  1. so unless uefa change their qualifying methods I think its safe to say that Scotland's champion next season will qualify automatically for the new set up the season after that as only switzerland are left now that can overtake us and that wouldnt be enough to knock us out the top 10.

so thats another guaranteed uefa europa league spot for whoever finishes 3rd too.

An even funnier thing was when Real Madrid spanked you 5-1.

oh no the champions of europe and general best team in the world beat us,my day has been ruined!!!

you should enjoy it mate cause your team will never do it.

Thankfully I've still seen my Club beat Barcelona, Villareal, Real Betis, Celta Vigo, Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio, Porto, Benfica, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Lyon, Lille, Liverpool, Manchester United, Blackburn,  and many more other european clubs this century.

unbeaten against old pep's Man City too so i'm good.

    Thank you.  Fabulously comprehensive.

I can't join in with the "we want" and the "let's hope" parts, but I'm grateful for the response.

your team qualified for europe thanks to a scottish cup final appearance, if you were to replicate that this season you'd be guaranteed European group stage football next season just like Hearts this year, so its very much "we", keeping that top 10 spot is beneficial to every club in scotland who dream of a european run.

So Neil Lennon in your opinion was a Champions League level manager thanks for clarifying.

Excuse Me Wow GIF by Mashable

Neil Lennon got us our first ever away CL win in the group stage when we beat Moscow 3-2, He got us 10 points in that group our highest tally ever in the CL with further wins over Moscow, Barcelona and a draw with benfica.

He got us our first ever win on Italian Soil against Lazio after beating them at home, got us 13 points total in that Europa League group, our highest ever points tally in that competition.

He was by far a champions league level manager for us, to say otherwise is just bias against him for the covid season.

    Right, genuine question:

How pish do we need to be and for how long, in order for us to go back to just having one CL slot, that needs reached via qualifiers?

We lose the second CL spot if we fall out the top 15, we lose the automatic group spot if we fall out the top 10.

Belgium overtook us tonight, dropping us to 9th.

Brugge and Union SG have qualified to the next rounds while Anderlecht and Gent are both third so still have a chance of reaching the next rounds so they will get enough points to keep the 8th spot unless they all suddenly lose every game from here on and the we would go back above them once the points from 5 years ago drop off, but them losing every game isn't happening so 8th place is gone.

Austria (2.8 points behind) and Sebia (5.025 points behind) are 10th and 11th so we want all their teams to screw up.

Salzburg are 3rd and will qualify unless Zagreb fancy beating Chelsea again, if Salzburg beat Milan they're through no matter what.

Sturm Graz are currently second in a really tight group where everyone can still qualify but i think theyll get through since Lazio and Feyenoord have been so disappointing.

Red Star are bottom of their group so lets hope they stay there and Partizan are second in their and likely to go through, alone they cant get enough points to trouble us.

If Austria can overtake us then we lose the group stage spot the season after next but we wont lose the 2 CL qualifying spots this season.

This is assuming everything still works the same way but since results from this dont come into effect till the season after next its that new format change so may be different.

You genuinely think the Hearts players applied themselves more than the other players?

By your logic then if Hearts applied themselves even more they could have won the league?

Leicester did it and Hearts were the only team to have ever broken the old duopoly when they finished 2nd above paul le guen's oldco.

if you dont believe you can then you never will.

Ah so the distribution is in the rules = hard earned?

So if we just did that in the spfl and amended the distribution rules then anyone earning that money deserves it.

pretty much yes and like i said above if you're not happy with how tv money is distributed then dont support it, if you have sky sports or just their tv package in general then cancel it. let your club know not to accept the new extended contract. fight for a better deal.

Speaking of handouts, can any Celtic fan put together a coherent justification as to why uefa owe Celtic £30m for winning the Scottish premiership?

cause thats what every team who qualifies for the group stage get?

because celtic and the zombies worked hard and got our coefficient up to that level where we get rewarded with that benefit.

teams finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th in some leagues also get it and they haven't even won anything.

I know my history very well, thank you.  My background is closer to yours than you seem capable of imagining. I'm also a qualified history teacher, although I've not taught any for a long time.

The disconnect between how you view matters of justice and wealth distribution in wider society and in football is intriguing.  You separate them because it serves your selfish interests to do so.

ok so basically what you're telling me is that Liverpool should have signed Robertson for no reason, they just see him as a 15 year old kicking a ball about the street and say sign him up. instead of Robertson working hard at Queen's park to earn moves to dundee united and Hull and prove himself?

No because he worked hard he's got a champions league winners medal but that shouldnt have mattered, it should simply have been given to him because it's not fair for him not to have it?

because thats what you sound like.

How come you like their economic vision then?

Not all of them of course, just the ones on the far right.

I don't, there is a balance to be found.

Look at hearts they worked hard and are now benefiting from european group stage football and no doubt they will again next season and if they do it well they'll be the third force in scotland for years to come with group stage football for consecutive years which will get them better players.

there's being unfortunate beyond your circumstances and taking advantage of people like the energy companies are doing right now and then there's you who want everything gift wrapped and handed to you for nothing.
