  1. 17 mins in for the first Easton roll around the ground today I timed it as.

very frustrating considering the start we had. Thought Corr looked fine today and was a makeshift back 5 with a new boy in midfield. Hopefully the injured players can get back soon and we can play with a bit more confidence again.

Has to be said Queens Park were poor aswell and we handed that to them.

There's a time and a place to bring that up.  Today was not that time.

    He was great.

I’d honestly not be too worried on my view. All I’ve said is that I don’t know what IM sees in him. I stand by that taking the whole season into account. Clearly he done well yesterday so credit to him.

If Josh Mullin doesn't play today, you're sitting on your sofa bumping your gums that we've lost 1-0 and that United are away with the league title.

Pretty sure I wouldn’t be saying that, not with so many games left. He puts in a great corner and it’s dangerous. Does nowhere near enough in open play for me.

like I said though, it’s all about opinions.

  4. A well ground out win today. Away game  in a Derby and a bit of a slog is a game we could easily have lost last season and after the last two games and cheap dropped points this was all about getting the 3 points.

Thought Scott Brown was excellent in the main today and a real stand out. Shaun Byrne needs to be signed at all costs. He is excellent at what he does.

Watching Easton in the warm up I wasn’t surprised by his showing. I’m usually a massive fan of him but he had one today. He is rarely mentioned but I really don’t see what Josh Mullen brings to the team. IM is clearly a fan however and there is a reason he is where he is and I’m sitting on the sofa typing this!

  5. If I was a Dundee fan I can’t say that I’d be overjoyed with this news. I’d be happy to give him time at Rovers, would be a shame to see him leave but I’d not be heartbroken. He had a difficult job this season but also made some baffling decisions.

id also not be shocked if Colin Cameron got the gig if Murray leaves…..

  6. I’m not convinced that it’s necessarily more than meets the eye as some are saying. I’m sure throughout his career Berra will have worked with many he doesn’t like so can’t see him fully retiring on account of that.

Also if it was to ease our wage then they’d surely have come to a mutual consent type thing, and he could have then went to Falkirk.

IF however it was to free up wages to bring others in then I’m concerned that the club are on their arses as we need his wages to cover about 4 people.

i certainly wouldn’t want to speculate, and whilst I’m disappointed to lose an experienced player, my overriding thought is that I hope Berra is ok and the decision is purely physical and not thinking his body can cope with the demands.

  7. Absolutely mind-blown at some of the reaction on here for pre season games. It’s all about fitness and for the new manager to assess what he has, Or In some cases, hasn’t.

some real overreaction and bed wetting going on here.

imaging booing a pre season friendly 😂😂

I really do feel for Murray. Luckily if It does go tits up for him we have a few experts on here who seen to know what they are talking about and will fill the void…..

  8. Got to be mindful of the opposition but a lot of positives to take. Patterson clearly likes to play high and took his goal really well and certainly seems a talent.

Eastons movement and variation of play is excellent. Obviously his goal was a peach but loved how he always wanted the ball. I actually think his movement could really benefit Zanatta.

Brown and Stanton, if they stay fit are going to be a really solid midfield together.

I’m tempering the fact it was just a bounce match but the signs are there. The way they pressed and the little passing passages.

The chances of us signing Easton are very, very slim. We'd need to come in with a very good offer for him. He's had injury problems in the past and from what I've heard has a few offers from clubs who should be able to offer far more than we can. I'd be very surprised if he signed for us. At 28, with his history, you wouldn't grudge the guy for maximising what he can get.

It would be interesting to see the type of club in for him, as you say, at 28 and with a history of injuries I’d be slightly surprised if it was a particularly higher level that came for him. - although no doubting his abilities.

He is also part of Joe Cardles Cochinf Academy so it may be that a move to Rovers would be appealing in the respect it would let him continue with that?

I’m maybe trying to be overly optimistic as there is no doubt he would do well with Rovers

  10. I suspect if we have officially went to Kelty for permission then there have been unofficial discussions with KT already about whether he has interest or not. I’d imagine amongst that budget etc would have been a factor.

Kelty will also have asked KT if it’s something he wants to pursue and he must have shown willingness.

    I’d guess it’ll be a goer. I’m just gutted I never got him at 7s yesterday 😂

  11. Just over a week to get the applications in.
Suppose it could be looked on either way

    - a short timeframe so feels very rushed

    - eager to get the new guy in to get things rolling.

I can’t see managers in the play offs wanting to commit to that so we can likely rule out Ian Murray and Stewart Petrie, albeit he was never really realistic.

    I'll pass on all 3.

Murray was bang average at Dumbarton and complete dogs hit at St Mirren without Jack Ross, ok he might have improved some but I'm not fully convinced.

Stewart Petrie I just cant see coming, if he's wanted a FT job he'd have been in (and probably out of ) one already. Forbye he's totally unproven above L1 which despite a few attempts he hasn't got out of past the play-offs.

Kevin Thomson might still be well thought of by Rangers but he's very much untested, I mean come on Claude Anelka could have managed a Kelty side with that much financial muscle behind it to the title. There also the fact that he is rumoured to be an absolute walloper!

Other in the mix I've heard.

    Lennon - No!

    McPake - f**k no!

    McKinnon - Never again!

    Glass - Really?  No!!!

    Hartley -  Nope!

Holt, Hopkin, McPhearson, Darran Young, Naismith Jesus the list of absolute shite is endless!

Ross? - I wish! (he's probably still pissing himself laughing at us from last time!)

    Wright? - Jury is oot!

Laurie Ellis and Berra?    - By no means ideal but better than some of the above.

    Doug Imrie? - well....

Unless there's something truly amazing comes out of left field I think we're fucked!

Fair enough, out of curiosity, if you had the keys to the kingdom who would you go for?

  13. Ian Murray - Depending on play offs

Stewart Petrie - same as above (I couldn’t care less about the Pars connection, just want the best man for the job)

Kevin Thomson - Cut his teeth in Rangers youth coaching and done what he has needed to with Kelty and looks to be ambitious.

Any of those 3 I’d be happy with.

Knowing our luck we’ll get Davo with Bene as his assistant… (jokes)

  14. It shouldn’t be, but it must now be one of the toughest gigs in Scottish football. For the new manager. The complete disaster of the last season (cup win aside) and the financial hit means that the new guy will be operating with one hand behind is back from the offset.

Players out of contract and we are now going to be operating in that for signings - where all the decent ones will be snapped up already.

Whoever comes in needs to have a cracking contact list. It’ll be needed.
