I wonder how large the accompanying brown envelopes Bitcoin transfers will be?

I trust the European clubs will tell UEFA to tell the Saudis to f**k off.

FFP wipes out the only advantage they might have on entering the Champions League. At any rate the league signs the players and they are assigned to clubs so how can they even square that up with FFP? Just wont happen.

They have a maximum of 7 foreign players in each team, they are mostly already full. Most of these guys will be there for a year or two, harvest the wages, return to europe and buy the clubs they might like to play for in semi-retirement.

Saudi MNT are 54th in the world, sandwiched between ROI and Finland. Practically none of them play in higher leagues or ever have. The standard will be thus.

WASHINGTON, DC (July 8, 2022) - D.C. United Goalkeeper Bill Hamid underwent hand surgery on June 30 to repair the small finger radial collateral ligament at the metacarpophalangeal joint with internal brace augmentation.

Hamid sustained a traumatic rupture of the fourth to fifth distal intermetacarpal ligament at the metacarpophalangeal joint. The surgery was performed by Dr. Peter Thomas of OrthoVirginia. Hamid is expected to be sidelined for approximately 2-3 months as he completes rehabilitation.

    Knuckled.

Is there a magic formula of players on our books that will do that? I'm just not sure.

It all comes down to what a horrendous job Revolution GSC and in particular Tony Asghar and Sean McGee have done with recruitment. Fair enough, individually, most of the players we've signed are good players and if we're honest, most of us prior to mid-August looked at the signings individually and thought "ok, fair enough". As individuals, each of them - barring the goalkeeper - would be welcomed into most other Premiership squads. Even the worst ones like Liam Smith are being touted for moves to St. Johnstone etc.

Honestly never understood just how poorly we did in the transfer market under these people. We train in St. Andrews, seven golf courses. Dundee is not a bad place to live if you are on a reasonable salary, there are worse places for sure. They did implement a ban on staying outside the area and travelling in for training/games, wonder if thats binned.

  4. Edwards is out of contract on May 31st and clearly cutting his losses. Was he even that good in the first place tho? I mean dont get me wrong im critically aware of our level but the guy had very average career run in ELF League One the three seasons before he arrived (Plymouth 7th, Plymouth 21st (relegated), Blackpool 13th).

Players OOC in May - Pawlett, Edwards, Smith, Harkes, Newman, Fotheringham, McGrath (loan), Ayina (loan).

    Birighetti's got another year....

  5. "People always ask me, are you commited to this club? I'm absolutely commited to the club, I have put a lot of money into this club and wherever we end up we will address it and move on"

Constantly bleating on about this money he has blown. Moving on would be the best thing he could ever do for DUFC. Simply cannot fathom how he thought he could make money out of this, its laughable tbh.

Not the end of the world if we get relegated? get real, last time it was four years with better coaches and better structure. He is dillusional, he clearly does not understand football on any level. This would'nt be a huge issue if he just kept his trap shut and hired someone who actually understands football, recruitment and who people actually want to work under.

People hit the nail on the head with the good staff we have seen leave behind the scenes, the facilities mean nothing without competent and able coaches and staff. Would add that I also dont blame Liam Fox, he has been dunked into an impossible position.

The GK situation is just incredible. There are hundreds of free agents currently available, never at any point have there been so many professionals out of contract. To think he wouldnt sanction money to sign a third keeper for three months is just evidence of Ogren's total cluelessness.

Lets also not forget they lost the Nike kit deal, or they trying to say Macron deals > Nike deals, gtfo all of them.

You're using plurals there. One pipe dream and one social club, whilst ignoring every single other example I gave. Why?

Our game could be doing better, but new stadiums is not the reason it isn't.

You seem fixated on this stadium comment, its a sign of growth and investment. Recent events will have had a huge impact on both the Camperdown development and the Aberdeen beach project. No comment about the massive discrepancy between clubs values here and in Europe.

He's certainly missing the main one.

    Patter is vapid.

  7. Stadium pipe dreams and new social clubs.

And our attendances being reasonable, even better than a lot of European clubs. How are those business's worth four/five times as much, in smaller towns and cities with apparently less support? They have a better product. They get better TV money. The leagues are not tiny and unfair.

Bizarre would be defending a product that has been proven to be inferior countless times.

Its happened everywhere now. Last season Man City's league record was better than Celtic's. Most leagues everywhere are dominated by the same old faces. Tinkering with league structures won't fix that: if it did then the same shit wouldn't be happening everywhere.

It totally is not btw, The Premier League is not in any way comparable to our league. If you look at like for like clubs across Europe for fan base, potential fanbase, and just the plain value of squads our clubs are basically in ruins. I mean no one is building anything atm really but when is the last team in Scotland to actually build a new stadium? Falkirk? 75% built for peanuts, Hearts had a renovation sure.  Look around Europe, look at facilities the stadiums, the infrastructure, we are being eclipsed.

Look at average squad age, average value. Not going to get into facilities but its for the large part mirrored.

The play offs as presently constructed are a farce.  One up, one down, then second bottom versus second top in a one-off game at a neutral venue is the fairest option and one that doesn’t offer an advantage to the upper league team.

Two should be relegated, no shifty wee double header, nothing, down. Play off 2/3rd in the Championship if you must.

  9. Salary cap is a non-starter anyway, what would it even look like? Rangers and Celtic capped a 20k p/w? the rest pay 10 players with that money, more.

Restructure is the only option now. The league is boring AF, long, overly complicated, rigged. The guy running it appears useless, how long did we not even have a sponsor in place, complete incompetence. Belgium population around the same size as ours, slightly bigger but similar structure in the two bigger teams, absolutely light years ahead of our game, 18 club top tier, no financial meltdown, loads of interest, loads of investment.

Too many big clubs left to rot so that a few outside the OF can achieve mediocrity. Relegation playoffs are laughable.

  10. When PC Ashgar talks it does not ever really decrease the feeling that he is probably a division or two out of his depth, I mean he can be convincing at times and then you just get the vibe that he has just presented well to a hyper positive American sort and landed behind that desk.

Bit sad to see Clark go.  He isnt good enough to be a top 6 striker but I don't think he's a player that could ever be accused of not trying.  Popped up with some important goals.

Agree, he was pretty decent at times.

  11. Need fast action. On that post regarding his division of training, sounds absolutely shite, cliquey and exactly the thing you want to avoid in a squad based team sport. What is the f point in signing veterans to mentor the youth we are all constantly told are our future then just having them all run laps while the matchday train, mental.

  12. Ross out. Roaster. Revealed the only person who had a clue what was up was Tam, he scrambled to Budapest.

Feel sorry for the two goalkeepers, that kind of mark can just end top flight careers.

Now we have to pay Ross to do one, hire a new coach and still find a new GK that is not recently traumatized.

Or could have not done none that and just paid Zander Clark.
