McArthur & Jones will be available. Will Spartans allow Penker to play? Hopefully Stevenson will have recovered.
Allowing Devon to go out on loan was a big mistake as he can play either side as a fullback and defensive midfield.

Agree we could do with dev.

    Never let's us down

  2. Thought first half slightly better team but despite alot of play we don't look like taking our chances.

    Soft 1st goal to lose.

Second half didn't offer much until after they missed a penalty then 2 quickfire goals.

Unlucky with 3rd goal as referee missed blatant push on our defender before the cross.another foul was missed in the build up to the 4th goal.we need to take more chances.couple of observations today- really strange when a home team scores and there is silence and the referee today was as poor as it gets .books lennon walker for kicking the ball away then 5 minutes later didn't book their player for doing the same and does anyone inside the ground know what the penalty they got was for.

Tough game on Wednesday to come so hopefully some players are back.

Why did Max start our biggest game of the season with Zander Miller and Jack Smith up front ? Two players who this season have offered almost no physical presence never mind threat.

It cannot be because Dan Watt is injured.  When he came on he looked fitter than Miller and Smith.

Think that was a mistake and we could see the difference after he came on

  4. Thought first half was a midfield battle and I don't remember musa having a save to make.

    Great goal by Gemmell.

Only concern was our front line were not in the game and the ball kept coming back at us.

Was hoping we would bring Dan on at half time but the delay cost us as Talbot had their best spell and eventually scored as we couldn't get up the pitch.

After the goal felt we started to play our game and passed the ball better .

Having a target man to work off helped and both grant and hamilton started playing some nice football.

Thought we had a great chance with grant shooting over after a great move he started late in extra time.

Musa was unlucky with last penalty as it hit his leg and it squeezed in whilst Lennon walker penalty got tipped on to the post.

    Fine margins.

Players put a big effort in today with Jamie Mccormack outstanding especially.

He’s still got a long way to go but in my opinion allasan Jones is the most exciting prospect we’ve had at Newton since Scott Pittman. Really enjoy watching how he plays

A very exciting player with lots of ability.

    Love watching him play.

    Makes things happen.

  6. Strong start today.

Looked sharp and moving the ball quickly.

Great strike from alassan and after red card and second goal we controlled the game.

The subs did well today giving us a strong finish to the game

    Hopefully carry this into Wednesday

  7. Thought first 30 minutes we struggled and gifted a penalty and a great chance where they hit the post.

Pleased for Musa saving the penalty and a decent save before that.

After 30 minutes we got a hold of the game and continued this into second half.

Great free kick to win the game.

Could have scored more but final ball and wanting to walk the ball in were the issue.

Apart from couple half chances at the end we controlled second half.

Jamie Mccormack was outstanding today and easy choice for man of the match

In cup games all about winning and got the job done

  8. Thought we played well first half hour but started to run out ideas against a good defence and keeper.

The referee should have clamped down on the dunbar tackling or even spoke to captains to calm things down.

Alasson done well and looks like can offer creativity and number 12 looked sharp.

Good to see Tom Grant playing and he had a good first half.

Nice to get the win against an organised team who were up for it

  9. Over the last few years thought Michael Gemmell has been a key part in our success.

Does all the dirty hard work stuff  leadership

When he came back into the side against Bonnyrigg you could see what we had been missing.

Hope he stays for next season and he would have an important role to play .

I think most boness fans appreciate his efforts over the years

  10. Thought we put a good effort on Sunday but ek strength and finishing were better than ours.

Thought nicky lock has had a good season and has been strong at the back but I prefer him attacking midfield.

Unfortunate with injury but showed his determination on Sunday .

Hopefully fully fit for next season

  11. Great effort today.

Andy kept us in it first half but second half we as a team were outstanding.

Real effort and heart from the team.

Jamie had a great game and took one for the team at the end.

Brilliant to see the reaction from players and fans at the end.

  12. Good battling performance tonight with the team down to the bare bones.

Fought hard and deserved the point.

First half was wide open and we took goals well with walker being a threat

Second half we defended well after finding it tough in the first half.

Soft penalty well saved by Andy.

Please with the effort and heart shown tonight.

Time for an end to the excuses , injuries , covid , transition etc .

These things affect all teams .

Max has done well , not doubting that , but that is now history .The present is telling a different story .

The love in for Max is now receding and time for BU to act .

Act now before this season ends and get things sorted for next season .

I think last night summed it up.

Every team has its problems but we have had way more than our fair share this year.

I think we focus on getting our signings done early to let max build for next year so we get off to a good start.

Totally agree injury’s have killed us this year can’t remember a season like it but to blame the manager for that is ridiculous

Can't blame the manager regarding the injuries.

When you look at performance against rangers civil service shire games our best 11 should be top 6 but with not much on the bench it shows .

We also used to change formations alot during games  but this season we haven't perhaps due to the lack of squad .

Need to get back to our junior mentality with being competitive physical and put teams under pressure.

Our core of team is strong and we should be able to build on that.

Lowland league was never going to be easy

  15. When I saw the line up with no real bench I feared the worst.

Started well but fell out of the game and eventually they scored twice.

To be fair the second goal was cracker.

Any chance of comeback gone when Jamie lost the rag .

Great player but no use sitting in the stand.

Thought 3rd goal offside but they could have scored more.

The 10 players left battled hard and kept fighting.

Been a season where a mixture of signings not performing, injuries and general inconsistent results.

Also a bit of transition with donnelly Snowden and Campbell no longer there.

Don't think changing management would help.

Maxs record over the piece has been good with league cup, league and decent 1st season in lowland league against this season which has not been good.

In lowland league you get punished more for mistakes with teams a bit quicker and you need to be at it in every game.

I don't think we have played the same line up very often in games with injuries covid etc.

Have lost grant,Miller and locke to longer term injuries which hasn't helped and a factor in why our attack is weak.

Hope we can get the best out of the rest of season get players in with  bit of experience and dig and preferably keep loan players to a minimum for start of preseason so we can get off to a good start next season.

Hopefully we can get a stronger line up out on Saturday and get the win.

    Welcome.

"Didn't create much" is a tad harsh as I thought we looked more menacing going forward than we have done in most of our games recently. Sure Tommo and Danny were off the pace but at least we saw the ball in the box.

A wee buzz of excitement when Mitchell had the ball. Pace and running direcly at the opposition goal will do that to your average Fitbaw fan.

A win in Banjoland, a bit of sun and into the next round. Job done.

    Mon the BU's !!!

Mitchell gave us more of a threat with his pace and strength.

Don't remember either goalie making saves .it was that kind of game.

Good to win and move on.
