    Agree.

It was always going to end badly. Could see the way it was going from who he was signing.

I lost faith with this board a long time ago but this will be the test now.

Can almost guarantee if we win the next two Murray will get it.

Murray gets it and am chucking it. Season ticket getting binned

Men v Boys completely out classed the pen summed us up pathetic from Paton.

On this form we are heading for the relegation playoffs .

Never thought I would say this but with Wullie as manager we are worse than when AJ was here .

Cmon Billy pull the trigger. The loyal fans deserve better.

it’s clear wullie is not up to the job

  3. Don’t want to get too carried away with friendlies, but thought we played very well second half. As with the comments on Wednesday night, really impressed with the young boys that came on. Definitely good signs for the season ahead.

No other trialists, just Irving. Agree I’d like to see a bit more quality up top and somebody out wide to complete the squad.

Murray and Todd will be our wide men
  4. I notice in today's Courier Wullie Gibson said he had another talk with Josh Rae after his other deal (with Carlisle?) fell through. Josh apparently wanted guarantee of regular starts but as Queens had already signed Max Currie, Wullie said he couldn't guarantee that and he'd need to compete for first choice. Obviously Josh didn't fancy that and got a suitable offer from Airdrie, good luck to him anyway. Wullie said every player must earn their starting place. Wullie also hinted that Fitzpatrick re-signing is not completely dead and buried although Partick are obvious faavourites for him but he is leaving negotiations between the clubs over compo to those upstairs. . He also said that, although he wouldn't rule it out if the right players are available, he hoped not to rely on the loan market this season. He wants to run with a squad of 20 plus some of the youngsters and is still hoping to sign a midfielder and striker. Wullie showing that it's not too hard to keep fans reasonably informed of you want to.

Maybe we are better without Rae. No player should be guaranteed a starting place. For someone that was only with us for 1 season and was unfortunate to get a bad injury and be out for half that season he sounds like a bit of a billy big bawz
  5. I will be so so surprised if he doesn't play 442 like he ended last season. Just because we've already signed 3 CBs doesn't mean we'll play a back 3. Playing a back 4, we will need at least 4 CBs in the squad especially as Stuart Morrison is injury prone. Wullie will want to play Todd in his preferred left midfield, and will want to play him most weeks as he is captain and one of our better players. That rules out most other formations. I think he'll play 442 because even when he had Connelly who was clearly a number 10 he still kept with the same formation playing Connelly out wide.
This for me is why Connor Murray is a bit of an underwhelming signing, as I think he has been signed for the RM role in a 442. If you look at the squad depth (see below) in each position, that is where he seems to fit in. If we were to sign Fitzpatrick or get a good loan winger I would be happy with his signing as he would be a good squad player. Or if we were to sign Connelly I would also be happy as that would suggest he is going to be played as an attacking midfielder, and we would change formation. Overall, he isn't a bad player to buy, and we should definitely give him a chance at this level, but I hope he won't be our only option going into the season.

    You leaving Paton out. Madness

  6. Need the option though for me, when things aren’t going your way need the option there to change it up. Don’t think a target man is necessarily a bad thing either.

On that note the signing up of Wilson immediately makes us a lot more physical in middle of park, none of the defenders we’ve currently signed are on the small side either. After a few season of us being a smaller side.

If we can get Fitzpatrick signed up I think we have the basis of a right good side. Pace out wide is vital, and he was starting to show an end product. Would love east as well think he’d get the left back berth though, the rumoured interest in broadfoot although surprising giving we’ve got 3 already (I think someone like east would be more necessary in all honesty, covers left hand side) I think that level of experience would be huge for us, performed well for ICT too. Looking like Connelly is away, would like to see us get the savoury boy from Peterhead to replace him. We also need a right back if the gaffer is taking up a position on touchline, a few player can cover it, but none natural

Would Scott Hooper do a job at RB
