What's strange about that? Burns and the Record likely jumped the gun, or the amurray quote is from the weekend (Burns had the story on the Monday) and the FFP is only just now reporting it, or he's verbally agreed a deal and Murray is playing coy.

You could be right there I’m just probably going over top because im just no wanting him to end up at the pars or Falkirk

Erm that articles seems to be at odds with the news earlier in the week that spencer is signing on again.

Aye I know it’s strange, one article says it’s a done deal and another saying were still in dialogue and will find out between 7 to 10 days

  3. Was rewatching Ian Murray’s press conference there and he did say he would talk to Bene, maybe he had spoken to him…… but he also said he would watch previous footage from last season maybe he saw that he doesn’t fit in what Murray wants to do  and never offered him a deal? It’s all ifs and buts and we will never know

Doesn't surprise me. What I'd heard was the first Bene had heard from Murray was when he told him he'd accepted a deal at Dunfermline...which then prompted Murray to speak to Spencer. Spencer hasn't actually signed anything yet, he's in the Maldives but plans to sign new deal on his return.

He should be back soon then and it being announced as I think we start pre season training on Friday

I'm probably reading to much into this but, the players page has been updated and still showing the pictures of Tumilty and Musonda, interestingly though it still shows BRS 😨

Maybe reading too much into it mate, it will properly update when we find who’s defo away and who’s staying/came in

Falkirk already had sufficient CB on staff, would not have necessarily been an automatic starter. At the Pars he is the likely starter.

Even at us he wouldn’t of been a likely starter if Murray brought in his own CHs and a fully fit Berra and Lang was there he would be 4th or 5th choice which he probably didn’t want

Transfer window opens on Friday, so I guess we'll hear a lot more on signings and departures around then, and Frankie should be back in the UK Wed/Thur

When is his last game for Zambia? And is it Friday the Transfer window opens? I thought it was next week

Just looked at their accounts. £718k in the bank and net assets of over £2m. A very healthy position to be in.

BUT...I've just been reading their thread in the L1 forum. The anticipated loss for the next accounting period is £900k . Absolutely mind boggling.

League One is where full time football goes to die, but that is an incredible amount of money to lose. What the hell were they paying out in wages?!

Well the rumoured wage that Griffiths was on 1.5k a week (we don’t know factual) apparently Paul Watson is on good money, Charlie Telfer I would imagine as well and paying probably good-decent money to the absolute mince they had.

No shock Bene going. Murray at press conference was specifically asked about 3 players namely Spencer, Tumilty and Bene. He said Spencer had been offered a deal, didn't even talk about Tumilty then said he'd speak to Bene. Clearly wasn't for him.

He was a good servant to us and always tried and wore his heart on his sleeve but at the end of the day his not of the quality we now need to move up the league. Shame about who he's joined but he leaves with zero ill feelings and best of luck for the future (just not any promotions!)

Brads signed a new deal by the looks of things, Maybe RT informed the gaffer he wasn’t to Re-sign like he did back in January and Bene I’ve seen a lot of people say that he wasn’t offered a new deal by Murray obviously we don’t know if that’s true (believe in what you will) and Frankie could be spoken too when he’s back

It is a bit strange. I can only assume that we are waiting until we have answers from everyone before we make an announcement but it would have been easy enough to put out something a few days ago which categorised the out of contract players as either released or offered new deals.

There will surely be something this week considering pre season training starts this weekend.

I’m sure I read somewhere the players are back on Friday Minus Vaughan and Lang obviously get Brad Announced and hopefully a CB before Friday

Not bothered about Bene moving on what bothers me is we have had no list of released players or players who will not resign.

Some players are still on holiday, looking like Brad Spencer has Re-signed/ possibly still have to discuss a deal with Musonda who’s still on international duty, some Younger players like Bow and Mahady could still be negotiating to leave, these things take wee while

Surprised he went to the Pars being Rovers Captain I expect he’d go to Falkirk. Not overly bothered he’s not the player he was and I’m guessing he’d have been back up and not captain if he stayed. I’m sure the Pars will have offered him 1st team football and a decent salary.

I’ve seen on twitter and Facebook people saying he wasn’t offered a new deal at us obviously we don’t know if that’s true but surprised he never had any other offers championship level but 2 League 1 clubs did

I think alot of people didn't realise just how good a player tait was for us as well. He played a role that I think mcglynn thought stanton would fill but due to our form falling off a cliff, he never really got going in that role.

Happy with Murray's business so far. If we sign anymore midfielders I'll probably be questioning Murray's sanity though. Still plenty of time to get rest of the squad sorted and hopefully the players coming in will be of the same standard or better.

If it’s true and Spencer has signed the new deal (I think it is) then were all good there now it will be the striker/Defence next being the priority

Just all paper talk and hearsay, we've not had much leaked out the club lately as to who we're trying to sign which is a dramatic change, last season we got our pre season update from a fairly frequent poster on here who'd bumped into our then chairman in Tesco.

Think it’s one of those easy link type things McGlynn leaves us goes to Falkirk oh who’s out of contract let’s link such and such to them of who he managed before, I think there was interest but that’s as probably as far as it went

  15. 1 minute ago, Raithie said:

Nothing official as of yet but would be surprised if it's not the case. Had McGlynn made it known he was keen to bring the majority of our out of contract players to Falkirk or was that purely speculative paper talk? With it looking likely Spencer will stay with us and Bene heading to Dunfermline there's not many left for you to take. Are you needing a right back as there's been heehaw talk on what's happening with Tumilty?

Rumours flying about everywhere on here, Twitter and FB it’s looking like Tumilty is away to the premiership just don’t know who, there were people saying St Mirren/Livi but nothing has materialised yet

Embarrassment of riches! You'd think at least 1 loan out is required and most likely Arnott to L1. Could see 1 getting moved on.

We'd easily take Ethan back to the North East for a wee loan 👌

I think out of that lot Ross will stay paid the compensation that Aberdeen wanted and one of our best players if played correctly as the guy said above having a good overall squad can help massively

  17. Surely 1 or 2 midfielders is getting moved on? Or least loaned out as that is a lot and not all Guaranteed Game time if we go 4312 then it will be Matthews, Spencer, Stanton/Brown and most likely Easton as the 10 (unless brown fills in at RB like he has at Peterhead)…

where does this leave the likes of Arnott, Ross, Connolly, Zanatta interesting to see what happens there
