to this than what Raith are saying not too long ago he was appointed as player coach but more solely looking to coach than play when we did get the CHs in now he’s fully retired In my honest opinion I think there’s a bit more to this……. But good luck to him on the retirement had a good career

With the talk about work permits, would Poplatnik not fall under the same category? I can't see a double in a challenge cup final being enough for him to be granted a permit.
Think he’s already got one since he played/signed for Livingston so they must have got that sorted for him

There is a boy on fantalk who seems ITK re Poplatnik saying that we have now decided to make him a signing offer.
If true its really disappointing that having faffed about all summer we've now been reduced to making an offer to Poplatnik after all.
I’ll believe when I see it tbh, I personally don’t think it will happen

i suggest poplatnik will be back with us by the end of this week. also look out for 2 scaninavions coming in too.
Poplatnik won’t come back Imo because apparently he’s asked for too much money elsewhere and with our rumoured budget being down can we afford him?

Exactly the kind of player I thought we would get , promising but unproven, tbh we need him or someone like him and he will learn a lot from Berra , would prefer more experience but he does look highly rated so hopefully it happens, noticed he played yesterday for hibs v Norwich
But we also need someone else experienced as a CH someone who is 25/26/27 age bracket because you can’t put all this pressure on the young lad and essentially be our only other CH so one more to hopefully get us through until Lang is back

What’s your young defender Kyle McClelland like? we’ve apparently been linked with him for a season long loan

He's only just signed for Hibs so you'd imagine it would have to be on loan
I think this is true I think he’s either just signed for hibs or signed an contract extension

I've heard Kyle McLelland (defender) from Hibs is signing. Not sure if it's a loan or permanent. He's a young boy though, part of their under 20's.
Probably likely a loan as I’m sure he’s not long signed for hibs (if this is true) but we will also need a permanent signing of a defender as well

I’d leave any judging of Murray till after the 1st 1/4 of the league season.
Agreed. We can all see (including Murray) where signings are needed, but unfortunately these things take time. He seems to be after specific targets rather than just signing the first name offered to him as well which is encouraging. The cups, while providing potential extra income are not the priority. I'll judge him on his first quarter rather than these games.
Better than McGlynn coming out every window saying he can fill a stand with footballers but he needs the right ones then signs the likes of Mendy, BRS, Adam king and more

Tbf to him it sounds like he has identified the players he wants from certain clubs but not had the go ahead from parent club, if one signs this week I will be happy
I think 1 will be permanent and maybe 2 loans if I’m honest

Murray has done his post match interview and he said that the signings that were supposed to happen there was external factors out of his and the clubs control….. so maybe we can cut the guy some slack but he did say that he hopes 1 or 2 is in within the next 48-72hrs

A few years ago I would’ve taken him but not sure he can play our style and also he might want to stay part time and doesn’t want to relocate

Once again, you’re trying to act like you know something that everyone else doesn’t and treating it like it’s gospel.
No one knows if we’re being outbid as no one knows who our targets are
Our budget might still have quite a lot of funds available. Not a single one of us will know anything about that yet you’re pissed off about something that may or may not be trueThe reduced budget part is what a lot of people are saying it is true….. maybe a director or board member has put a wee bit more money into the playing budget we don’t know

We're looking okay going forward and Gullan has had a couple of decent looks at goal. Defensively we are living on the edge, but that's hardly headline news with our back four.
And 10 men with Zanatta playing

Beginning to think you’d hate to see us being successful in the top flight, as you’d have nothing to moan about tbh.
How can anyone who’s seen Millen play in 3 competitive games recently in a defence who have conceded a grand total of 1 goal(in which he played no part in whatsoever) in over 270 minutes of competitive football and already have the opinion that he’s ‘hopeless’?
It’s absolutely mind boggling. This might just be me but I think Millen would be a good CH I personally don’t think he’s got the qualities of playing as a high full back getting up and down the pitch as he’s not got pace and quite slow getting back but that’s just my opinion

Like I said, no confirmation therefore no bluff to be called it's immaterial either way as the money to pay him or pay him off comes from club funds so it does us no benefit either way from a budget point of view.
As for the announcement etc, why would you? Raise another PR circus around the club with stories and people coming out asked for their opinions etc, the bad outweighs the good.
Paying him off doesn’t necessarily mean it will come out of the clubs funds maybe the folk that sanctioned the deal might put there hands in their pockets we don’t know all what we will know is that Scumbag won’t be employed by us anymore

Goodwillie is still on the books. We'll know when he's off the books of the club. No idea how the club will approach it given it will be an absolute shitshow when it happens.
It's worth mentioning Niall Russell was on an Aberdeen podcast and spoke about the episode which was released 3 days ago. There's a wee discrepencies which can happen when talking about timelines (Hendry went back to St Johnstone in the winter window, Killie beat us to him earlier in the season). From 1:15:30 on he confirms that he's still on the books and that conversations are still going on and that something will be announced "very, very soon" but that it's "all in the hands of legal reps".
The overall segment starts on 1:01:00
Aw I see is it free to listen too mate?

Whether it's cash related, or because players aren't being sold the club by Murray, it's clear we are struggling to get any sort of quality in.
If we are still saying the same thing this time next week that's a major black mark against Murray and it puts him on the back foot with the support right from the get go.
I get the quality over Quantity part but Jesus Christ we can’t even get 1 player over the line with the quality he needs and how many weeks since our last signing? Is a bit worrying and I don’t want to hear the waiting on teams loans excuses either because of teams in this league have made loan signings already

I had heard that he's a free agent now, off the Rovers books, but I have no confirmation of that being accurate.
Hopefully it is true and the club has kept it quiet because they might not want another PR disaster by mentioning the name of said player

Looks like we’re not bringing anyone in before the Aberdeen game and if that’s the case I can see us getting a skelping but he has to get people in next week before the cove game because we can’t really go into the first game with the squad like this atm

That kit is really not nice in my opinion
On transfers we are currently still after 2 strikers and a creative player but I hear they are like hens teeth and there isn’t many options this year. Talk of Innes Cameron maybe coming to Gayf which kind of shows you the level of guys available for loan this season. You look through first team squads of premiership clubs and there’s a real lack of guys that would be any use in this league or guys that clubs would actually want to put out on loan
Innes Cameron’s shite imo, our priority is CH atm with Murray saying were looking down south and the Scandinavia markets and I think we’ll get a striker in on loan but god knows where from, from what you’ve been saying
